Work Text:

When Heizou woke up after his drink was spiked by Kazuha that night. He was dazed at first, due to the drugs. Kazuha hadn't left him but he kept his distance. Not knowing how he would truly react to Kazuha basically confessing in the most strangest way.

He was slow to come to, the drugs still clinging onto him. Once those emerald eyes found his own he froze. His expression uncomfortably unreadable as the two stared at eachother in silence. The way a predator and prey look at eachother when they realize they've been made aware of the others presence.

Kazuha was anxious but he didn't show it much. He wanted to give Heizou the opportunity to react freely without feeling.. restricted to his own feelings.

It was way too long before the detective finally changed his expression. A smirk plastered on those beautiful lips of his, his eyes squinting with intrigment. "Wow. So you're the guy who uses my things but can't replace them." Heizou chuckled.

Kazuha blinked. Once. Twice.

Confusion blossomed all over his body. This was NOT what he was expecting. He tilted his head a bit. Heizou only laughed more but it was drowsy. His hands coming up to attempt to hide his smirk, which was absolutely pointless, but his hands were too sluggish to keep there.

"Kaedehara Kazuha." Heizou smiled, tilting his head the same way Kazuha did. Mirroring his movements. Curiosity beamed in his eyes. "I should've known. The way you looked at me when we bumped into eachother that day."

Kazuha's face turned a bit red and he looked away. "What's with you and the drugs though?" Heizou then said which only made the albino turn more red. Gritting his teeth.

Heizou opened his mouth to speak again but within seconds, Kazuha was moving to the bed. He watched him move torwards him intently. No fear or worry for what he might do to him. Nothing but excitement.

Kazuha crawled on top of him. A knife suddenly to his throat. Heizou stared up at him. The fact there wasn't an ounce of.. anything that indicated he was intimidated by Kazuha pissed him off.

"Do you realize the danger you're in? The danger you've been in since I showed up?" Kazuha's voice dropped. The sickeningly sweet attitude from last night nowhere to be found.

Heizou only tilted his head again, placing his neck closer to the oh so cool knife, "Is this you attempting to make me scared of you..? I mean.. I should be— terrified. Right?" His tone was mocking. That smirk being all too much.

Kazuha pressed the knife further against his neck, blood dripping onto the bed. Heizou winced but he didn't seem any more intimidated. It was nearly infuriating.

"You're suppose to be scared. I could kill you right now." Kazuha growled.

The man under him only laughed slightly, the knife cutting him more and dripping down to the bedsheets. His hand moved, Kazuha watched it closely as it went down to his pants. His fingers stopped at his crotch. Swirling around it before pressing roughly against it.

Kazuha's eyes widened, his posture weakened as he just very slightly hunched over him. Letting out a small groan. The knife was really started to hurt now so Heizou used this opportunity to grabbed Kazuha's wrist and pulled it away.

"Dammit-" Kazuha cursed under his breath. Of course. Of all times, he just had to be hard now.

"Tsk. Seems you need some help there, don't you?" Heizou giggled, his two middle fingers carefully massaging his groin that slowly grew as he touched him.

Kazuha couldn't help himself. The knife slipped out of his hands and fell onto the bed, his wrist still in Heizou's grasp as he began to motion his hips to follow Heizou's fingers. His eyes rolled back slightly.

Shit. He had successfully distracted him but it looked like he was enjoying this. What the hell is wrong with this man? Why wasn't he trying to get away? Kazuha knows he is well trained for this. It would be so easy. Yet he chooses to stay underneath him. He is choosing to touch him. Why?

Kazuha's hips moved closer, his thigh rubbed against something rough. He let out a shaky breath as he moved against it again.

The first moment of vulnerability. Heizou took it. He grabbed Kazuha by the neck, using as much force as he could, bringing his leg up underneath him, swinging him off the bed and onto the ground.

Kazuha was stunned but only for a moment. Heizou shot out of the bed, the knife swiftly in his hands but his legs were shaking. He wasn't as balanced as he wanted to be.

Heizou pointed the knife at him as he used the wall to steady himself. For someone in the position he was in, he was surprisingly calm.

"I know your name but what I don't know is who you are. Why are stalking me?" Heizou's eyes narrowed into a dangerous stare with a hint of curiosity remaining.

