The Duel Wielder

Summary:

Wemmbu couldn't fight the Law anymore, he had lost so much, and wasn't going to put his best friend in danger anymore.

So, Wemmbu turned himself in. Let Law Execute him, and consequently, take over the server.

But Egg won't stand for this, he wouldn’t let Lettuce, or anyone else who hurt his best friend get away with their actions.

Eggchan will get his revenge. And he will make sure, the Law is gone for good.

Lets just say, Eggchan kills more then just 1 diamond player...

Chapter 1: No Way Out

Chapter Text

This takes place after the Battle of the Great Sea and is a Dead Wemmbu, warrior Eggchan AU. The only ships will be Clownzy/SquidSwagg unless I find a match for Th3Blurpinstein. There will be major character deaths, cussing, violence, and I haven't decided on a happy ending or not. You have been warned.

The tax duo had destroyed the orbital cannon, saving Pirate Civilization. But at what cost? Jayden had been captured. Every pirate was dead, hiding, or new lawmen. The Great Sea was taken over by Law. The actual civilization was safe, but there was no one left to enjoy the victory.

Eggchan and Wemmbu scanned the horizon over the abandoned civilization, a fallen empire once filled with hundreds of players, now echoed like a ghost town.

Another casualty of the servers greed.

"We got to leave this place." Eggchan said, exhaustion creeping into his voice, "When Jayden comes back, he'll be pissed if it gets blown up." he finished looking over the still intact pirate civilization.

"We destroyed the canon though," Wemmbu replied as he dug around in his ender chest, hoping to find some food to heal in his dwindling resources, "We can hide out here, its not like they can blow it up anymore."

"They still have the music discs, Wemmbu," Egg pointed out flatly. "They have the blueprints. They'll just rebuild. If we stay here, we're just giving Law a reason to level the city. We're a walking target."

"Your right bro," Wemmbu said, running his hand through his short hair. A habit he picked up after lettuce cut his hair in prison. "Damn it Egg, we got to go. God I'm getting so sick of them, cant they just leave us alone?" He ranted as he tried to form a plan.

"Alright, here's what were going to do, lets get some more gear from Old Man Linn, then well make an appearance at Capital City, we know Law won't bomb their own place, especially with so many innocent chungies, and we can take the dolphin highway. Then hop and skip to redstone town for a pearl cannon to the farlands. We can gear up with the orbitals, maybe rob Serpentine, and come back to defeat the law."

Egg stared at him, his expression unreadable. "Wow. I didn't know you were actually capable of forming a coherent plan of action."

"Shut up, Egg."

Despite the weight of the world on their shoulders, a laugh broke between them, echoing through the abandoned Pirate Civ.

They made their way from the peak of the main base, down the levels of pirate civ.

This was their last sanctuary. Nowhere else on the server offered the kind of protection the Pirates did. No one else was even fighting these tyrants. Everything was slowly being taken over by the law, like a poison slowly creeping into their brain, blinding them to the truth.

After finishing gathering supplies, raiding homes, getting exp from abandoned pets, and robbing stores, they had enough to make it to Old Man Linn. Climbing into the ugliest bamboo raft, they set off into the vastness of the Great Sea.

During their long trip, Wemmbu talked about all the places he had been while Egg was stuck in the end. Something he rarely did. He talked about his heroic adventures as the Invisible Knight. How he bravely fought against Boosfer and his army to defend capital city. How he joined his old enemies team to kill Boomie, defeated the Ocean Rangers, and helped rebuild pirate civ. How he and Jayden because allies because of this.

But what Egg found most interesting, was his journey to The Underworld

He had never heard of anything like it in his study of the server. The players, the people, and the speculation about what it was truly for, it excited Egg. He took furious notes in his archives, he was especially curious about not being about to place or break blocks. Something that defied the physics of Minecraft. after they defeated the law, Wemmbu said he would take him!

In return, Egg also told him about his adventures, although noticeable more unimpressive. How he and Minute helped players find what they needed in the end while still defending the dimension from the law. Egg told him he even got two kills!

Him and Wemmbu laughed for hours while boating, a nice break from the stress of the law. It was almost peaceful. It reminded Egg so much of the old days on the server, just the two of them messing around, finding secretes, and enjoying the server for what it was always ment to be.

