You were one of Nanami Momozono’s friends so that meant you two hung out often. You would often come over to the shrine with her. Surprisingly Tomoe didn’t mind. Normal right? Not exactly.
Every so often Mizuki would be at the shrine too. That’s what you knew since Nanami told you that information. What was odd was that it seemed like every time you were over he just so happened to be there too at the same place and same time.
You didn’t know if it was a coincidence or if he was doing it on purpose. No matter what it was, he wasn’t a terrible person to be around. In fact it almost seemed like he was extra nice to you.
You were over at the shrine after school tonight just like usual then you felt the presence of someone behind you. Mizuki. He surprise-attacked you with a hug from behind. “y/nnnn!” He exclaimed happily. “Mizuki” You replied. Gently patting the arm that was currently wrapped around you.
He released you from the hug and then stood up. Nanami was currently busy as of right now so it was just you and Mizuki. Alone. “Hey, come with me I wanna show you something.” He took your hand in his. His skin was soft and pale. His hand was quite warm though.
He took you outside of the shrine to show you all the plum blossom trees that had all bloomed quite beautifully.
A petal from one of the trees landed on your head. Mizuki noticed and carefully brushed it off for you. He smiled slightly before sitting down with you.
“Can I try something?” He asked innocently but you knew there was more to it. “Sure” You sighed. He then plopped his head down right in your lap. You squirmed a little under the sudden close contact.
He just smiled at you teasingly. He nuzzled into your lap. “Can I please stay like this?” he said with a slight whine to his voice. “Fine” You muttered. You gently ran your fingers through his hair.
He then pulled something from his pocket. A rock. A Very pretty one at that. It was clear and white, shiny almost. He handed it to you.
“What’s this for?” you asked him. “I found it earlier today, I was gonna keep it but then I remembered you were coming over…so I thought I would give it to you instead” he explained. He looked up at you.
His emerald eyes shining softly under the reflection of the sun on them. He looked so…beautiful like this. Almost like you had a porcelain doll in your lap instead of a dude.
You snapped yourself out of your daze and took the rock from his hand. “It’s very pretty, it matches your hair” You held it up to his pure white locks. “I’ll keep it, thank you Mizuki” You clutched the rock in your hand.
Even though it was just a simple rock it was still cute how he thought to give it to you. You then heard Nanami calling out to you two.
You jolted at the sudden surprise. “Now what are you two doing? I’ve called you over five times!” she exclaimed. You quickly moved Mizuki’s head off of your lap as she approached you two.
“Just hanging out, since you were busy and all” You spoke. A little flustered she caught you in such a state with Mizuki. After a few more minutes you went inside to eat dinner. After you were done eating you found Mizuki waiting for you.
“Mizuki” You said to yourself under your breath. “Hey y/n” A small sweet smile graced his lips. “Uhm..I’m gonna go get ready for bed now, goodnight…I hope you sleep well” You spoke. “Oh!,Goodnight, y/n!” He gave you that sweet smile again.
You felt your heart flutter a little. You then scurried off to bed. You felt all warm and fuzzy after that interaction. Even though it was a very short one, it still left your heart fluttering.
After that weekend you had to go back to school. You were really not in the mood. You fidgeted with your pen and gazed out the window, lost in your own thoughts.
Your thoughts flicked back to Mizuki and the interactions you two had at the shrine the other night. You thought about the pretty rock he had gifted you. You had been bringing it around with you as some sort of good luck charm.
You sighed. Just hoping class would be over soon. Then the bell finally rang signalling that your last class was finally over. You packed up your bag and left school, happy that the day was finally over.
You walked out of the school building and who did you see waiting for you nearby? Mizuki. “Mizuki, what are you doing here?” You walked over to him. Crossing your arms. “I came here to walk you home!” He spoke in that sweet voice like he always does. “Oh, I see,” you said.
You were a little surprised that he was so willing to do that for you. He linked arms with you and then started walking. “Wait, do you even know where I live?” You asked him. “Hm?, oh!, of course I do!” He exclaimed. “That’s a bit weird but I’m not gonna question it” you sighed.
“I’ve been carrying around the rock that you gave me, kinda like a good luck charm or something” you explained. “Really?” A faint blush spread across his face. “That’s good,” he smiled at you.
You felt your heart rate pick up a little when he smiled at you like that. You felt yourself warming up to him little by little every time you hung out with him. You actually wouldn’t mind being close friends with him.
You thought to yourself. You carefully rested your head on his shoulder. He stopped walking. “Y/n?” He spoke. “Is this not okay?” You didn’t want to make him uncomfortable.
Since you two hadn’t known each other for too long and you kind of got ahead of yourself.“No,no it’s fine I was just a little surprised that’s all” he explained. You then lifted your head from his shoulder only to realize that you were home now.
“Well goodnight Mizuki, sleep well tonight” you waved goodbye. “Goodnight to you too y/n!” He smiled and waved energetically before walking away.
You went to bed that night happy. Happy that you had made a new friend or maybe something more.
