Work Text:
Being a capo of the underboss Gabriel Angelini, a mystery to itself, Val had experienced it all with plans that turned south: murderous mobs, bloody battles, hell, the center of man's nightmare. The last thing she would've expected being taken away like a dog from the busted Fast Fashion week plan- a sleepover with Alice. Thinking back to the "foolproof plan" that they thought of, it needed a lot of patching up for it to be as successful as they wanted it to. Dealing with the Triad was shady business and Alice at that is a very--well-- complex person.
The connections that she has with the mob were very secretive and she he holds herself to a level that not even Val could put her finger on. It's admirable, really that she pulled it off that well, but to be here as her captive was one...interesting situation she go herself in. Not knowing her intentions, Val's expectations of "getting information out of her hostage" that were more gore-like, she'd rather be tortured to the bone than have to deal with Alice's twisted madness.
And now here she was.
In Alice’s territory.
In Alice’s clothes.
Honestly, a cami top?
As someone who is known for being in the fashion department in the mob, she truly had no taste. Val's thoughts were abruptly interrupted by a gleeful Alice holding up two pairs of pajamas, staring at the options like her life depended on it.
"Alright, now for me, which pair of pajamas? Orange or red?"
Val blinked once. Twice.
"…You’re asking me."
"Yes."
"I’m your hostage."
"Also yes."
"And this is what you’re concerned about..."
Alice tilted her head. "Presentation matters."
Val pinched the bridge of her nose, exhaling slowly.
"I’m going to lose my mind."
"This is going to be a long night," she muttered.
Alice's calm, joyful face turned stern,
"Though we're having a sleepover, you're still my hostage--"
Val scoffed. Alice was a formidable person, sure, but two could play this game. She spoke back,
"Oh, is it? Because I’m not seeing much threatening happening--" she leaned back slightly, "No torture, no interrogation… just questionable fashion choices"
Alice's menacing facade broke, turning childlike again, groaning,
"UGH. Stop being so difficult and pick. It's not that big a deal."
Val sighed, looking at the colorful clothing options in front of her face. She squinted her eyes like she was speaking a foreign language. Val spoke up, turning into a fashion wizard,
She's actually serious.
"…Neither," Val said finally.
Alice froze from her harsh, putting a hand to her chest. "Excuse me?"
"Neither," Val repeated, sitting up straighter now, tone shifting into something almost professional. "Orange washes you out. Red is too predictable."
Alice stared.
"You're kidding. Obviously either an indigo with some type of gold fits you the most. They're your signature colors. They...suit you in away. Simple yet intimidating."
Alice perked up, impressed due to her attentiveness. Out of the usual people she's kept hostage, no one's really had an eye for fashion unfortunately, knowing a majority of them were men, after all. She thought aloud,
"Good eye, darling."
Val shrugged,
"What can I say, I'm not only the brains of the group and you're an intriguing person to analyze--", she chuckled to herself "Take that as a compliment, but don't let it get to your head. That's the closet you'll get after putting me in this horrid camisole."
Alice smiled,
"Well, I actually think it looks pretty good on you."
Val huffed,
"Don't lie to me"
Alice scooted closer, wrapping her arm around Val's,
"Honest! You're showing more skin, you already look sexy, so..it fits well. Don't beat yourself up about it.."
The two stared into each other's eyes, realizing how close they were was before recoiling, a slight blush forming,
"Um--anyway, how about some movies or two? I can bring out the drinks before your cue to leave."
Val threw her hands in the air. If she was her hostage, she'd need a shot anyway to deal Alice's with insanity, so why not?
"Alright. Pass around the grappa."
Alice scoffed, rolling her eyes,
"You Italians.."
*****
Time passed and before Val knew it, she went from sitting on a chair, manacled with fuzzy handcuffs to sitting on the floor doing Alice's nails, gossiping while watching horror films. Though the last thing she wanted was to be in a room with Alice, she couldn't lie and say that she hated it, regardless of semi-feeling like she was Alice's slave.
Alice leaned to Val's ear, giggling to herself,
"Gabriel said what?"
"Yup. You'd believe that a mafia man would have a way with words, but nope. He can barely keep his spine straight when he's with Davina.."
"Sure she has potential and all, but friend-zoning and her accepting it as "professionalism"? Honestly, they're a lost cause. If he keeps on wasting his time on his "I'm too bad of a man and not catching on anything", then he might as well kiss his opportunity to have her goodbye. She's a catch and they live together. They're practically meant to be.
Val raised a brow, feigning to be jealous in a usual teasing tone,
"Oh, She's a catch? So what am I to you since I've heard you've been looking for female escorts and not me? Am I Nico?"
Alice cackled, a bit tipsy from the drinks. She leaned closer to her face,
"Oh I've considered you as an option before. Problem was you weren't in town.."
"Here I am", Val cringed realizing what she just said. It seemed like the alcohol was taking a toll on her brain; she didn't know what in the world she saying. She tried playing it off, "Oof. Forget I said that--"
Alice boldly tugged on her arm, running a hand up to her neck,
"Don't take it back...Valentine"
"Alright then.."
The two's lips met, cautiously like testing the waters before getting comfortable with said kiss and each other. Alice gripped Val's waist pressing on the small of her back and in return, Val clutched her jaw, deepening the kiss before they pulled away from hitting the arch of her living seat. The two came to a halt from the impact, gasping for air.
Alice smirked,
"Didn't know that you were one for the girls. You didn't strike me as a lesbian. Most of the time, you were with that Nico guy.."
Val snickered,
"Was there a way lesbians were supposed to look? Besides, Nico is a brother to me at the most. Over my dead body I'd be attracted to him. I'm a seductress, sure, but boys can be such a handful.."
Alice chuckled to herself,
"Tell me about it. Xiao Tu is...much to deal with. Probably not as much as your man but..you get what I mean."
Val sighed,
"Yeah..", Before Alice could say anything, she flipped their position, landing atop the couch, staring into her indigo eyes: her shade. Alice whispered seductively,"Bold..where were we again?"
Just before they were about to kiss again, Xiao Tu paced down the hall to inform Alice on the information he just gathered. He swung the bedroom door open to find the two tangled in limbs of knots on the couch, coming to a halt at the immediate entrance.
"Honestly, knock Bunny."
He blinked before blatantly responding,
"I see. Well, not to interrupt your.." he motioned to the two of them, not trying to seem disrespectful "intimacy, Brexio has been neutralized."
Alice's mouth hung open, groaning in defeat,
"Whyy? I had everything set up perfectly to ensure we ensued ties with the Bratva."
Xiao continued,
"The only point to the turn of events could be the Angelini's and ever since then, no one has seen or heard from Brexio since then so.."
Alice sighed,
"Well, since he's out of the software, there's no use of me keeping you. You're free to go then.."
"Next time, lock the door..", Val whispering to Alice before heading out the door with a wink, getting a slight laugh out of her. She headed to her motorcycle, taking in all of what happened at the "sleepover". Maybe it wasn't as bad as she thought.
Not at all..
