Work Text:
Shinobu had never seen someone look so betrayed by a lunchbox.
Giyuu sat at his desk, staring down at the neatly wrapped bento like it had personally wronged him.
“Problem?” she asked, appearing beside him uninvited.
“…It’s not mine.”
“Did it bite you?”
“It looks too elaborate.”
She peeked inside. Perfectly arranged rice, colorful side dishes, even a tiny octopus-shaped sausage.
“Oh my,” Shinobu giggled. “Someone clearly loves you.”
“No one loves me,” Giyuu said immediately.
She blinked. “That was… not necessarily true.”
“I made plain rice this morning.”
“So you’re saying this magical, adorable lunchbox just appeared out of nowhere?”
He nodded.
Shinobu hummed, then turned slightly. Across the room, Tanjiro was very obviously pretending not to look at them.
“…I see,” she said.
Before Giyuu could react, Shinobu picked up a piece of tamagoyaki and popped it into her mouth.
“It’s good,” she declared. “You should thank your secret admirer.”
“I don’t have one.”
“Mhm,” she said, already stealing another bite. “Then I’ll keep eating this mysterious offering on your behalf.”
Giyuu watched her calmly dismantle the bento.
“…You’re eating all of it.”
Shinobu smiled sweetly. “You said it wasn’t yours, didn't you?”
