Chapter Text
Spoke, Planetlord, and Leow0ok all want to take down the invisible mafia that has been taking over the server. Spoke was supposed to be in exile but their friend, Mapicc, had been captured and they needed to break him out and climb the ranks of the mafia. Why? To get to the leader, Ashwagg, and kill him of course!
The three of the potted invis and snuck in to break Mapicc out of jail, but once they found his cell a problem had already risen. They couldn't bring all 4 of them. They had to leave someone behind.
"I'll give mapicc my armor and sneak out with you guys while I'm still invis, I'll be fine guys, don't worry!" Planetlord said happily.
The others came to terms with leaving Planetlord out of the mission, after all he wasn't exactly the strongest player around. The three of them walked into the town using invis and wearing the default armor. If they wanted to really infiltrate, they would need to act like new members. Each held an item they cherished in their offhands— a token of their identities in a town full of people who look the same. Fishbucket, Sword, and Chestplate. The unlikely trio went on various missions together, gathering ominous keys and climbing the ranks together. They got to copper easily, then iron. Everything went wrong at iron...
As per usual, the trio were doing their missions flawlessly, as if they actually did want to help the mafia. Spoke had been acting a little weird, saying odd things and going above what was needed for said missions, but they were all focused on the mission ahead. They were one mission away from gold when it all went south. In the mission book were three words they never wanted to hear: "Mission: execute Planetlord." They couldn't kill planetlord! That was their friend! They were the reason Mapicc was here! But although Leow0ok and Mapicc refused to kill him, Spoke had different plans...
"We need to kill him. We can't disobey the orders dude."
"No Spoke.. we don't need to kill him! We can just do the same thing as we did with Parrot!"
"THAT WONT WORK HERE! Last time it only worked because we were new.. YOU SAW WHAT HE DID TO THAT GOLD PLAYER! WE CAN'T GET AWAY FROM THIS!"
"We never set pearls, he can't kill us!"
"YEAH, WELL he'll just TRY to kill us, realize we don't have a stasis set, and then SEND 16 DIAMOND PLAYERS AFTER US!"
Mapicc and Spoke continued to argue, but Mapicc wasn't getting through to Spoke. Not fast enough. Through Mapiccs panicked words, Spoke raised his bow, arms shaking— though you couldn't see them shake due to the invis, and shot.
Planetlord was shot by SpokeIsHere
The death sound felt deafening. In the chat was the death message, Spokes name clear as day. Mapicc and Leow0ok were stunned. They didn't have much time to process what Spoke had done, as the gold player was bringing them back to the city. Mapicc and Leow0ok were disgusted. They didn't want to be working with someone who had just killed their friend for an organization they were trying to take down! They had decided to leave Spoke, and the two of them decided to confront him.
"We can't help you anymore, Spoke. You killed our friend! You killed your own friend! All for a mission that wouldn't be possible without him!" Leow0ok said, trying to keep his composure.
"You guys don't understand, everything im doing is for the mission ok? Im doing this because im GOOD. Planet would want us to kill Ashwagg! He would want us to get to dia—"
"WHAT DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND, SPOKE?? You killed Planet.! our FRIEND.. for.. for Ashswagg! Our ENEMY!" Mapicc said, cutting spoke off.
"FOR WHAT? A MISSION WE ALL AGREED ON?? WE WERE GOING TO DIE–! DIE IF PLANET WASN'T.." Spoke yelled back, but was unable to finish his final sentence.
"You didn't need to kill Planet for us to complete the mission." Leow0ok added, turning away from Spoke. Mapicc did the same.
"I don't even recognize you anymore. Who are you bro."
Spoke left the call and stood there in shock. Mapicc and Leow0ok flew off leaving Spoke completely alone in his iron trims. He had no clue what to do. His plan needed his friends. Why couldn't they just see his plan? They had to rank up to diamond together no matter the cost to get to Ash! But Spoke came to the realization that his friends were not going to come back for him. He has to do the mission solo. He would do the mission and prove planets death wasn't for nothing. He would make sure Ashswagg had no power left. NOTHING left. But to do so, he would first have to turn in his tokens, and become a gold player.

Ashswagg found the situation quite amusing. He knew Spoke wouldn't just stay in exile, but seriously? Joining the mafia?? Ash wasn't judging, but the situation definitely piqued his interest.
"Spoke claims he doesn't support the mafia," Ash paused, "but hes been ruthlessly efficient, and has climbed the ranks quite fast." He mumbled as he kept writing his book.
He knew something was up with Fish Bucket and the little group he had with him. Ash assumed the other two players were Mapicc and maybe someone else Spoke had grown close to. It didn't come as a surprize when 'Fish Bucket' was the only one of the three to return after the success of their last mission, an action that only reassured his previous theory...
"I see you're back, earlier than usual- where are your friends, Fish Bucket? Where did my unlikely trio go?" Ash said, making sure to intentionally mention his friends to see Spokes reaction. Just as expected, he could see Spoke shift at the mention, but he didn't have much of a reaction beyond that. That was also expected, considering Spoke clearly didn't want him knowing who he was. He knew Spoke wanted to kill him, but he also knew for a fact Spoke couldn't do anything, no matter how much he wanted to. He watched as Fish Bucket placed a sign and wrote: "They're just waiting for me"
Ash scoffed at that. Spoke took a step back.
He watched as Spoke rummaged through his E-chest, pulling out three upgrade tokens and handing them to Ash.
"One.. two.. three.." Ash said in an intentionally hushed tone before continuing, "Well then! I suppose you've earned this upgrade, haven't you?"
He dropped a golden chestplate to Spoke, who threw the iron one to the side and nodded his head with less energy than he used to have when ranking up previously. Ash dismissed Fish Bucket, watching him scramble to put on his elytra and fly away. Oh Spoke... you'll realize soon enough.
