It’s been two months since team 7 was officially formed , during those two months, Sakura , Naruto, and Sasuke got to work on their teamwork , and together had completed an unknown number of D - rank missions , in other words they were:
“--Sick and tired of this shit ! “ Naruto yelled in frustration
The three had just finished another mission , which was nothing more than sorting out the garbage , or painting an elderly man’s fence , or finding a lost pet
“Hn” Sasuke agreed as he kicked a pebble nonchalantly
” We’re ninja ! We should be doing ninja-things ! not running random errands for no fucking reason !” the blue-eyed boy continued , his cheeks puffed up in anger , making his whiskers expand in size
“It’s not like we have a choice” sighed Sakura , sniffing her hair, which now smelled like rotten food and god knows what
“We’re newly appointed genin , in other words we are at the bottom of the food chain “she continued as she fished a piece of plastic from her hair
“But it’s nooot faiiiir “ whined Naruto for the nth time that day
“Life isn’t fair “ grumbled Sasuke glaring at no one in particular
“Anyway, do you guys wanna go have some ramen ??” Naruto suddenly twisted around in place , facing his two teammates with a smile , it was almost scary how fast he could change his facial expressions
“Um, thanks Naruto maybe another time “ Sakura winced, averting her gaze from him
“Ohh, come onn Sakura-chan ~ why noot “ he whined turning to walk backwards as he faced her and Sasuke
“Well, for starters, I really , really need a shower right now “ Sakura scrunched her nose in disgust
“Ohh, come on Sakura-chan ~ We all smell bad “ beamed Naruto, inching closer to the two of them
“Exactly, “ Sasuke frowned as he covered his nose
“Besides, we’ve just had ramen yesterday “ Sakura huffed , closing her eyes in exasperation
“And the day before “ added Sasuke , kicking another pebble
“--and the day before that “ Sakura went on
“and before that —
“Alright, alright I get it !”The blond yelled ,folding his arms “So what if we eat ramen everyday? It’s the best thing in the world !”
"-- It’s the only thing in the world that you can afford “ Sasuke interrupted not missing a chance to poke fun at him
“Hey now ! even if ramen was like supppper expensive, I would still eat it every day !! “
“With what money ?” Sakura blurted, she herself was super broke , after all slaving away as a genin only got you a few ryo’s at most , and her parents decided that since she was now an “official genin” she didn’t need any allowance
‘Dammit my money ‘ Inner cried ‘I really wanted to buy the latest edition of Edo sensei’s detective novel !’
“I guess I’ll just go on my own then “ Naruto deflated , his whiskers pointing down like a sad cat
‘Don’t look at him !’ Inner struggled as Sakura averted her eyes from Naruto
‘If you eat any more ramen you’ll be peeing orange !’ it went on as Sakura felt her resolve shake
“Later losers “ The Uchiha added lazily as he turned around with ease. Naruto’s puppy eyes had no effect on him
“Later jerk “ Naruto sighed as he looked to his pink teammate with stars in his eyes
“Sakura-chaan~
“No, “ Sakura bit her lips, eyes closing tightly, but she could still picture his broken expression
“Sakura-chaan~ he whined again, begging her to agree
‘Ughh, noo I need to take a shower , I’m not going to a food serving facility smelling like trash!‘ Inner spat
“I’m sorry Naruto “ Sakura gulped, turning around
“It’s okay Sakura -chan “ he replied dejectedly, no “~” at the end of her name
“See you tomorrow .” he left, turning around slowly
‘Dammit dammit !’ Inner yelled ‘Why can’t I be like Sasuke -kun!!’ it grumbled as Sakura opened her eyes to see Sasuke’s figure getting more and more distant
“Dammit “she swore as she turned to catch Naruto’s sleeve
“Sakura-chan ?” Naruto looked over to his sleeve and then to Sakura’s death grip , and his eyes instantly filled with tears

