Work Text:
Will had taken out Dustin to a fancy restaurant, and that was a risky step itself.
Somehow, Dustin couldn’t catch a hint.
Will tried to flirt every single time, don’t blame him.
Dustin just interrupted uncontrollably.

“Sooo... Dustin, I was thinking about how much I actually like spending time with you, and maybe—"
Will started, before getting cut off.
“Yeah, I like spending time with you too! Have you seen the decorations here?”
Dustin said, smiling and kicking his legs back and forth.
“Okay, but—“
“Hey, what’s that other word for extraterrestrial?”
Dustin asks, nibbling on his bracelet gently.
“Alien??”
Will motioned with his hands, already annoyed.
“No, Will. I am an American citizen.”
Dustin said, staring at Will like he’d been waiting to do that joke for years.
“Lord have mercy..”
Will looked away, embarrassed of the man in front of him.
“You know.. how Mickie Mouse and Minnie Mouse are dating? Well, I kind o-“
Will tried to flirt again, third time’s the charm.
“I went to a Mickey Mouse Killers concert once..”
Dustin started, getting a groan out of Will.
“Oh my god..”
Will muttered under his breath, pinching his nose.
“..I kind of could see the lead singer staring into my soul—“
Dustin continued, motioning with his hands.
“Who even are The Mickey Mouse Killers?!”
Will said in a strained voice, slamming his head lightly against the table.
“They’re these guys who sing about killing childr— wait, I don’t understand, why are you so frustrated??”
Dustin said, pouting slightly as he stared at the boy.
“Because I’ve been trying to flirt with you ever since we got here and you just can’t catch a hint! I love you, Dustin!”
He instantly covered his mouth, going red the second the words left his mouth.
“Oh. Uh, yeah— did you— okay, uhm.”
Dustin tried to ramble about a topic, but he kept stammering, making him go slightly pink.
“God, just shut up.”
That was Will’s final straw, as he gently held Dustins cheeks and closed the space between them.
Dustin let out a small surprised noise, before kissing back.
With nowhere to put his hands, he fidgeted with Will’s hair softly.
They didn’t care about judgement, this was their moment.
Will’s lips were soft and tender, Dustin’s were more rough and kind of damaged.
He could taste the chapstick Will used, and he giggled into the kiss.
Will gently placed one hand on the back of Dustin’s head, deepening the kiss.
He could feel Dustin’s lips curving into a small smile, indicating he did like it.
God, he loved him so much.
They gently pulled back, now it was Dustin’s turn to go fully red.
He couldn’t help it, he was smiling uncontrollably and shaking from the excitement.
“Will you marry me.”
Dustin blurted it out, flat and straightforward.
“What—? Wait, what? Dustin..”
Will giggled at the dork, covering his mouth.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry! If you don’t tell me you are romantically interested, then I wouldn’t understand! Sorry!”
Dustin said, his speech wobbly and snickery as he held Will’s hand under the table.
“It’s alright, at least your bad jokes got me to do it.”
Will smiled at him, giving Dustin a small peck on the cheek.
”Um, uh, I.. think I like you too.”
”Yeah?
”..Yeah.”
Dustin was the happiest man alive at the moment, and nothing could take that away from him.
No one could.
