Chaos & Cuddles

Summary:

Jeongguk was hopelessly whipped, stressing over his three-weeks-pregnant boyfriend, but honestly, Jimin wasn’t any less in love

Notes:

Just a brain rot, totally inspired by yesterday's concert🥹

Work Text:

The concert was nothing short of electrifying. Even now, with the stage behind them and the crowd slowly fading into the most beautiful memory, the high refused to settle down. It thrummed under their skin, in their bones, in the way their laughter came too easily and their steps felt lighter than air. The roar of fans still echoed in their ears as they made their way down the narrow stairs toward the waiting cars.

Four years.

Four whole years, and now they were finally back together, like nothing had ever been changed in the first place. Jeongguk looked like he might actually combust from happiness. His grin was borderline ridiculous, eyes glassy as he replayed the night in his head… The performance, the crowd, the sheer insanity of doing all of this again, together, at a place that felt too auspicious and grand to be real. They’d all agreed to split for a few hours, go home, crash, breathe, before the madness continued with their flight to the US.

There was no room to linger and laugh, no time to sit in the feeling and reminisce. But apparently, Jeongguk’s inner alpha didn’t get the memo. Greedy thing. His eyes kept darting around, restless, searching, because where the hell was his boyfriend? He turned sharply, a small frown creasing his face when no familiar scent reached him. The stupid scent blockers suddenly felt like a hurdle. He just wanted one thing, one whiff of that soft lavender that always grounded him.

“Eat something, alright?”

Jin’s voice cut through the haze of the alpha’s thoughts. Jeongguk immediately folded into him like a pup, clinging for a second longer than necessary, stealing comfort like he hadn’t just been on stage in front of thousands. Jin only chuckled, patting his back before heading off, leaving Jeongguk standing there, still buzzing, still searching. And then appeared his dearest omega. Jimin stood a little away, giggling like he hadn’t just ruined a handful of lives, carefully helping Namjoon with his crutch. Of course. Sweet, soft, everyone’s angel… except Jeongguk knew better.

That angel also had a mouth on him and zero mercy. Jeongguk watched as Jimin hugged Namjoon goodbye, all fond smiles and gentle touches, before turning to face him. He was glowing. Glowing brighter than any star in the universe. Blonde highlights catching the dim light, skin still flushed from the stage, that smile sitting pretty on his lips like he knew exactly what he was doing. Divine wasn’t even enough. Illegal, maybe. The moment Jimin reached him, those dainty arms slipped around his shoulders, like they had never left, and Jeongguk melted. Instantly. Completely. He wrapped his own arms around Jimin’s waist, pulling the omega closer than necessary, pressing his face briefly into the crook of his neck, as if he could still find that soft lavender beneath everything.

God, this. This was everything. The alpha felt alive.

“I missed you”

Jeongguk mumbled, voice low and whiny, almost swallowed by the lingering noise around them, only for Jimin to huff, fingers brushing the nape of the alpha’s neck.

“You saw me like… five minutes ago on stage, drama king”

“Doesn’t count! That was idol Park Jimin. I want my boyfriend”

Jeongguk shot back immediately, pulling away just enough to look at his boyfriend, eyes still shining like galaxies. A small smile tugged at Jimin’s lips, fond and teasing all at once.

“You are a bit too greedy, Jeongguk-ah”

“Always”

Jeongguk grinned stupidly, hands pulling Jimin even closer as the staff members checked everything, moving around them in a hurry. Reality crept back in slowly.

“I’ll go home, pack the rest, and sleep for a bit”

Jimin said as Jeongguk’s hand came up, twirling the omega’s long blonde hair between his fingers. Oh, he loved it so much.

“You should do the same. We’ll meet at the airport early in the morning, yeah?”

Jeongguk nodded reluctantly, but something in his expression didn’t completely agree with the statement. The smile softened into something more careful and cautious.

“Yeah… okay”

But the alpha didn’t let go. Instead, he glanced around quickly before gently taking Jimin’s wrist, guiding him a little away from the others, to the car Jeongguk was supposed to get in, just enough for a sliver of privacy, just enough for his thoughts to stop screaming.

“Hyung…”

He murmured, hands settling on Jimin’s arms, eyes scanning his face like he was trying to read something.

“Are you… okay?”

Jimin blinked, caught off guard.

“Mhm… why wouldn’t I be?”

“You were…”

Jeongguk exhaled, running a hand through his hair, clearly trying not to sound like he was overreacting.

