Work Text:
Changbin is needy.
He doesn't like admitting it, but he is.
He always needs someone, someone to give him life and breath.
And she came along then.
He met her and fell in love.
Naturally, he began to talk to her. He befriended her with his irresistible charms. She was the one who pleased him, with her sunshine aura. He wanted her time, to be the special one in her life.
But he knows she only sees him as a friend. He doesn't want that, he doesn't want her to go either. He keeps quiet for a while, until he can't anymore.
He asks her out one night, she accepts and goes along with him.
He takes her to a small restaurant on the quieter side of town. They order what they want and then wait for their food. The two talk for a while, about life and other things.
"How have you been doing?" "Wanna try this?" "I haven't asked, What's your favourite colour?" "Do you like rabbits?" "You have any plans tomorrow?" "Wanna dance?"
"I've been good." "Sure, why not." "Blue." "Yes!" "No,"
She stayed silent on that last question. Had he really asked that?
"Wait, did I say that out loud? Oh gosh, I didn't mean it. Unless, well, you wanna? If you don't it's fine, we can just act like that never happened."
Well, she smiled at him–at seeing his face heating up–and nodded. "I'd love to dance with you, Changbin."
He smiled right back at her and nodded.
They both got up and (awkwardly) began dancing as a slow song began. Slowly, she got the hang of it, of being near him. Of being held while dancing.
It was a fairly small place, tucked in between other various stores and restaurants like this. It was empty as well, only a family and two other people in there. It was quiet, creating ambient for the situation.
Once the song ended, he sat down after her.
The two stayed in silence after your food arrived, eating slowly, quietly. Waiting. For... Something.
"Wanna be my girlfriend?", Changbin suddenly spoke out.
He glanced up at her
"I really like you, by the way in case you haven't noticed yet." He spoke quickly from embarrassment.
"Changbin-" she cut him off. "I like you too. Yes, I want to be your girlfriend."

After the rest of that quietly shared meal, they walked out of the restaurant, hand in hand. A fresh couple. How sweet.
He took her home in his car, music playing softly.
There was a comfortable silence, until he broke it by laughing quietly.
"What?" She says, looking up at him.
"It's nothing, you just look so pretty, I'm so lucky you said yes." He looked over at her with the happiest smile.
She smiled in return, her dimples showing. "I'm glad I said yes."
———
The rest of the days went on slowly, both of them enjoying each other's time and space.
They were happy together.
One always holding the other close, like they feared their partner would disappear if they let go.
And it was sweet, a soft thing.
It was like that.
Fin.
