Lily was determined she was going to find the guy she'd seen at orientation. She broke her stereo as an excuse to meet him, then went knocking on doors of the dorm rooms looking for him in order to create a little destiny.
One of them was answered by a young woman with a nose ring and what Lily couldn't help but notice was a tight t-shirt with "VAGITARIAN" printed on it. And she found the other woman more attractive than the bare-chested muscled man she'd found earlier.
Lily smiled at the other girl, pleased. The other smiled back and Lily then turned to go away, as the other wasn't the person she was looking for.
Although...
Lily paused instead of going away.
...the guy she was looking for would still be there later.
And she'd promised herself that at college, she'd finally explore her curiosity about and attraction to other girls.
Meeting this one seemed like...
"Destiny..." she whispered to herself.
Lily turned back and smiled more. "That's a lovely t-shirt you have," she said, "and I've always been interested in learning more about it."
The other girl also smiled more. "I'd love to go into it in more detail. Do you want to come in?"
"I really do," Lily said, following the other inside the dorm and closing the door behind her.
Destiny indeed.