Kazuha didn't answer. He only stared at him, his mind going through every possible scenario with a plan on how to deal with it if things go south with Heizou. If he ends up getting the cops involved... who is he kidding, he is a damn cop.

"I asked you a question." His tone was more harsh. Threatening. In that moment, Kazuha choose to flee. He was quick. Usually, Heizou would be quicker which is why that wouldn't be an option but Kazuha has currently weakened him.

Heizou ran after him but he wasn't fast enough to catch him as quickly as he would like to. Kazuha made it to the front door, swinging it open and running into the hallway. Heizou was quick on his tail.

Kazuha made it to the elevator, spamming the button for the doors to close. Heizou ALMOST made it before they could close. He nearled slammed into the closed metal doors but was quick to recover. Running torwards the stairs that he practically flew down.

By the time he reached the lobby, Kazuha was two steps ahead of him and already put the door. Heizou ran after him. They ran down the street, Heizou was gaining his muscles back from his early morning workout. Kazuha turned a sharp corner, Heizou was quick to follow.

His persistence in this was scaring Kazuha. Of course, he knows what Heizou is capable of. He's seen it a few times with his own eyes but then again, what if he doesn't know everything?

Heizou was so close. He was gaining on him. He reached out to grab his shirt, Kazuha could feel the wind behind him picking up. Right before Heizou could grab him though, a child came out of nowhere, narrowly missing Kazuha and slamming straight into Heizou. Sending him flying to the ground.

The child was not hurt but Heizou could feel his skin scraping against the pavement before he finally came to a stop and just lay there on the pavement. His chest heaved, sweat dripping from his head as he gathered himself. Was the child made of steel??

Kazuha came to a stop when he gained some distance, his heart aching at the sight of Heizou being on the ground. He was worried. His body instinctively moved torward him before he stopped again, realizing that Heizou was also a threat.

Heizou sat up from the ground, his eyes finding Kazuha's. He looked almost surprised to see him standing there, staring at him. It was a brief moment of silence between them. That was until the mother of the child's voice was heard. She was asking if Heizou.

He took his eyes off of Kazuha to glance at her before looking back at where he once was. No where to be seen. This angered Heizou deeply. He had to contain himself so he wouldn't get mad at the child and the mothering.

After that embarrassing moment and apologizing a dozen times to them, he went back to his home, seeing the door had been left open. He was so pissed that Kazuha got away. He has never not caught who he was pursuing. Eventually, he always caught up. Darn that child.

He rubbed his eyes as he walked through his home to look for his phone. He froze when he noticed something in the corner of the livingroom. It's coloring was black but it was shaped like a long pole.

He picked it up slowly, unsheathing what looked like a sword. The sharp sliver of it shined brightly in the morning sun. He knows like hell he doesn't own a sword. Especially one like..

Heizou's eyes widened as his mind suddenly flicked to the current case he has been working on. This sword was reminding him of it. He brought the sword to his room, quickly getting dressed. He moved with a strong sense of urgency.

He carefully placed the sword in a duffle bag to hide it, bringing it to his car. He broke several laws as he raced to his job.

Being late was nothing new, the woman at the front desk greeted him and he greeted her back. He actively avoided Kujo who was already yelling at her subordinates. The duffle bag made it hard to move as freely as he wanted around her but it wasn't long before he made it to his office.

The exact case he was looking for sitting right on his desk. He opened it, scanning through the reports of what caused their deaths. All of them matching the same theory of the murder weapon being..

His eyes snapped to the duffle bag. His chest suddenly hurt. He unzipped the bag and took the sword out, examining every part of it. It was so so clean. Almost like it's never been used but he could tell. By the scraping of the blade, it's regularly sharpened.

The only person who has been in his apartment is Kazuha. Last night, he had finished investigating another murder that had happened that same day. Just at least an hour before Kazuha texted him. What if–

Heizou dropped the sword, his hands combing through his hair as he tried to reason with himself. He was beyond reaching with this crazy theory of his but.. Kazuha told him very little about what he does for a living. Something about, bringing justice to people. He was very subtle with it.

He automatically assumed he was somehow involved in the law but he never looked him up or did any kind of background track on him. Just how distracted was he? Kazuha had him nearly wrapped around his finger and had him forgetting basic things. Everytime he was around the man, all of his barriers were knocked down.

