Chapter Text
Sasha’s head was throbbing like some invisible force was hammering at her head over, and over, and over again. She was curled up in front of her bedroom door, hoping to stop anyone from coming in. -Even though it never stopped him.
She could hear the screams of her parents downstairs. This happened almost every night now. Sasha never understood how her parents could go from the best people in the world to her worst nightmare within a couple of months. Tonight she was unlucky enough to find herself in the middle of it, which resulted in her dad taking his anger out on her, although her mother screamed for him to stop.
A single tear rolled down Sasha’s face. She wiped her eyes and cursed at herself for being so weak. Sasha suddenly felt herself become lightheaded and her vision grew blurry. What was happening to her? Was this it? Was this the end?

Sasha woke up on the floor beside her bedroom door. She felt groggy and weak. The yelling had stopped and the house was silent. She stood up quietly to not disturb her parents. That was the last thing she wanted. She reached for her phone to see the time. It was 5:26 am. She laid down on her bed. Letting all the weight she was holding escape into the mattress. Despite all the terrible things her parents had put her through, she still hoped that one day things would go back to the ways they used to be. That her parents would go back to being the loving, caring parents she once had.
Sasha could feel herself drift off and before she knew it sleep had claimed her again.

Sasha woke up to her alarm beeping loudly. She bolted awake and quickly turned it off. Shit. She must have forgotten to turn it off. After a couple moments of silence she let out a sigh she didn’t know she was holding. They didn’t hear it.
She grabbed her uniform and backpack and got ready for school. Finally she could escape the house. She opened the door as quietly as she possibly could and looked around the corners of the hallway. She was safe. Sasha creeped down the stairs, making sure to avoid the creaky stair at the bottom of the staircase. She had gotten caught by it too many times.
Sasha ran for the door, not even stopping to grab something to eat. It was too risky. Her mom would be up in a bit and had probably been drinking again after the fight.
Sasha was relieved when she finally reached the bus stop. It was like a dream to finally get to escape the hell hole she was stuck in almost 24/7. Not that she liked school that much. It had too many stupid rules and Sasha wasn’t exactly the best student either. But it was an escape from her home life. From her parents.
At home Sasha was weak and reclusive, but here she was like a queen. Everyone knew who she was and no one got in her way. (Even though she didn’t have any real friends)