“Shut it “she spat
“I’ll eat with you but -
“I need to shower first ! and so do you “ Sakura exclaimed, pinching her nose
“--and we’re not having ramen !” she added in anger
“But ramen is -
“I know I know the greatest gift to mankind or whatever -
“Yeah! believe it ~
“But my kidneys can’t take that much sodium Naruto !”
“soodu -what ?”Naruto scrunched his face in confusion
“Never mind, anyway I’m inviting you so I get to decide what we’re eating !”
“You’re inviting me ?” Naruto spelled out , his face struck with shock
“Yes Naruto , but you need to shower first then we can -
“IT’S A DATE !!” Naruto yelled so loudly that Sakura’s ears went deaf for a second
“NO IT’S NOT ! WE’RE JUST EATING! “ Sakura yelled even louder, her face turning red from anger
‘This is why you should’ve ignored him’ Inner sighed
“Oh Sakura-chan~ I never thought you were the shy type ~ “ Naruto grinned showing his inhumanly sharp teeth
“I’M NOT FUCKING SHY NARUTO ! AND THIS IS NOT A DATE ! , I’M JUST INVITING YOU TO DINNER YOU FUCKING MORON !”

“Wow “
“You really can swear Sakura-chan~ “
“AND ENOUGH WITH THE SAKURA-CHAN~ BULLSHIT “ She huffed, catching her breath
‘I’m gonna get a fucking aneurysm’ Inner complained
“Whatever you say Sakura -ch-
“SHUT IT STINKY “ Sakura flipped , her hand covering his annoying grin
“NOW GO AND TAKE A SHOWER YOU FUCKING STINK !”
“Mmmph. “ Naruto nodded with a gleam in his eyes
“sigh I’ll meet you at six okay “
“mhhhmm “ he nodded again
“Good! and for the last time it’s not a date ! “ she added, removing her hands from his greasy lips
“Yes Sakura -chan ~”
“Fuck it whatever “ she mumbled as she turned to head home
‘You’ve really done it this time’ Inner grinned
‘Shut it’ outer replied , with no energy left to argue
‘What would Sasuke -kun say ~’ Inner grinned obnoxiously
‘probably nothing ‘outer sighed
‘--or something like Hm ,or Hn or any of his weird two-letter syllables’ Inner added
‘Yeah, probably’ they both agreed
Meanwhile Sasuke who was halfway home stood in place as he contemplated the less-than-important conversation he just heard from his two teammates
“Hn” he hummed
“Whatever “ he shrugged, kicking another pebble as he walked home .

“What are you wearing ?” Sakura blinked her eyes repeatedly as she stared at the fashion disaster standing in front of her
“Umm clothes ?” Naruto grinned sheepishly, running his fingers through his greasy hair
“I can see that “ Sakura pressed her temples tightly, taking a deep breath ‘Be calm be calm’ Inner chanted
“But why ? I mean how ?” she tried looking for the correct expression as she looked at Naruto puffing his chest out with confidence
If Sakura thought before that Naruto had a terrible sense of fashion , she didn’t know what to think now , the usually orange clad boy was currently adorning a wide variety of mismatched items
He was wearing his signature orange jumper but it was unzipped to show the white t-shirt underneath it, that itself would’ve been fine ,if not for the weird logo on top of it that made it look like it was a freebie from a fish restaurant with a blue fish that said (I’M A CATCH) , to make things worse he was wearing army green shorts with polka dot prints in red that felt like a visual illusion , and to top it all of, on top of his greasy hair (she could only assume that there was an attempt to sleek his hair back in a fight where his hair obviously won ) lay a pair of green goggles
“Cat got your tongue Sakura-chan ~ “ Naruto gave a wink
“Ugh. “ Sakura doubled over ‘I think I just threw up a little’ Inner shivered
“Umm Naruto “ ‘fuck what do I say ? and how do I say it nicely ?’ Inner panicked
“You don’t need to um dress up we’re not going anywhere fancy “ she spat fighting the bile rising in her throat
“Aww, Sakura-chan ~ how can I not dress up for our first not-date-date?” Naruto’s smile widened as he brought the goggles around his neck (as if that would help )
“Naruto “ Sakura snapped
“Yes!” Naruto straightened
“If you say the word date one more time you can say goodbye to your free dinner, understood ?”
“Yes mam!” Naruto gulped