Heizou, out of a fit of anger, threw his chair across the room. He was.. he felt so much. Was his friend really.. a murderer? Was he.. was it him that was doing this? His chest felt tight. He invited that man into his home.

When he said he could kill him, he wasn't joking. He hadn't been bluffing. He was dead serious. His skin felt like it was pricking him. He felt sick. As much justice as he brings, he could never imagine ending their life like that. How can he do it and go on with his life so easily?

━━━━━━ ◦ ❖ ◦ ━━━━━━

Weeks passed. Heizou has been lacking lately. The case kept reaching dead ends. It was infuriating. After he found the sword, the killings stopped for at least 3 weeks before they started again but they were far apart now.

Was he being careful? Waiting to kill again only fueled his suspicions. He tried calling him and texting him. His number was no longer in service at the end of that day when he left his apartment so quickly.

He had no leads, no way of getting to Kazuha. No way of finding him. He was so frustrated. So angry. His colleagues have been avoiding him. They all do that when he's in a mood. It in no way makes his road block any better.

"Shikanoin." A voice spoke out to him. He flinched slightly, blinking before rubbing his burning eyes. He had zoned out while getting a nee cup of coffee and now it was cold. He was so tired.

He looked up to see his boss standing in the doorway with a concerned expression. It annoyed him. "Don't doodle please." Was all she said before walking out of the door frame and down the hallway.

He stared at the now empty doorway for a moment before throwing the entire cup of coffee away. He walked straight out of the station, no longer wanting to deal with the stress of any of it.

It didn't take him long to get to his car and drive to the pub closet to his home, just in case he would need to walk home.

Though, he didn't drunk very often, when he did, it was always with the intention to get wasted. He only ever felt good whenever he was drunk. Besides when he solved cases and got a cup of coffee.

It was lively when he walked through the doors. He really should've come with a friend now that he remembered it was Friday. The moment he sat down at the bar, finding a spot where he was out of everyone's way, the bartender came up to him.

Opening his mouth to speak, the words died on his tounge as the reflection of a certain blonde haired albino came in his view. He quickly turned away and no, he was not imagining things.

Kaedehara Kazuha was truly right there on the other side of the bar. The same man he has been struggling to track down for weeks just suddenly in front of him. Just a few stools away.

The bartender cleared her throat but Heizou was afraid to take his eyes off of him and lose him again. It didn't seem like he was going much of anywhere though.

A woman, much much taller than him and an eyepatch was sitting next to him. Her voice booming in the bar. There were others around them. She seemed to be saying something that intrigued them. Maybe it was because drunk people tell the most interesting and unbelievably dumb stories.

However, Kazuha seemed to be not paying much attention. His cheeks were flushed and he was leaning heavily on the bar. A glass of half finished beverage in front of him with cherries in it. His posture was lacking and that calmly demeanor he always held was currently no where to be found. Didn't he say he was a lightweight?

Heizou was slightly impressed with his conclusion, giving him some hope that he was still a good detective. No one else could really find these details like he could by just looking at them.

"I'll take a glass of dandelion wine." He finally spoke to the bartender. She wiped it up quickly and went on to the next costumer. Heizou kept his eyes on Kazuha.

The wine dripping down his throat was soothing almost. He didn't get drunk easily. The thought of Kazuha not being able to say the same made him giggle. He stayed where he was. Sipping on his glass.

An hour or two passed. Heizou didn't mind. He was enjoying his wine that he finally finished and paid for. His plans on getting blackout drunk were no longer in the question once he saw Kazuha was here too. A few sober words needed to be said with him.

Kazuha finally stood up from his seat, though wobbly and unsteady on his feet. No one saw him get up and walked straight out the doors.

Now was his chance. Silently walked passed and out the door behind him. Making sure to avoid the cameras that he knew were here but had very low quality. Nothing bad ever truly happened here so there was no need to push for them to get better ones.

The exact reason why this was going to be easy to do. No one would be able to track or follow him from the bar. He would at least have a few days to get away with this.

Kazuha stumbled. Conveniently, he stumbled more torwards the parking lot. Heizou quickly scanned their surroundings. No one was around. Those who were, were distracted. Not paying attention. Kazuha was starting to steer more away from the parking lot now.

Heizou sped up to him, grabbing his arm and guiding him torwards his car. Kazuha wasn't protesting but he was becoming a dead weight the more Heizou held onto him. He most likely didn't understand what was happening.

