Obsession, that's what it was.
Mike held what he wanted close, and Tommy was his. His partner. His duo, and to Mike's delight, Tommy knew it. Tommy never fought him, never left him; he stayed with Mike. He stayed with his claim. Mike claimed Tommy; it made Tommy irrecoverably his.
This obsession was borderline insanity, but Mike didn't care; he would fall deeper into the rabbit hole. Tommy was his illicit drug; he needed Tommy to live, to survive. He was hooked. Addicted.
"You won't leave me, right?" Mike asked, stroking Tommy's hair, his head in Mike's lap.
"Never."
"Good."