“Change those pants “ Sakura huffed , deciding that she could stomach the rest of the outfit
“Should I just take them off ?” Naruto grinned , preparing to duck

“So, where are we going Sakura -chan ~” Naruto whined as he placed his hands in his pockets “casually “, he was now wearing his usual orange pants , keeping the neon green goggles around his neck
“We’re going to my house “ Sakura blurted , then regretted her words immediately
“Whaa- , Naruto tripped on thin air
“B-but Sakura-chan I’m not ready to meet your parents yet !-
“They’re not home don’t worry “ the pink-haired girl cursed herself as soon as the words left her mouth

“Wow, Sakura-chan, I mean, I’m flattered but it’s only our first d-
“SHUT IT “ Sakura yelped her temples bulging in agitation
“FOR THE LAST TIME NARUTO THIS . IS . NOT . A . DATE “
“We’re going to my house because we’re both too broke to dine out get it !” she added in a resigned tone
“And my parents are on their 3rd honeymoon, whatever that means , that’s why they’re not home okay !” she pointed at his forehead
“SO STOP THINKING OF PERVERTED THINGS OR NO DINNER FOR YOU “
“I got it Sakura -chan ~ “ Naruto smiled knowingly
“Besides, I never said anything about perverted thoughts-

“Sakura-chan, your house is a grocery store ? You must be rich ! “ Naruto exclaimed as he looked around the food aisle
“No, Naruto we’re just here to buy some things for dinner, “ the young kunoichi sighed, reaching for a grocery basket
“For dinner? What for ?” Naruto looked around at the fresh produce section, his blue eyes wandering with curiosity
“To cook it what else ?” Sakura replied inspecting some ripe tomatoes
“Wow Sakura-chan, you’re cooking for me !” Naruto blushed , his smile so wide it nearly split his lips
“No, we’re cooking! for us! “ she reached for some green onions before putting them back down
“But I don’t know how to cook “ Naruto stated the obvious
“What?” Sakura looked over Naruto’s confused expression
“What?” The blond raised his eyebrows to her question
“But you live alone don’t you ?” Sakura questioned with a hint of panic
“Yeah, but I don’t cook “Naruto shrugged casually
“Oh! But I can make all types of cup ramen !! “ he beamed “Iruka-sensei says I make the best instant noodles in the world !” he added with pride
“Then what do you usually eat ?” Sakura asked, already knowing the answer
“Ramen, of course !!” Naruto grinned as if he didn’t just admit to being severely malnourished and neglected
“Right “ Sakura smiled forcibly , her green eyes squinting with effort
“Then how about this time I cook and you help hm ?” she added gently , her heart squeezed
“And maybe next time you can cook on your own ?” she smiled softly, her eyes misty
“You know me Sakura -chan I’m always up for a challenge - believe it “ he gave her a thumbs up
“Uh yeah I believe it “ she added, giving her own thumbs up