Kazuha groaned as he was shoved into the trunk of Heizou's car. Just in case, Heizou used his hand cuffs to make sure he didn't try anything before closing the trunk and quickly speeding out of there.

Mission successful. Heizou took a deep breath in the front seat. Now he'll finally get some answers. The dread of the truth that's been keeping him awake at night suddenly came bubbling back. He could only pray he was wrong but we all know.

Heizou's intuition is never wrong.

Kazuha felt stiff. His muscles hurt. Especially his nick. He lifted his head, expecting to be on a pillow but instead he kept leaning back till his back hit what seemed to be the back of a chair.

He tried moving his hands but melt scraped against his skin. His eyes shot open. Awareness and his hangover all hitting him at once. Where was he? How did he get here??

'This is bad' Kazuha thought as he looked around but paused. This place. He couldn't recognized it. It was some sort of wherehouse. His hands behind him, metal cuffs kept him from moving much.

"Just how long did you think you could hide from me? The all knowing and all seeing detective you so admire?" Heizou's voice cut through the suddenly thick air.

Guilt, fear and anxiety came crashing down on him. He felt nauseous. Heizou found him. He knows it. He knows he'll have to tell him–

Heizou shifted into his view, his arms crossed and his eyes narrowing dangerously at him. He could feel the daggers poking at his skin with that stare. Kazuha never knew how intimidating this man could be.

"Can't speak?" Heizou tilted his eyes, anger flaring in his expression.

"I-" Kazuha was at a loss for words. He was admittedly afraid. Not afraid of what might happen to him but afraid of what Heizou knows.

"Tch." Heizou sneered, walked into the shadows for a moment then coming back out with a small cup. Kazuha was confused. Heizou placed his leg on top of his own, restricting his movements more.

Two fingers were shoved down his throat, he immediately gagged and choked. Fingers pressed down hard, opening his mouth and throat. The contents of whatever is in that cup was poured down his forced open mouth and down his burning throat.

As soon as he swallowed, only then was he let go. Heizou backed away from him, using a cloth to clean his hands before setting the cloth and the cup down. "I gave you some nausea medicine while you were out so you won't be throwing that up any time soon."

Kazuha coughed. That stuff was disgusting. He leaned forward and blinked the tears out of his eyes. "W-what was it–?"

Heizou looked at him with a somewhat bored expression before smiling, "Well since you are so into drugging people, I gave you a truth serum. Won't last very long but long enough to get the truth from you at least."

He felt his heart almost stop. There was no getting out of this. He couldn't run and now he couldn't lie. Kazuha looked down at the ground lost in thought.

Something slammed on the floor at his feet which caused him to flinch. He recognized the object immediately.

"What is this, Kaedehara?" Heizou crossed his arms again, waiting for an answer.

Kazuha stared at it. He sighed in defeat, feeling the effects of the truth serum make him feeling slightly drowsy but more awake at the same time. "W-well you see- I- uhm. I know what that is, definitely. I just.." Kazuha was scrambling over his words.

He genuinely he could not think of any other way to word it besides the brutal truth. It was becoming difficult but tension was easing out of his body, making him slouch slightly.

Before he could think, he laughed. He couldn't help it. It was more of a nervous laugh but he did feel slightly drunk again.

Then, he was slapped on the cheek. The giggles quickly leaving his body just as they came. His skin stung. Heizou glared at him, "I asked you a question. I will hit you again if you don't start–"

"Okay! Okay okay okay okay okay." Kazuha incoherently interrupted him. He was sweating despite it being cold in this place.

"D-detective. I believe we both know what it is." Kazuha awkwardly muttered out.

Heizou leaned closer to his face, "I want to hear you say it."

Kazuha shivered, feeling his warm breath on his lips. He squirmed in his seat, tilting his head a bit. Not wanting to say what will destroy their relationship but it seems he's not been given much of a choice.

Heizou continued to stare at him, his eyes occasionally glancing at his other facial features before returning to his eyes again. He was actively studying every part of his being as he sat in front of him. Why was he so dizzy?

