Work Text:
In the garage of the firehouse Blades was in his alt mode as Graham carefully examined the twisted rotor, it was still intact and thus could be repaired. With how many times one of the copter’s rotors was damaged Graham had learn a lot and had gotten faster at fixing it.
It wasn’t a painless process and Graham could see parts of Blades’ metal plating shift. The first time he had seen it it was incredibly uncanny and a stark reminder that the Bots weren’t machines, they were living beings like him. Now he was more mindful of what would hurt and gave Blades a warning before hand.
Still working this close gave him questions, he knew on some level that grounders and fliers were different but to what extent. Cody had said Blades had been a grounder back on Cybertron but Blades scanned a helicopter when he got to earth not knowing it could fly. Did Cybertronians have certain custom or culture around being able to fly or not? What was his alt mode back on Cybertron? How did alt modes even work? How come Heatwave got a third mode referring to it as ‘rescanning’ and yet Blades changing to a flier wasn’t rescanning? He could just ask Blades given he is a medic.
As his mind wandered from question to question the rotor was beginning to match the other besides a few dents and chipped bits. Nothing that wouldn’t heal in time. Nothing more he could do right now, not with the lateness of the day catching up to him. As he got down Blades’ canopy opened. Graham placed the tools he had been using behind the passenger seat. He had been in Blades a few times but the cockpit was different to Boulder’s cab. The backseat could transform into a stokes basket if needed. There was a compartment with a first aid kit under the backseat aswell as some extra energon. He should be heading upstairs to his room but the need for sleep kept him there. Besides Dani often fell asleep inside Blades before so it was unlikely the copter would mind. As he lay down on the backseats he watch the canopy shut and the lights turned off.
Somehow sleeping inside a giant alien robot was a thought that only occurred to Graham after waking up to the rescue alarm going off.