“You were incredible out there. Like… ridiculously insane. You didn’t even hold back, and I just…”

Jeongguk’s hands slid down from the omega’s hair, instinctively resting over his stomach for a brief second before he seemed to realize and pulled back slightly, almost shy about it, with his cheeks turning pink.

“It’s just… you’re…”

The alpha lowered his voice even more, like the world didn’t deserve to hear it. Not yet, at least.

“You’re three weeks in, Hyung”

There it was. The worry that made Jimin’s gaze soften as he stared at his boyfriend, who looked more shy, flushing pink as if it were the first time he had heard about the little pup. It was endearing to watch Jeongguk stumble on words.

“I know it’s very early and you said you’re f-fine and the doctors said it’s fine, but you were jumping and spinning and… I just need to hear it again. That you’re o-okay”

Jimin stared at the alpha for a second before he cupped his cheek.

“Baby… I am okay. More than okay. It’s barely been three weeks. I’m not made of glass”

“I know, but you are way too pretty”

Jeongguk muttered under his breath, earning a tiny punch from Jimin.

“Shut up”

“What?? I’m serious”

“I know…”

Jimin smiled, leaning in just a little, their foreheads almost touching.

“And I love you for it. But I promise, I felt good. No pain, no discomfort. Just… happy as fuck”

That seemed to ease Jeongguk, his alpha calming down, even if only a little. His shoulders dropped, the tension bleeding out slowly.

“…You’ll tell me if anything feels off?”

“Immediately. You’ll be the first to know. Even before I panic”

That earned a small huff of a laugh from Jeongguk.

“Good. Because I will absolutely panic”

Jeongguk murmured, leaning in to press a quick, lingering kiss to Jimin’s forehead.

“Obviously. You already are”

Jimin teased, poking his side, and Jeongguk rolled his eyes, but his hands tightened briefly around Jimin, pulling him in for one last hug.

“Text me when you get home, Hyung”

“You too”

“And call me before you sleep”

“Jeongguk-ie…”

“And set like three alarms. I’m not leaving you behind at the airport”

Jimin pulled back, giving him a look, totally done with him.

“Relax, alpha. Staff’s there for a reason, and I will be there before you, watch!”

“That’s impossible”

Jimin only winked, stepping back toward his car.

“We’ll see”

And just like that, his angel walked away, glowing, but a menace. Jeongguk stood there for a second longer, watching him go, heart still racing as he stepped into his own car.

.

.

.

“You absolutely destroyed it out there… Holy shit!”

Jeongguk’s brother groaned, dragging a hand down his face like he was still recovering.

“All of you. It was insane. You looked, fuck, I don’t even know… Majestic or something. I was very close to crying, not even kidding”

Jeongguk let out a quiet laugh, shaking his head as he grabbed two glasses and poured them whiskey.

“You? Crying? I’d pay to see that, Hyung”

“Shut up! I was emotional, okay? Even appa looked on the verge of tears, mom was just jumping and screaming. Two years without seeing you perform and four years since all of you were on stage together? That was a spiritual experience”

“Dramatic”

Jeongguk muttered, clinking his glass lightly against his before taking a sip.

“Says the one who looked like he was about to propose to the crowd mid-song and bawl his eyes out”

“I did not!”

“You did. Actually, scratch that, you looked like you were about to propose to one specific person in that crowd”

Jeongguk went still for half a second before narrowing his eyes.

“Don’t start now”

“Oh, I’m absolutely starting. Where is he? Your glowing, angelic, centre-of-your-universe boyfriend?”

“At home. Packing. Resting”

Jeongguk answered, a little too quickly, as if that didn’t bother him, reaching for the bottle again just to have something to do.

“And you’re here?”

“I live here”

“Yeah, but you usually follow him around like a lost puppy, so excuse me for being surprised”

“You should’ve attended the concert at all, asshole”

Jeongguk rolled his eyes though his ears flushed pink.

“It’s actually embarrassing, Jeongguk-ah. You were literally scanning the entire area like a hawk”

“…I was just making sure he was okay”

“Right. That was a borderline feral expression you had going on”

“You’re exaggerating. Go to sleep, already”

“Is he okay, though?”

A beat of silence passed before Jeongguk’s brother leaned forward slightly, voice dropping just enough.

“He said he is”

“He said?”

“He went all out, and I was just worried”

.

.

.