After a very long silence, Kazuha sighed in defeat. "Your suspicions are correct. The sword you have found is.. in fact mine." Kazuha then took in a deep breath as Heizou slowly backed away from him, slight dread in his expression, "I didn't mean to. I didn't want you to see it. I don't even know why I left it here. I should've hidden it outside somewhere. I wasn't ready for you to see that side of me yet. I didn't want you to know that I–..."

"That you what?" Heizou spoke quietly, the realization of what Kazuha is finally becoming reality for him. "You.. you-"

"No wait! Heizou! Please. It's not–" Kazuha felt himself shaking. The horror and sadness on Heizou's face was truly breaking his heart. He never wanted him to know that he was.. "It's not like that. I.. I have to do it."

"You have to kill those people..?" Heizou said solemnly, his expression showing more grief than anger now. He stepped further away from him. Each step he took away seemed to crack the now fragile tension between eachother.

Kazuha looked at him, Heizou looked back. He then nodded, "Yes. I have to kill those people." Heizou combed a hand through his hair as he turned away from him, "I go by commission but at times, it's for honor. For honor of the victims of their crimes. You know they all deserve it." Kazuha's brutal honest shocked Heizou but he knew he was right.

"Even so. That doesn't make any of what your doing right. You do realize I'm suppose to be actively looking and arresting you." Heizou rubbed his eyes, feeling exhausted from all of it. He's been up almost all night waiting for this man to wake up. Though, he knew this was going to be the outcome of it all.

It was quiet after that. Kazuha sat back in the chair but deflated in the chair. There was nothing more he could say than "I'm sorry."

Heizou blinked and looked at him. Kazuha looked back at him once more. Why did he have to look at him like that? Heizou grew frustrated at the sight but he also felt so conflicted. He finally walked around him, using his key to unlock the cuffs and take them off.

"You should go. Your people are probably looking for you. Best you get to them before they get to me." Heizou glanced at the sword on the floor before walking torwards the exit. Rubbing his eyes again.

Kazuha rubbed his wrist, massaging the skin that was constantly uncomfortably moving against the metal cuffs. Those are so uncomfortable. He watched Heizou walk away. Looking over at the exit as well.

He couldn't leave like this. Heizou was hurt. He knew what he was. He knows what he does. He knows how much harder he makes Heizou's life in general, it recently came to realization for him. He's surprised those handcuffs even came off.

Heizou almost made it out of the room before he was grabbed and pinned against some crates. Kazuha didn't let him go when he tried to fight him off. The struggle last all but a few seconds. Heizou too tired to keep it going. He was very slippery though, it would be too easy to slip out of the man's grasp.

"Heizou. Please. I'm sorry. I wanted to tell you. But you know how difficult that would've made things." Kazuha said, a hint of desperation in his tone.

Heizou stared back at him, his expression unreadable, "What difference does you still being here make? You've said your peace. Just leave–" Heizou shifted his body to move but Kazuha's grip grew stronger. It was beginning to hurt and only now did he realize that he might be in danger.

"No! I need you to understand. I do it for you." Kazuha stammered, "I- I do it to try to make things easier for you and the victims family. J-just–"

"Why are you so obsessed with me? You don't even know me!" Heizou snapped back.

Kazuha shoved him into the crates, "I do know you! I know everything about you!"

Heizou shoved him back. Attempting to pull away from him. They were now actively shoving eachother, "You think that's something to be proud of?? You're.. you're a creep!! You've been stalking me for months!"

This statement but very true fact angered Kazuha used his strength to pull on his collar and shove him into the ground, getting on top of him, tightly grabbing the front of his shirt, nearly choking him, "No!! That's not– I protect you! Do you have any ideas how many times I've saved your life!?"

"Tch yeah without my consent." Heizou hissed, kicking him in the stomach but Kazuha didn't give up.

Kazuha shook his head, his face burning with anger and tears at the corner of his eyes, "I am in love with you.." He muttered under his breath.

Heizou froze, "What..?"

"I'm in love with you!! I have been since the moment I set eyes on you. I made it my commitment to protect you but it.. it grew out of control. My‐ it became like an addiction I couldn't say out loud. I loved you so much that I could never approach you out of fear you would find out I was.. a monster." Kazuha cried, gripping too tightly on his shirt.

This confession didn't shock him as much as he thought it would. Part of him knew it but part him felt his own heart flutter. This man, this beautiful man that has been violating his space for months was now in front of him, pinning to the ground and crying out a love confession to none other than Shikanoin Heizou himself.

