Rig was helping Janet set the small table she had brought out into the lobby. They put up some flowers, “It’s nice of you to host a little tea party for the others. I’m sure they’ll appreciate it.” Rig said.
“Of course.” Janet smiled, fixing the table cloth, “I know how stressful it is in their modes, especially when it comes to Mayhem and Chaos.” She grabbed one of the chairs and brought it over, “Jace and Judah do baffle me.”
“Ms. Zen, as the elder of the group, do you feel like some sort of… grandmother to everyone?” Rig asked, placing down the plates.
“Of course I do, apart from Jane, of course.” She smiled.
“Reprieve.” Rig nodded, “She’s a bit scary, but every other sinner here seems to love her.”
Janet laughed, “Oh, Jane, she needs to work on that resting face of hers. She looks so mean, but she’s so kind.”
The two talked for a while more, and once they finally finished decorating and setting the table, Janet set off to go and gather the others. She found John easily, beckoning him over and pointing towards the fountain, where the table was. John ran off toward it.
She found Jane in the shop, and directed her the same way. Jace and Jesse were near the Woed doors, and again she pointed to the fountain and sent them over.
Finding Jamie and Judah was surprisingly difficult. Janet thought that they must’ve been in a run, when she looked up and saw that they were just up near the Key Crowns. Skillfully, she managed to trimp up there, and directed them towards the fountain.
When she had arrived herself, Rig had shown everyone to their seats. Janet thanked him, and Rig happily skittered off to go and chat with the other sinners around. She sat down and looked at everyone, “I’m glad you all came!”
“Of course, wouldn’t want to miss anything planned by you.” Jane smiled, reaching her hand over to Janet’s.
She smiled, “Oh, stop it.”
Jace looked at all the food that was laid out across the table, “You really set up all of this for us?”
Janet nodded, “Yes! I thought you all needed a well deserved break from all that stress from your own modes, so I had Rig help me with all of this.”
Jamie looked excited as she reached for some cookies, “Everything looks amazing!” she took a bite of said cookie, “And tastes amazing!”
With that, all of the other sinners reached for the food and started eating and talking, Jesse bragged about finally getting a cross-rank for Clot, Jace mentioned he finally got past safe-room 8, Jane casually mentioned reaching floor 50 in her own mode. Everything was going exactly as Janet had planned, and she was happy.
“We should get together like this more often!” Jamie proposed.
Jesse nodded, “Yeah, this was fun.”
The thought of gathering everyone together again like this made Janet happy, “Of course! I’ll set up something like this maybe next month. I’m sure you’ll all enjoy it!”
“I’m positive we will.” Jane got up from the table, walked over to Janet, and gave her a lil kiss.
The tea party was a success! Janet felt so happy as she watched the other sinners walk off, seeming in a much better mood than she had found them in. She started clearing off the table, thinking about what she should do next time…