The worry refused to sit still. Midnight came, the clock blinking 12:00 on the bedside table. It had been two hours since the concert, thirty minutes since Jimin’s last text, ‘going to sleep, don’t overthink’, followed by Jeongguk responding like a completely sane boyfriend with an obscene number of hearts. Seriously. It was embarrassing, but here he was wide awake. The alpha flipped onto his side. Then his back. Then the other side. Kicked the blanket off. Pulled it back on and just stared at the ceiling.

Nothing worked because his brain had decided tonight was the perfect time to spiral. Jimin said he was fine; he looked more than fine. The omega had absolutely devoured the stage like he wasn’t secretly carrying something so small and precious it made Jeongguk’s chest ache just thinking about it.

Three weeks. Barely there. Just a tiny whisper.

And yet Jeongguk was already gone and whipped for the tiny life. His hand drifted absentmindedly to his own stomach, as he could somehow feel it from here, like proximity worked through sheer willpower, and somehow their wolves would swap bodies instantly. Their pup. His brain short-circuited a little. No matter how many times he had thought about it, it still made him feel all giddy. A tiny, grumpy, probably dramatic little thing that would 100% inherit Jimin’s attitude. Or both of their personalities combined. That was dangerous.

The alpha snorted into his pillow.

The pup would giggle, maybe bite him once it starts teething. And then came the names, and suddenly he was deep in it. Names that sounded strong. Names that sounded soft. Names that would suit someone who was half angel, half menace. Names Jimin would approve of. Names Jimin would absolutely roast him for suggesting. How would the pup look? Big eyes. Tiny hands. That plump pout with a tiny nose. His heart swelled with so much emotion, and his alpha howled inside his chest.

His thoughts kept drifting, nurseries, tiny clothes, Jimin pretending not to cry, himself definitely crying without abandon, their members losing their minds, Jin acting like the child belonged to him, and at some point, the thoughts stopped making sense. They blurred at the edges, the worry slowly untangling itself into something calmer. Jeongguk shifted once more, clutching his pillow closer, a faint smile still resting on his lips as sleep finally claimed him.

And for a while, there was nothing except dreamless sleep. Jeongguk had no thoughts running in his head, and then a weight. Extremely faint at first, making the alpha brush it off, but then it turned more noticeable. A soft pressure settling against him, warm and solid, like something had draped itself over his side. Jeongguk frowned in his sleep, ignoring his wolf’s screaming, brows knitting as he let out a low groan, shifting instinctively. His hand twitched against the sheets…

And then, the scent of lavender. It hit him all at once… So soft, familiar and entirely his. Jeongguk’s eyes snapped open. For a second, the alpha just lay there, disoriented, heart picking up as his senses caught up with him. The room was dark, the faint glow of the clock barely illuminating anything, but he didn’t need the light to feel the warmth of the figure beside him. Curled right against him was his omega. His pretty boyfriend, who was supposed to be at his home.

Jimin’s arm slung lazily across Jeongguk’s waist, face pressed into his chest, like he hadn’t just appeared out of nowhere.

“Hyung?”

Jeongguk whispered hoarsely, voice still thick with sleep, but the scent was real. The warmth was real. Jimin shifted slightly at the sound, nose nudging closer into the fabric of the alpha’s shirt, fingers curling just a little tighter like it was instinct. Jeongguk’s entire body went soft.

“…you said you were going home!”

He murmured, barely audible, one hand slowly coming up to rest on Jimin’s back, pulling the omega closer like he was afraid he’d disappear if he moved too fast. A small hum left Jimin, sleepy and content, before he shifted just enough to tilt his head up, blinking at his boyfriend.

“I did. I went home”

Jeongguk frowned faintly, fingers running circles on the omega’s back.

“And?”

“And I missed you”

Jimin said simply, like it explained everything, and it kind of did.

“I tried to sleep. Didn’t work. My bed felt… wrong, I drove here”

Jeongguk blinked at his boyfriend, still trying to catch up.

“…you just got in the car and came here?”

“Mhm”

“In the middle of the night?”

The alpha questioned fondly, checking the clock, which read 2 am.

“Mhm”

Jimin cracked one eye open, just enough to look at Jeongguk, fond, a little amused even in his sleepy state.