The thing was Kazuh was exactly like Heizou, just in a different font. They both seeked justice but had different ways of reaching it. Kazuha did the things Heizou couldn't and Heizou did the things Kazuha couldn't. How could he compete?

All of their time together. The gentleness and caring acts from him. He should've known. He also should've known that it was entirely too easy to fall for him back.

It made him laugh out loud. Kazuha froze. Heizou continued laughing. The lack of sleep was probably eating his brain. Kazuha tilted his head a bit in confusion, the tears in his eyes falling onto Heizou's clothes.

"You are the strangest mystery I've ever had to solve, Kazuha." Heizou chuckled.

Kazuha stared at him, waiting to see if there was any foul play in his expression but nothing of this sort was found. Nothing that Kazuha could pick at. Nothing but.. unseriousness. It was odd. He opened his mouth to respond but suddenly a door that was not in their sights was kicked in. Most likely one from the back of this place. The two of them couldn't see who entered but they could hear footsteps.

With the distraction, Heizou kicked Kazuha off of him with a force that left him stunned for a moment, groaning in pain.

"Kazuha!?" A woman's voice spoke, she sounded like the woman who had been at the bar the night before.

Heizou quickly jumped to his feet, looking around for these said people. It was 3 men and one woman, she was giving silent orders to them. He looked at them then looked at Kazuha, "Sorry about this."

Heizou then proceed to give one swift kick to his ribs, immobilizing him for sure before running off. Kazuha attempted to silence the pain but it was difficult, his lungs burned and his ribs felt bruised.

It didn't take long for someone to find him like that. They immediately swooped him up to check if he had any wounds. Once he was cleared for any life threatening wounds, the woman came and squeezed him tightly.

Kazuha let out a small whimper but that didn't stop her, "I was so worried. Did they hurt you badly? Are you able to speak? Search the area!" She spoke to the men behind her but Kazuha shook his head.

"There's no need. They are.." Kazuha fought with himself. Still feeling slightly affected by the serum that was slow to let go of him, "L-long gone. I am fine. I just want to go home." He said sadly.

She raised an eyebrow at him but didn't question him further. He was helped to his feet and hauled out of there. "We found your old sword. Where did you say you lost it again?"

Kazuha didn't respond. He was too tired and really bumped out. The only thing on his mind was Heizou.

━━━━━━ ◦ ❖ ◦ ━━━━━━

Heizou was thrown against the wall. The brutal hit forced the wind out of his lungs. He fell to the ground and lay there, stunned for a moment as he struggled to breathe. Gasping for air after 10 seconds of no sound coming from him.

"Damn you!" Whatever breath that he had been able to gain from those 30 seconds of being stunned on the ground trying to breathe was taken from him not long after.

A leg shot out at him and rammed into his chest. His body jolted up before slouching back down on the ground. His vision swam, blinking black spots away.

A chuckle from the other side of the room barely reached his ears, "You may have messed up our plans but now we can get rid of you for sure." He surprisingly wasn't scared. After all, this was a win he really needed after the past few weeks he's had.

Another swift kick to his torso. Heizou cough out blood on the floor. He groaned, his chest going up and down way too quickly. It hurt so damn bad.

A hand grabbed his jaw, a grip so tight it could break it within seconds. Eyes glared into him. Heizou's hands instinctively went to the man's wrist, attempting to claw his way to freedom. "You've crossed a fine line, Shikanoin. You're time is over."

He threatened. Heizou, despite all of the pain he was in, couldn't help but laugh at how silly they all looked. There was about 3 of them in the room with him. All very much pissed at him.

How could he blame them? Heizou had just ruined their way of making a living. Busting the hardest trafficking case there was yet to be at the Station was going to look amazing on his flawless record.

Too bad these guys think they'll get away with this. Even if he dies. He knows. His death will not be in vain.

Fortunately, it would not have to come to that. Glass was shattered. The sound of a swift wind breaking through the thick tension in the room. Skin being sliced.

Blood splattered onto Heizou's face as the man in front of him froze. Life quickly dissipated from his eyes and he fell to the ground. The other two men were startled and couldn't react before they too were on the ground in a puddle of their own blood.

There was rage in the man's eyes with the blade as sharp as his posture. "K-Kazu-" Heizou roughly coughed, his own blood on the side of his lips and subconsciously reaching out for the other man. Kazuha immediately turned to him, sheathing his sword and kneeling down to him.

