Chapter 1: Good God Almighty

Chapter Text

CHEESEBURGER IN PARA-" As Tammy was going to take a bite of the burger she fell. "Tammy???" Brick kneels down, feeling Tammy's pulse slowing, "TAMMY!!!" Chadd entered the room, "What is going on here??" he asked furiously, he saw Tammy, on the ground, unconscious. "What did you do??" Chadd yelled. "Me?? I didn't do anything!! I would never hurt Tammy!!" Brick protested, he tried to wake Tammy, "Come on.. wake up already!" Rachel walked in hearing the commotion, "What on earth is-" she quickly noticed Tammy. "Tammy!!" she ran over, kneeling next to Brick, "What are you doing here?? Did you do this??" Brick shook his head, "Why is everyone blaming me??? I would never hurt Tammy!!" Rachel looked skeptical, she checked Tammy's pulse, "Oh my gosh..." Chadd scoffs, "I guess that's what she gets for not following her diet." "Excuse me??" Rachel said. "I told her no food until after the wedding, and she had one entire sunflower seed! Ugh, women." Chadd said walking away. "Where do you think you're going??" Rachel stood up. "Uh, I'm missing the game!" Chadd rolled his eyes. "You did not deserve Tammy," Rachel punched Chadd hard enough to knock him out, "Brick. You go call the cops. Now." "Oh, uh.. okay.." Brick scurried off, bumping into JD and Marley on the way. "Sorry!" Brick said. "Brick? What are you in such a rush for?" Marley asked. Brick couldn't help but tear up, "Tammy.. Tammy might be dead and- I'll catch you up later, I have to call 911!!!" he ran off, finding a phone and calling the cops.

"Why anyone would ever want to live in Cincinnati, I'll never know." Tully subconsciously rubbed his gris-gris, walking into the room finding Rachel crying. Realizing the urgency of the situation, he raced to Rachel's side. "Rachel? What's.." he looked down to see Tammy, instantly putting it together, "Oh, Rachel.." Rachel hugged Tully tightly, sobbing, she didn't even wonder about why he was there, she couldn't think straight at all. She couldn't believe she had just lost her best friend.

The cause of Tammy's death was quickly determined. Starvation. Rachel and Brick both were absolutely shut down. The funeral was the hardest thing in the world for them. Tully decided to stay in Cincinnati to be with Rachel to help her through this dark time. As did Brick. Rachel let the two friends stay at her place for the time being, Brick was blacked out on the couch, Tully saw it as a opportunity to talk to Rachel, he knew Brick wasn't waking up any time soon.

Tully gently knocked on the door of Rachel's room. "Rachel? You in there" Rachel sighed, "Come in.." Tully opened the door and walked inside, sitting next to Rachel. "How you doin'?" he asked her, concern in his eyes. "Awful.. I didn't think it would be.. so soon, you know?" Rachel looked down, "Oh, poor Tammy.. She deserved so much better." Tully nodded in agreement, "I know it's rough, but think of it this way. She had a great last week didn't she? And from what I can get out of Brick, she was happy in her last moments. I know it's.. sad, but she was happy when she went. Imagine if she had gotten married to that jerk, she would've been miserable the rest of her life. She went happy, and we should be happy about that." Rachel wiped the tears that began to fall from her eyes, "You're right. You're so right. Thank you, Tully." "Now, Tammy would want you to keep trying with that potato project of yours, wouldn't she?" Tully smiled. "Yes, she would," Rachel smiled, "I have to keep trying. In memory of her." Tully took off his gris-gris, putting it on Rachel, "Here. Maybe it'll bring you better luck than me. Not saying it doesn't work, after all, it brought me to you."
