Chapter 1: FINAL BATTLE

Chapter Text

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. Fire spread through the whole city. Echos of ghastly laughter haunted. This had been the biggest ghost invasion since eternity. It had been planned for months by the ever so powerful Betrayus, at last it would be an end to yellow prick and everything he knew.

At the top of a particularly tall building stood three teenagers, ready for what comes their way. The one in the middle, the yellow one, chucked a couple of power berries into his mouth as the two beside him got their weapons and hoverboards ready. He looked upon the ruin that the bastard Betrayus and his army had caused. With slight hesitation he ran to the edge of the structure to fly, his friends followed behind.

Ghosts tackled the trio from all sides, although quite easy to fight off. The yellow one turned to his friends. “You guys hold them off, I got one mean ghoul to deal with.” Before he could fly off, Pacster felt his arm get tugged at. He turned around once more to see Cyli. “Pac…be careful out there…don’t die, please” She looked at him as she let go of him to fight the ghouls. “Don’t worry! I’ll be alright!” He smiled in a bittersweet kind of way.

In the middle of the city was a ghost, he flew above the world and watched the carnage his army had made. At the corner of his he spotted a familiar yellow face flying towards him at mach speed. The dictator blocked the kid’s punch. “You just don’t quit don’t you?” Betrayus growled as he pushed the boy away. “I’m never letting you win you monster!” Pacster shouted as he prepped for another attack. “Well, yellow scum, let’s see how this goes.” Betrayus let out a haunting cackle, it could be heard through the whole city. The two went at each other for overlords know how long. Punch, dodge, punch again, land hit, repeat. Pac knew that simply eating Betrayus wouldn’t work as he’ll just come back. The boy just wanted that bastard to be gone once and for all. He then realized he had the perfect way to defeat him. Pac flew towards him, but Betrayus had other plans. Betrayus reached into his ecto-coat. The sounds of a pistol was just enough to stop the hero in his tracks. Pac was already so close to the ghost when he pulled the gun out, he was an easy target now. “Bet you weren’t expected that now don’t you?” Betrayus snarled as he put his finger on the trigger. Before Pac could react- BANG. A bullet lodged into the hero’s chest. Blood pooled out of the wound and eventually his mouth. He couldn’t find the strength to fly anymore. But as he fell, the dictator wasn’t quite done with him yet. Betrayus seized him mid air, claws digging into his skin. He made sure that the he was the last thing the hero saw before he died. “Goodbye Pacman, no one will be there to miss you.” He threw the boy several miles. The hero hit the ground like a meteor. The ground was crushed by the impact. Blood pooled, vision blurred, everything was becoming dark. One last look at the sky, it was a deep gray with a scarlet touch, quite grim. Has his friends noticed what had happened to him? Perhaps not. Absolutely horrid, dying alone is the worst feeling, but the thought of Betrayus winning felt even worse. But it’s not like he could do anything about it anymore, Pac’s work is done. He closed his eyes.

Suddenly, a blinding light faced him. Is this heaven? Pacster blinked his eyes back open. He looked around, it was an empty void, but he wasn’t alone. A giant hand reached out for the boy. “Welcome dear Pacster, welcome to the afterlife” The overlord was comparatively larger than the hero. “…What, who are you?” He didn’t want to shake their hand unsure what would happen. “Oh that information is not important, no need for any questions dear Pac-Worlder” They positioned their own hands in a praying gesture and tilted their head. “Anyways, we’re so happy to meet you. Well, most of us” The being of light chuckled as Pacster watched in confusion. “Wait! No this can’t be it, I can’t be dead I don’t wanna be dead please I wanna go back!” The boy pleaded to them, tears flowed out uncontrollably. To Pacster, it felt as if he failed everyone he knew. “Oh, calm down my child-“ “Calm down? CALM DOWN?! I’M DEAD. WHY SHOULD I BE CALM?” In a sense of (rightful) rage, Pac interrupted them before they could even finish their sentence. “Oh dear, let’s not escalate this further. For I know a way to bring you back to the mortal world.” Pac’s whole body relaxed hearing that, but was still rather cautious. “Really…?” He tilted his head. “Yes, but it comes with a cost”