His nearly glowing red eyes scanned him from head to toe. Giving a quick run through in his mind of any and every injury that had been inquired by these disgusting men.

Heizou flinched when he touched him, his eyes glancing at the men on the floor. Blood trailing the walls. He then glared at Kazuha, roughly pushing him away. There was a new kind of fire in his eyes with a hint of disgust. Kazuha looked almost irritated, "I didn't kill them."

"As if... g-get out of here. I don't.. need your help." Heizou spat blood at him as he tried to sit up but he was weak after not being able to breathe for such an unbelievable amount of time. It was a miracle that he was even still conscious.

Kazuha wasted no more time. He swooped him into his arms. Carrying him bridal style. Heizou sunk into his arms. Letting his savior bring him home safely after a job well done. It's not let he could say much about since he was on the verg of passing out.

Heizou was lay carefully on the couch. His savior left him there briefly, returning with a few medical supplies. "Get out." Heizou spoke, his breathing shallow.

A hand with 2 pills in it was shoved near his mouth. He couldn't protest or try to shove them away. Right after they were successfully put in his mouth, a cup of water was gently placed on his lips. A hand coaxing him to drink.

The meds were quickly swallowed. The water tasting unusually better than coffee against his throat. It felt so nice to feel the coolness of it travel down his throat and hit somewhere in his chest.

"Hah. Your hospitality is still not welcomed. Even if.. ah just leave me alone." Heizou huffed out once the cup was taken from his lips. He attempted pushing him away but his hands were shaky.

Kazuha's face was still tense and didn't respond to his harsh tone at the moment. Instead, he made Heizou remove his shirt and began tending to the bruises. Some of them had skin that cut open when he was kicked.

"What did you give me?" Heizou asked slowly, watching him place a cotten ball on the open wounds. It burned just slightly.

"It'll help with the pain." Kazuha answered after too many moments of silence.

Heizou did not like this answer but what could he do? He already swallowed and by now he was use to being drugged by Kazuha. It seems to be a kink of his but he doubts that he did that for his own pleasure just now.

These bruises on him were horrific and the adrenaline was soon to wear off. Heizou would wince and hiss every so often but that did not stop Kazuha from healing him. It didn't take long and by the end of it, Heizou could feel nothing but himself nodding off.

He was trying so badly to fight it. Knowing he had a report to finish. Not only that but also get this creep out of his apartment. Kazuha noticed this.

"Don't fight it. You need to rest." Kazuha's voice was gentle. It was hard to stay awake after that. His eyes shut on their own as if obeying Kazuha without his consent. It was so easy.

Kazuha couldn't help but smile at him. He always looked so damn adorable when he was asleep. It was so hypnotizing. He blinked and remembered what he was doing.

Looking away from Heizou's face, he quickly wrapped his torso up. There were no bruises on his back thank goodness. Heizou didn't squirm in his prodding. Thanks to the drugs. Not that he did it on purpose but he could have chosen something that would've had Heizou a little more aware. Maybe even awake.

No harm was done. He is safe now. That thought made his smile falter. He is safe now but he wasn't safe. Heizou was nearly killed and Kazuha came just in time. Any second later and..

Kazuha thought back to just how he knew he was in danger. He has nothing better to do with his day than follow up with Heizou. At one point, he had lost sight of Heizou. It took him way too long to find him again after that big bust he made with his job.

Those men. They had been running an under the table trafficking business. Heizou had tracked down their headquarters and nearly all of those involved, now in custody. All of the victims were saved and transported to a hospital.

If it weren't for Heizou, their lives would've been lost. If it weren't for Kazuha, Heizou's life would've been lost. He's glad it had the outcome it did but the fact that he was almost too late was aching his heart.

He lifted Heizou off the couch and brought him to his bed so he could sleep better. His body fell so easily against the soft linen. His chest rose and fell slowly. His features standing out in the moonlight.

"You are so.." Beautiful? Handsome? Breath taking? Any and every word Kazuha could think of. He couldn't just say all of them. He wanted to show this man just how much he loved him.

Even if he currently despised him. It ached his heart. His image forever tainted in his eyes. Something he never wanted. It's been about a week since he told him the truth. This was the first time they saw eachother since then.