“Oh Hinata -chan ~ what’re you doing here !” Naruto all but yelled at the cashier where the poor girl was queuing
“Oh-h I-I - n-Naruto -kun “ Hinata stuttered as her face instantly burst into flames
“Oh, Hinata-chan what a coincidence !” Sakura said cheerfully , it was rare to see the Hyuga princess around town
“Uh hi S-Sakura -chan “ she stuttered a bit less , as she waved shyly towards the pink -haired girl
“Are you also here to buy things for dinner ?” Naruto asked excitedly, ignoring the annoyed stares from the other customers
“Oh - n-no , I’m - j-just here to b-buy something “The hyuga replied with effort
“Idiot why would the Hyuga heir come to buy groceries “ whispered Sakura discreetly
“Ohh that’s right Hinata-chan ! you guys have servants and stuff !” Naruto yelled despite Sakura’s whispers
“H-Huuh ! “ Hinata jumped nearly dropping her groceries “N-no, I mean, w-we have s-servants - b-but w-we p-pay them and uh- I -
“It’s okay Hinata-chan “ Sakura interrupted , pinching Naruto’s earlobe “This idiot here was just joking ! Right Naruto ?” She glared at him
“What, no ouch! I mean, yes Hinata-chan, it was just a joke !” he smiled, trying to break from Sakura’s iron grip
“I-I see “ Hinata muttered , her voice turning small, before realizing that it was her turn at the cashier
“Say Hinata-chan ?” Sakura probed as they stood at the shop’s exit
“H-huh ? yes Sakura-chan “ Hinata replied hugging her grocery bag to her chest
“I was wondering , are you free for dinner ?” Sakura smiled innocently , her mind whirling with excitement
“m-me? yes I’m free. Why do you ask s-Sakura -chan “Hinata’s lilac eyes turned frantic as she looked between Sakura’s grin and Naruto’s clueless expression behind her .
“Oh! that’s wonderful ! Since you’re free why don’t you join us for dinner !” Sakura gasped, holding Hinata’s hands tightly
“J-join you ?” Hinata tilted her head in confusion , jumping at the sudden contact
“Yeah ! Me and Naruto !” Sakura added in a hurry, “We’re having curry at my house and would love to have you join us ! right Naruto ?” She nudged Naruto with her hips as he stood dumbfounded by her side
“Huh ? What?” Naruto exclaimed, holding the grocery bag as a shield
“I said that we would love to have Hinata-chan join us for dinner riiight Naruto-kuun ~”
“OH !O - OF COURSE HINATA -CHAN YOU SHOULD JOIN US !” the blond yelled, his survival instincts kicking in
“B-but I-I don’t want to intrude. “ Hinata’s blush went all the way to her neck
“Nonsense! The more the merrier! Right Naruto !” Sakura glared at him with her fake smile
“Yes! of course, come with us ! Naruto answered sincerely , Hinata might be a bit weird , but he liked how kind she was
Besides Sakura-chan might actually kill him if he brought up the date thing again
“O-okay then “Hinata squeaked “I’ll just drop these things home first !” she said in one breath without stuttering
“WE’LL WAIT FOR YOU AT MY PLACE !” waved Sakura excitedly
‘Genius’ Inner thought
‘With Hinata-chan there, Naruto will dial it down a bit with the “date thing” ’ outer thought in agreement
‘Besides, it doesn’t hurt to have the Hyuga princesses on our side,’ Inner whispered maniacally
‘I really am a genius !’ Inner and outer synced as Sakura dragged Naruto to her house
Unbeknownst to them, a slick shadow seemed to have accidentally followed them
“Tch “
“Idiots “ he huffed before disappearing back into the dark.

“WOW ! SAKURA-CHAN YOUR HOUSE IS HUUUGE “ Naruto gasped in awe as Sakura set the groceries on the kitchen table
“No, it’s actually pretty average, “ Sakura murmured before remembering that Naruto basically lived in a shoe-box
“I feel bad for not bringing a present or anything, “ Naruto hummed, scratching his hair
“And you also paid for all the food “ he added with guilt
“Hey ! This is not my money, it’s my parents money okay ?” Sakura hurried to explain only to feel that she stepped into a minefield
“I’m basically as broke as you “ She added nervously, her eyes darting around
“But when we usually go to eat ramen you all pay for yourselves, both you and Sasuke ! “ he frowned “So this feels a bit unfair “
“In that case how about this ?” Sakura smiled gently ,as she took out the potatoes to peel
“When you become the Hokage, and you’re filthy rich you’ll have to invite us for a really expensive meal “ she grinned, peeling the potato in one swift motion
Naruto stood for a while as he felt his eyes blurring. “Of course I will! Believe it !” he grinned, tightly closing his eyes to hide his tears
“Good, but no ramen !” Sakura pointed with the peeler
“No promises, “ Naruto laughed as he moved closer to help
“Man, these onions are really spicy “ he sniffled
“We didn’t even peel them yet? “ Sakura turned as she directed him to wash his hands
“So?” Naruto asked innocently as he washed his hands
“Nothing “ She breathed ,smiling despite feeling her own eyes dampening
“It really is spicy”

