Astro laid in his bed. It was windy and cold outside today with leaves blowing everywhere. The sky was made of every shade of gray and the sun was nowhere to be seen. His room was clean and neat but too big for someone like Astro since he didn’t decorate more. He tried to cover his walls with posters to make it look less empty but it didn’t work.
It was the beginning of Winter break and unfortunately him and his family had no plans. They worked a lot this period so Astro spent time with his friends or alone. But it’s the time of year where most are traveling and spending time with relatives so most of his friends were busy too. He could have slept in more but it was already 1 PM, and he wanted to finally do something productive. Or at least fun.
He pulled out his phone and scrolled through his contacts, to see if there was anyone that wasn’t busy.
There was Vee, or I guess his girlfriend. She was gonna travel later in the week with her family so he should spend time with her before then. He has been crushing on her since 6th grade and they just got together in 9th. And he thought it was great, because he likes her. Or at least he thinks he likes her. Everyone says you’ll know when you love someone, you’ll just feel it. And he knows he feels something around her, he just doesn’t know if it’s really love. And judging by how she acts, he’s not sure she does too. She seems more interested in Shelly than him, but it seems that rather not point that out. Or think about that at all.
He tries to think of a message to send her.
‘Maybe something like “Hey Vee you wanna hang out rn” or is that too casual? I could be like “Hey babe you busy today?” Hmm… No... I should just start hi’
“Hi” He presses send.
“Oh hi astro. You need smth?”
“Would you like to hang out or go out with me”
‘Fuck why’d I say it like that? It sounds like we aren’t even in a relationship…’
“Maybe tomorrow. Me, shells, brightney, and her little cat girl gf are going to some theme park and then we plan to go to the mall.
Maybe tmrw”
“oh kk. Love you”
“Yea love u 2”
’Damn it! Why do all our interactions feel so damn awkward!’ Astro sighed to himself. They don’t feel like friends who’ve known each other for 4 years. Let alone a couple who’ve been dating for almost 2 years.
Well never mind that! He still needs to find someone to hang out with.
’Well I can’t hang out with Shelly, Scraps, or Brightney, since they’re all hanging with Vee… Razzle and Dazzle are on vacation.. I’m not sure how close I am to Boxten…’
He continues to scroll to his contacts list, but he’s either barely close to them, they’re busy today, or they traveled. Once he scrolled all the way down, a familiar name and face popped up.
Dandy.
’…’
Dandicus Dancifer.
’…oh’
He had him blocked him blocked since 6th and doesn’t plan on unblocking him soon. Yet he never found the strength to delete his contact either. He still looks through their old messages and laughs at them.
’I hate him, yet, I can’t help but miss him..
Who am I kidding, I don’t miss Dandy of all people! I don’t even care about him! …Right’?
Astro sighed and put his phone down. Maybe he’ll worry about that later too. He still hasn’t showered yet, not to mention how he also hasn’t eaten yet, and needless to say, he was starving. Plus maybe all he needs is a quick wash to clean his head.
He got some clothes out and slowly made his way to the restroom. He brushed his teeth before actually getting into the shower. He turns on the warm water as usual. But the thoughts of Dandy don’t leave. He turns up the water until it feels as if it’s burning his skin. It hurt but it helped get the thoughts out of his head.
Once he finishes showering he takes a plain Blue T-shirt and black sweat pants, along with a jacket. He doesn’t plan on going outside at the moment but you never what (Or who) might drag him outside.
After he finished dressing, he made his way down stairs.
