Chapter Text
It wasn't always like...this.
We weren't always rivals in the beginning. We used to laugh together, not at each other. We used to be happy with each other, not without one another.
It had to be done, Pierrot.
Years had passed since then, but it's clear he remembers it like it was yesterday. He isn't even doing a good job at hiding it around me. I've been living in guilt for what I've done, but at least I know how to hide it behind a witty mask.
It was a day like no other. Our circus arrives in town, people come for the show, the day ends. Repeat. Until Elowyn arrived, and that lovestruck-obsessed side of him slithered out from the melancholic personality he always harbors.
He became even more distant, as if he wasn't so distant to me already.
I don't even know nor understand why I still had the guts to look at him. But I know one thing — I still find comfort in him even if he treats me like something dangerous. For all I know, I get this random feeling, like a mix of fear and disdain whenever I see him approach or talk to Elowyn. And I ask myself one thing —
What do they have that I do not?
Sure, he has all rights to hate me. But he ate parts of her too. Why only blame me?
There I was, hidden deep in the crowd, just staring at him as he drifts away in a conversation with them.