This case had popped up and Heizou had been egar to solve it and it gave him an excuse to avoid Kazuha all together. He has been distraught. He wanted to see him again. He wanted to talk to him. See those eyes of his. His lips. God's he was so hot.

Kazuha waited out the night, laying in bed next to him but at a distance. He eventually fell asleep too but slept lightly. Part of his training.

Heizou woke at dawn. Birds chirping outside with the morning sun. He felt so incredibly sore. He shifted to turn to his side. He flinched hard when he saw red eyes staring intensely at him. It scared him so bad, he wasn't expecting it, "What the hell!?"

"Apologies. I didn't mean to scare you." Kazuha said calmly, blinking as if to look slightly more human.

The world around them froze once again as they stared at eachother. Both of them admired the other in different ways. Kazuha, very accepting of his undeniably hard core feelings. Heizou, still very much denying that there are any feelings at all as he distantly noted how his face never has a bad angle, even when he first wakes up.

Moments passed. Way too many of them. It was like being in a trance. Like this was there first time seeing eachother. Only, this was the first time seeing after knowing the truth about Kazuha. Right. He went against almost everything Heizou stood for. Yet how could he not fall for him?

"You should.. go..." Heizou mumbled while still staring at him. Feelings continued blossoming in his chest.

Kazuha didn't move his eyes away either, instead a small smirk came on his lips, "Is that what you really want, detective?"

Heizou gently gripped the bedding as he slowly nodded, gulping with a sudden need to feel Kazuha. The tension was making his body ache more as those red orbs stared deep into his own.

"You are impeccably irritating. I should–"

"Arrest me?" Kazuha finished his sentence with a cheeky smile. Heizou narrowed his eyes at him before sighing, "You can't distract me. You killed those men last night."

Kazuha groaned, "I already told you, I did not kill them in your presence."

Heizou raised an eyebrow, "But you did kill them? You went back out and killed them while I was asleep?"

"Did you want me to leave them there so they could get away and begin a new trafficking business?" Kazuha argued back, sitting up to appear more serious.

Heizou did the same but a little slower, "The law–"

"Wasn't going to stop them." Kazuha's tone changed. It become chilling, cold, "It doesn't matter if you locked them up. They wouldn't get put in bars fast enough or long enough tk protect the victims that weren't killed by these horrific schemes."

Kazuha glared at Heizou. Seemingly upset with this idea that the law will always bring justice, "You know as well as I know that those victims were never truly safe as long as they were still breathing."

He pointed to Heizou, nearly digging his finger into his chest. Heizou winced in response, "You would never be safe again because of them. They would find you and they would kill you eventually. Men like them, their egos are so giant, it's impossible for them to change."

The tension grew from playful to cold. He had nothing to say back to him because at the end of the day, Kazuha was right. He was justified. There are so many times the law has failed. So many victims of crimes who have to continue living in fear because of perpetrator was let free. This was one of the reason that had him questioning if becoming a lawyer would've been better.

Heizou frowned, his body physically deflated as any argument he had in him washed away. He turned away from Kazuha, bringing his knees up to his chest and wrapping his arms around himself.

"This is insane." He mumbled solemnly. Kazuha now had nothing more to say. They both sat there in eachothers presence.

Thinking about the other and their words. Kazuha, felt bad for Heizou. He hated that he has been put in this situation. Him knowing what he does was the last thing he wanted. Heizou, he doesn't even know to think. All he knows is that he feels better knowing that those men are gone. That fact irritated him. It made him feel disgusted and it conflicted with his morals.

What he also hated was that how much he had so quickly fallen for Kazuha. It was so embarrassing and annoying. His eyes glanced at the man who sat up next to him, staring at nothing. What an idiot. He has two choices right now.

Arrest Kazuha and call for backup, close the case once and for all.

That would seem like the more reasonable and logical thing to do right? Oh Celestia, what is he doing.

Or he can bury the case and control the situation through Kazuha, not having to arrest anyone but also keeping the community safe when the law fails. Kazuha was like the perfect pawn in this game for that.

The choice wasn't very hard to make since his feelings got in the way of everything. Even if Heizou still believed he was a creep, which most creeps are horrible but there are nothing like Kazuha.

"Alright." Heizou finally spoke, looking over at the man beside him, "I have a proposal."