“So, Hinata-chan do you like your curry spicy or mild ?”Sakura looked at the Hyuga princess, slicing the vegetables neatly
“I-I usually eat it s-spicy since m-my dad likes it that way “ Hinata stumbled, as she effortlessly chopped the vegetables in front of her
“What about you Naruto? You like spicy food right ?” Sakura wondered as she washed the rice
“Yeah ! The spicier the better ! “ He yelled as he helped peel the carrots
“I usually have it mild since my dad has stomach problems, but since we’re cooking for ourselves, let’s make it spiiicyyy!!!!!’ Sakura grinned evilly
“Yeeeahh wooohhooo let’s make it suppper spicyyyy” Naruto exclaimed holding the carrot like a microphone
“-Uh -yeeah !!” Hinata squealed in an attempt to yell, her face turning red as a result
“Let’s burn our buttholes off!!! - Naruto yelled with even more enthusiasm
“NARUTOOO” Sakura bonked him with the soup ladle
“Oh sorry, Hinata-chan. “Naruto bowed as he gave her the peeled carrot
“-It’s -okay “Hinata replied with a smile ,holding back her laughter

“B-by the way “ Hinata chirped as she stood near the stove, stirring the curry
“W-why isn’t u-um Sasuke-kun h-here ?” she went on, as she glanced at the two sitting behind her
“Well--” Sakura mumbled , as she finished wiping the kitchen table
“We didn’t invite him !” Naruto said cheerfully as he stood too close to Hinata , making her almost topple over the curry pot
“It’s not that we didn’t invite him “winced Sakura with guilt, “it’s more like-
“He wouldn’t have come anyway “ Naruto finished with a huff.
“W-why not ?” Hinata tried to concentrate as she felt Naruto’s figure behind her
“Well because he’s usually busy or -” Sakura started
“--He finds us annoying “ Naruto finished
“He probably would have said something like ‘hn you guys have way too much free time , do you think I’m as free as you?’ Naruto mimicked as he placed his hands in his pockets
“No, no that’s too many words for Sasuke-kun “ Sakura argued “-- He’d probably say something like ‘tch sounds stupid’” she grumbled with a low voice ,resting her chin on her closed knuckles
“HAHAHAHAHA ! Sakura-chan! That’s really how that jerk talks !” Naruto doubled over in laughter
“hn annoying “ Sakura went on, bending her face at an angle
“HAHAHAHAHA ! stooop Sakura -chan! I’m gonna pee my pants!
“useless idiot” she added, glaring at nowhere in particular
“Oh my god HAHAHAHAHAHA I’m actually going to pee myself ! “Naruto wheezed
“B-but I saw Sasuke -kun? “ Came Hinata’s quiet voice

“What ?” Naruto and Sakura snapped
“I-I mean I saw him near the grocery store “ she added shyly
“a-and I think I s-saw him down the street -when I -came here “ she blurted her heart almost exploding , as she felt both Sakura and Naruto stare at her intensely.
“What street “ Sakura urged
“T-this- street “ Hinata squeaked
“What was he doing ?” Naruto asked in disbelief
“H-he was j-just standing t-there h-hiding “ Hinata revealed as Sakura and Naruto gave each other a look that said
‘NO FUCKING WAY ! ‘
‘SASUKE IS SPYING ON US! ‘

“Um, say Hinata-chan “ Sakura broke the tension “The curry is almost done right ?” She smiled politely
“Y-yes, I just need to add s-some s-seasoning “ Hinata nodded
“In that case can we ask you to wait here for a bit ?” Sakura’s smile twisted as she glanced towards Naruto
“S-sure, “ Hinata nodded, oblivious to the secret discussion between the two teammates
‘LET’S GET HIM’ the two idiots nodded towards each other before dashing towards the door
“Thanks, Hinata-chan, you’re the best !” Naruto added before running off
“Y-your welcome ?” Hinata questioned as she kept stirring the curry

