Chapter Text
Sunday, June 11
Sherman and I are no longer a thing.
I think he actually cried a little when I told him I wasn’t interested in continuing that relationship.
I don’t know—I feel like it could have gone down differently. I might have been a little too harsh with what I said, but he seriously freaked me out with all those plans for a big wedding and a list of names for our future children. Like, who does that? Who has a whole checklist ready on the third date?
Obviously, I am sure I did the right thing by not letting it progress. I am dead convinced he would have set out to pick out an engagement ring right after our date if I hadn’t broken it off last night. And saying no to an actual proposal? Wow, I can’t even imagine that. That would be one ugly, messy breakup.
Luckily, that’s out of the question now. Sherman will cry for a couple of days but then he’ll get over it. He will have no other choice. I could never just settle down like that, not so soon.
What’s the point in being young if I get tied down to a man and never really try anything in life? And why can’t he understand?
I’m getting frustrated now, and I really shouldn’t. In a recent “WhooNoo” it said that you should spend more time one-on-one with nature, to look within and better understand your needs. I gotta try it. I will go to Lost Willow Park tomorrow and see if that rendez-vous with nature really is a thing. I guess even if it does nothing for me, it surely won’t hurt.