“Don’t make it sound dramatic now, Jeongguk-ah”

Jeongguk huffed softly, but there was just pure warmth. Too much of it. His hand slid down instinctively, resting for a second at Jimin’s waist before drifting lower, hesitating only briefly until his palm settled gently over his flat stomach. Jimin stilled for a second, watching the alpha now, smelling his sweet sandalwood scent. The younger one just looked at that spot like it held the entire universe, thumb brushing softly over it before pulling up the sweater as he leaned down, pressing the gentlest kiss, like he was afraid of disturbing their pup.

“You’re unbelievable. The bump is not even visible, Gguk!”

“So?”

The alpha blinked up with doe eyes.

“So…”

Jimin poked his cheek, eyes finally opening properly now.

“You’re being ridiculously cute”

“I’m not being cute”

Jeongguk muttered, already defensive, even as he refused to move away, scenting the belly.

“You look like you’re about to cry over something the size of a tiny bean”

“Not a bean”

Jimin let out a quiet laugh, shoulders shaking slightly as he pulled the alpha up by the shirt and tucked his face back into Jeongguk’s chest.

“See? Cute”

Jeongguk huffed, but his arms tightened around the omega anyway, one hand still resting protectively where it had been, the other coming up to cradle the back of Jimin’s head.

“You should’ve called me, Hyung. I would’ve come to you”

“I know, but I wanted this. It feels cozier here”

“Is that so?”

“Mhm. I just… wanted to be with you”

Jeongguk exhaled slowly, pressing a kiss to Jimin’s hair, his nose, and finally one to his lips.

“Stay!”

Jimin hummed.

“I didn’t drive at ass’o clock to leave, idiot”

.

.

.

Morning rolled in as soon as their eyes fell shut. They were supposed to be at the airport by 9, and Jeongguk was wide awake as soon as the clock hit 8. However, a certain omega beside him looked extremely peaceful.

“Hyung…”

Nothing.

“Jimin-ah”

A soft, unimpressed hum echoed, and Jeongguk squinted at the lump in his bed, because at this point, that’s what Jimin had become. A very stubborn, very warm, very unmovable lump wrapped in blankets and Jeongguk’s shirt, face buried deep into the pillow like the world outside simply did not exist. He had felt comfortable and safe enough not even to stir.

“We have to leave in an hour”

Jeongguk tried again, poking his waist gently.

“No”

“…No? You don’t want to wake up?”

“Mhm… Five more minutes”

Jimin’s reply was muffled by the pillows.

“You said that twenty minutes ago, baby”

“Time is a social construct. I am sleeping for two”

That made Jeongguk laugh out loud. Jimin switched the words according to his convenience.

“We have a flight to catch”

“I am aware of our schedule”

Jeongguk stared at him for a long second before dragging a hand down his face, biting back a fond laugh.

“You’re unbelievable”

But there was no real bite to it. Not when Jimin looked soft, sleepy, completely melted into the mattress, breathing calmly like he had no responsibilities whatsoever. And worse, he kept shifting closer, not even letting Jeongguk get out of the bed. Every time the alpha tried to move away, Jimin followed, chasing the warmth, nose scrunching slightly as he pressed closer into the younger’s chest. Sandalwood and lavender filled the space between them, grounding and warm, and Jimin practically basked in it.

“Hyung… Baby…”

The alpha tried once more, quieter now, brushing his fingers through Jimin’s hair tenderly.

“We really have to go”

“You’re too warm and comfortable”

“I’m always warm”

“Mhm. That’s why. Your fault”

Jeongguk stared at the ceiling for a second, clearly reconsidering all his life choices, before he muttered a stubborn ‘okay’, shifting slightly. Then, without warning, he slid his hands under Jimin and pulled him up along with the blanket. Jimin jolted just enough to protest weakly.

“Jeongguk, what the hell?”

“Nope. We’re getting up!”

“I hate you”

“You love me”

“Pretty debatable”

Jimin rolled his eyes, and somehow, through all the whining, dragging feet, and Jeongguk physically steering the omega toward the bathroom at one point… they barely managed to get ready. Jimin was still yawning when they finally stepped out, long blonde hair slightly messy, sweater pulled up, looking like he could collapse at any given second. Jeongguk squeezed him closer.

“You awake, yet?”

Jimin blinked slowly, then leaned his head against Jeongguk’s shoulder as they walked down the stairs, in matching fits, representing their song.

“No”

Jeongguk laughed under his breath.

“We’re getting coffee”

“I need two cups”

“Deal”

Jeongguk leaned down and pecked Jimin’s lips, smooching him wet with a big grin. Still half asleep, still tangled up in each other, they headed for the airport.