But that serenity was broken when they finally arrived at Old Man Linn's island. It looked... Different then what he was imagining.

There were no towers or any buildings for that matter. It looked untouched by the server. A rare occurrence.

"Uhm, are you sure you have the right island? This looks... normal?" Egg said, scanning the area with his eye.

"Uhm, lowkey I have no idea." Wemmbu said, looking around at the island, "There definitely used to be buildings here... Umm... His stash was underground, maybe its still there?" he said hopefully.

Wemmbu led the way, clearing a patch of overgrown vines with his sword until he found the hidden iron trapdoor. He yanked it open, and the smell of gunpowder and old enchantments wafted up.

"Linn? You down there? I need another set of armor!" Wemmbu playfully call into the dark, using a torch to light the path.

"I'm down here!" a voice called out from deeper withing the underground bunker. But as the duo ventured further into the torchlit room, they froze.

Old Man Linn was backed against a wall of chests, and he wasn't alone. Three Lawmen stood in the center of the room, their enchanted netherite armor shimmering purple in the dim light. Their swords were drawn.

"Well, well," the lead Lawman sneered. "The fugitives deliver themselves right to us."

"Linn, what is this?" Wemmbu yelled, his eye darting between the soldiers and the surprisingly young man as he pulled out his sword.

"Don't look at me! I didn't invite them here!" Linn snapped, clutching a dusty crossbow. "And stop calling me Old! I'm twenty-two!"

"Bro, I thought to 'put down the sword for good, why are you fighting the Law?" Wemmbu laughed, ignoring the fuming Lawmen and Old Man Linn's true age.

"I DID! I told these idiots I quit fighting years ago. I'm a retired explorer, enjoying my wealth, and then they break down my door like I'm some kind of warlord!"

"You're harboring the server's most wanted, Linn," the Lawman stepped forward. "That makes you an accessory to his crimes."

"I'm not harboring anyone!" Linn yelled, his face turning red. "They just stopped by to take my stuff! How am I in the wrong?"

The lawmen said nothing, only drawing their swords and pulling out their shields.

"You ready to get back in the game old man?" Wemmbu asked with a smirk on his face, his tail swishing in excitement.

Old Man Linn spit at the Lawmen's feet, "Bring it on!"

The room exploded into chaos. Wemmbu lunged forward, swinging his axe to catch the lead Lawman's shield, while Egg splashed a potion of Slowness at the lawmen's feet. The cramped quarters of the stash made the fighting brutal and messy. Sparks flew off the stone walls as blades clashed.

Linn was surprisingly skilled for being retired, dodging a lethal blow and shoving a minecart of TNT toward the Lawmen. "Get out of here!" he roared at Wemmbu and Egg. "The tunnel behind the cobblestone-go! Now!"

"We aren't leaving you old man!" Wemmbu yelled, parrying a strike that nearly took his head off.

"You need to save the server Wemmbu!" Linn shouted, a sad, sharp smile breaking through his beard. "And I'm sick of being called old!!"

A Lawman lunged, his blade glowing with Sharpness IV. Linn stepped into the path of the sword to block the exit for the boys. There was a sickening sound of metal meeting metal, and Linn gasped, his health bar plummeting.

"LINN!" Egg cried out.

With his last bit of strength, Linn pulled a lever. A hidden wall slammed shut between the boys and the Lawmen, cutting off the path.

"Go..." Linn's voice came faintly through the stone, followed by the terrifying hiss of a dozen ignited TNT blocks. "And tell them... I wasn't that old..."

BOOM

The explosion rocked the entire island. Wemmbu and Egg were thrown forward into the dark escape tunnel as the stash collapsed behind them.

When the dust settled, the silence was deafening. The Lawmen were gone, the stash was buried, and Old Man Linn was gone with it.

Wemmbu sat in the dirt, his hands shaking as he stared at the cave-in. The "genius plans" didn't feel so fun anymore.

"Wemmbu, we have to go!" Egg yelled, pulling Wemmbu further down the tunnel.

Wemmbu looked back one more time, at everything destroyed, before turning and running with Egg, The Tunnel was long and winding, and made a steep decent further into the ground. They ran and ran, the only light was a single torch Egg was holding in his offhand.