“I don’t know who do you think you are, trying to sneak up on a Uchiha“ Sasuke smirked as he scanned his surroundings
“You better show yourself before I-
“OH MY GOD !! “ came the familiar obnoxiously loud voice as an orange figure all but crumbled to the ground in a fit
“HAHAHAHHHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH I REALLY AM GOING TO PEE MYSELF !” he cried with laughter, punching the floor
“NARUTO ! “ Sakura yelled as she revealed herself , her mouth contorting as she held back her laughter “ I told you we should pfft ambush him first “
“DIDN’T YOU HEAR HIS MONOLOGUE HAHAHAHAHHA “ Naruto wheezed, “ HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO HOLD MYSELF HAHAHAHHA-
“You’re hopeless pfft “ said Sakura as she took a deep breath to stabilize her voice
“Um, S-Sasuke-kun, “ She paused, steadying her voice “What are you doing here ?” she asked fluttering her eyes innocently

“Hn it’s none of your business “ Sasuke spat ,as he turned to the side
“HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA” Naruto and Sakura lost it
“DID YOU HEAR THE hn OH MY GOD HAHAHHA HE’S STILL TRYING TO ACT COOL HAHAHHA” cried Naruto with actual tears in his eyes
“SHUT PFFT UP NARUTO !“ Sakura struggled as her own eyes started blurring with tears “YOU’RE NOT HELPING “

“Whatever losers I’m leaving “ grumbled Sasuke, his ears turning red in embarrassment
“Not so fast Sasuke -kun~ “ Sakura appeared in front of him, grinning menacingly
“That’s right Sasuke -kun~ you’re coming with us “ Naruto mimicked as he stood behind him
“What do you idiots think you’re doing? “ The Uchiha swore as his eyes darted between the two
“Isn’t it obvious Sasuke -kun~ “ Sakura smiled as she inched closer
“Yeah, it’s pretty obvious “ Naruto added, cornering him
“We’re inviting you to dinner! “ They said in unison , their eyes gleaming with amusement
“But I -don’t want to-
“Too late “ Sakura grinned “You’re already here !”

“WOOOOW IT’S REALLY SPIIICY “ Naruto yelled as he shoved another spoon into his mouth
“Uh- s-sorry I - didn’t think it was going to be this s-spicy” Hinata blushed
“no no no no ! ~” Sakura hummed as she gulped a glass of water “It’s soo spicy but soo delicious !”
“YEAH HINATA -CHAN IT’S ALMOST AS GOOD AS RAMEN !” Naruto grinned ,his cheeks bulging
“What about you Sasuke -kun? Do you like spicy food ?” Sakura turned to look at her guest
“It’s fine “ Sasuke mumbled ,munching on his food in silence
“You must be used to spicy food !” Naruto nodded ,as he wiped his sweat “You’re not even drinking water or anything !”
“A-actually n-Naruto -kun water makes it more s-spicy “ Hinata lowered her head shyly as she nearly cleared her plate
“Waait what !!” Sakura coughed “No wonder my tongue feels like it’s on fire !” She stuck her tongue out
“But really Hinata -chan you don’t find it spicy ?” Naruto asked incredulously
“n-no this is actually m-mild for me “ The young girl ducked her head down, as she finished her second plate
“Amazing!” Naruto looked at her with newfound respect “Wow, you also eat alo-
“Sasuke -kun you okay ?” Sakura interrupted, as she reached to Sasuke’s shoulder
“Wha- what’s wrong with him !” Naruto turned his eyes wide in shock
“I’m fine “ Sasuke spat as he shoved more rice into his mouth
“But I just saw you flinch !” Sakura said with concern
“I said I was fine hiccup -
………………”
“Did you just – “ Naruto gaped
“No hiccup –“ Sasuke covered his mouth
“I-is it too spicy for you “ Sakura said automatically
“No hiccup it’s not spicy hiccup –“
“M-milk helps u-usually “ Hinata added
“It’s fine hiccup - I don’t need hiccup anything hiccup”
Sasuke’s ears turned beet red either from embarrassment or due to the spice level , Naruto burst into laughter accidently spraying rice onto Hinata’s face who was still apologizing for making the food too spicy , Sakura simply got up went to the fridge and brought Sasuke a glass of cold milk , which he initially rejected , before finally gulping it down to stop himself from being boiled alive
“So I guess you don’t like spicy food ?” Sakura added as they removed the plates , Hinata was washing her face , while Naruto was still rolling on the ground in laughter
“No, “ Sasuke said truthfully
“I don’t “