Eventually, the tunnels lead to an opening into the vast blue waters of the great sea.

"We're safe here, for now." Egg panted, trying to catch his breath.

"Ugh," Wemmbu sighed, "I don't know what we can even do anymore, they got Old Man Linn, we're completely out of supplies, almost out of food. Our elytra's and tridents are broken- ugh, they really backed us into a corner."

"What can we do?" Egg asked, every plan they've made has ended very poorly, and they were running out of options.

"There is still one thing we can do," Wemmbu said seriously, scanning over the endless horizon. "I have a plan, but its dangerous, and very risky."

"We are kinda out of options." Egg said with a soft laugh, standing next to his best friend. "Might as well try it, not much else we can do."

Wemmbu stayed silent, his face a mask of cold indifference. But in his eyes, Egg could see something he hadn't seen from Wemmbu in a long time, fear.

"Alright, I know a place we can hid out until I get everything ready." He turned to face Egg, looking him in the eyes with a smirk, "You still got water breathing?"

"Of course, I told you it was a great investment." Egg defended. Wemmbu just laughed at this. Egg potted them up, sharing the potion as they submerged underwater.

The dark, crushing pressure of the deep ocean was the only thing Egg could feel as they kicked toward the glowing ruins of the Atlantis Temple. His oxygen bubbles were getting low, his potions of water breathing had just run out. His lungs were burning, but he kept on swimming until the massive sea-lantern pillars finally came into view.

The Temple  of Atlantis. Egg had heard about it when we was in the end, Parrot had already swept through weeks ago, giving away all the ancient treasures to the chungies of the server. Wemmbu talked a bit about it during their long boat ride. Its how he became friends with Jayden, the King of the Pirates.

Wemmbu led Egg to an empty wall on the left of the main altar, placing a red stone torch, the walls opened on his command and it closed as soon as the duo was through. Swimming deeper, Egg spotted two players, ManateeSwimmer and BlackMantar, they jumped at the sound of splashing water, their tridents raised until they saw Wemmbu's face.

"Wemmbu?" Manatee gasped, lowering his blade. "Your back! How are you! Did you find Old Man Linn? He helped you right? Did you defeat the law?" he asked, excitedly swimming in circles.

Mantar, the quieter of the two, gave them enchanted turtle helmets that allowed them to breath underwater and quit taking damage.

Wemmbu didn't brag about his escape. He didn't strike a pose. He just looked at them with a tired, sad smile.

"We're okay," Wemmbu whispered. He reached out, placing a steady hand on Manatee's shoulder. "But... we lost him. Linn didn't make it out of the stash."

The silence that followed was heavy. Manatee sat back down on a bed of moss, his head in his hands. "Not the Old Man. He was the only one who still traded with us after the war."

Wemmbu knelt down in front of them, his voice losing its usual sharp, arrogant edge. It was soft, almost protective. "He went out like a legend. He saved us. And I'm going to make sure that means something."

He reached into his pack, pulling out some of the precious supplies they had scavenged from the Pirate Civ, bread, some iron ingots, and a few stray potions. He pushed them toward the two players. "Take these. You guys need them more than we do right now. The Law is hunting us right now, they killed all the pirates, and they will kill you too. Stay hidden. Stay safe. I'm going to finish this so you don't have to live in fear anymore."

Egg stood back, his body gently floating in the underwater temple, watching the scene in silence. He looked at the way Wemmbu was speaking to these two, not like pawns, but like friends. A swell of pride rose in Egg's chest. He remembered when Wemmbu only cared about the next big fight or the loudest explosion. But here, in the dim blue light of Atlantis, he saw a leader. A person who finally understood the weight of the people who looked up to him.

"He's actually doing it,' Egg thought. 'He's becoming the person I know. Not who the server knows.'

Wemmbu stood up, his face hardening as he turned back to the center of the room. He pulled out the worn book titled The Final Plans

"Alright," Wemmbu said, his voice regaining its strength. "The Law thinks we're broken. They think we're hiding. Let's show them exactly what happens when they take everything from us."

He laid the book out on a flat stone. It was time.
