Work Text:
Daniela sat in her chair at the back of the rehearsal room as she listened to the advice and criticism being given by the coaches. As she sat there, she craved for a simpler time when her hands weren't purple from hours of dance, when she had time to relax and commit to friendships but that was a time long gone for poor Daniela Avanzini. After a couple of minutes zoning out, she was finally brought back to reality by the infamous three aka Megan, Lara and Emily fawning over Jonah David who was incredibly arrogant and annoying for such an attractive dude. He thought Daniela was a nerd because she spent her free time reading or drawing instead of crushing on him. But there was one thought in her mind which was how much she couldn't wait for rehearsals to finally finish so she could go on her daily walk.
Later that evening as she began to wander she quickly got herself lost in a random garden on the outskirts of town which was adorned with all sorts of gorgeous plants and flowers from lilies to roses and even orchids. Daniela (who had always been a curious girl) began to look around which eventually distracted her as the sun began to set in the sky. When she finally sat down, she began to worry about the fact she had no way home not noticing the cold presence hanging upside down from the tree beside her. She sat there thinking for a good 20 minutes until she finally noticed the ominous aura surrounding her.
"What on God's green earth are you?!" exclaimed Daniela as she jumped back almost hitting her head on the spiky fence behind her.
"I'm a vampire." replied the presence. This caused Daniela to back further away from the creature. "WAIT! Please don't go I won't hurt you I promise I just re-"
That was the final thing Daniela heard before her vision went dark leaving her laying on the soft summer grass. When she finally woke up she was in a soft oddly comfortable bed in an anachronistic palace as she adjusted to the dim light she noticed the little tea cup perched on the tail of the bed. "What are y-" and for the second time that day she had been interrupted. "Hi I'm Yoonchip the tea cup but my friends call me 'chip!" squealed the little cup sat on the luxurious bed sheets. The teeny tumbler led her to the wardrobe where she told her someone very important wanted to speak to her and with that Dani got dressed into one of the extravagant ballgowns little 'chip helped her pick. 20 minutes later Daniela stumbled down the stairs in a gorgeous, posh evening gown that didn't match her scruffy hair. As she finally arrived at the dining room she was greeted by a very peculiar, queer sight of plates and cutlery setting the table. But as she stared in awe she didn't notice the elegant woman coming down the marble staircase. The lady's voice echoed in the grand hall of the castle, "Greetings Daniela nice to finally be able to see you again after all this time." announced a very familiar voice that Daniela thought she left back home in Atlanta..Sophia the same girl she hadn't seen since the day she turned 12..
"Soph?" Daniela's voice came out too small for something so serious. The thing was Daniela was shocked to see that friendly face after so many months of seeing the cold hard faces of the other girls she trained with. She felt weak for feeling excited to see the face of the girl she used to see everyday until she went missing and couldn't be found. But now a more mature woman stood in front of her...one that had sharp glinting teeth that made her dearest friend look like a monster. Daniela should've been scared but she felt attracted to the girl's familiar presence. Daniela watched as Sophia sat down at the elaborate table then gestured for the younger to sit across from her. The pair sat her the entirety of that night talking and laughing with each other until Daniela's eyes began to droop. Hours later the afternoon sun crept through the gap in the curtains calmly awakening Dani from her peaceful slumber. As she began to explore the ancient residence she wandered into an outdated, dusty room with a singular lavish bed placed in the center of the room. After a couple seconds of staring at the bed, she finally saw a cold shimmering body curled in the middle of the bed. Daniela knew from the glow and long dark hair that it was Sophia in the bed. Days passed by fast in Sophia's creaking castle to the point Daniela forgot about all her adult responsibilities, the missed rehearsal and her worried family looking for her. But then a couple weeks later a letter arrived addressed to her, it told her that her father had been kidnapped and could be released if she paid the kidnapper 10 grand.
So one cold day she set out to the location desperate to save her father. The instructions led her to an expensive looking mansion hidden in downtown. Just as she knocked on the door she felt a wave of dizziness take over her until she lay unconscious on the rocky path. After what felt like hours of uncomfortable sleep Daniela woke up with bound wrists and a familiar face in he peripheral vision. It was her poor father Rafael. Daniela attempted to wriggle towards him only to realize her legs were locked to the concrete floor. She spent days trying to escape but by the 3rd day she'd finally given up until she heard shuffling near the door as it opened revealing Jonah who was grasping a small needle filled with a unusual purple liquid. He approached her father as he prepared to inject the liquid into him. After a couple of minutes, Jonah finally left leaving Daniela to watch her father's body slowly collapse. A couple of days after his death there was a commotion upstairs as the door swung open revealing one of Daniela's old coaches Mitra who collapsed just seconds after making eye contact with Dani. Just seconds later Sophia stumbled through the door with her lips and fangs adorned with red sticky blood. But just as Daniela went to speak she heard a voice from behind Sophia..It was Jonah holding another syringe filled with the same chemicals that had killed her father. "Oh Sophia...you were always too smart for your own good always decoding my plans before I could execute them but this time you caught on too late." He moved fast and Sophia tried to dodge the injection but it caught her shoulder sinking like a vampire's teeth. She collapsed onto the floor as Jonah backed away hands covered in Sophia's golden blood which was cutting into his mortal skin. "You horrible creature always ruining my plans!" he screamed crumpling to the floor. Daniela's chains finally snapped as she rushed forward to save Sophia only to realise she was already slipping away. She dropped to her knees beside Sophia, hands shaking so violently that she could barely focus. "Soph please wake up! No no no don't close your eyes just keep them open a little longer you'll be ok Sophia!" Daniela stumbled over her words as she did the first thing that helped in fairy tales...she lent down and gently pecked Sophia's lips and just like all the fairy tales she used to read as a kid Sophia slowly but surely regained the life in her eyes. But as Daniela sat there watching her wake up she came to the realization that she wouldn't have forever with Sophia but that didn't matter to her as long as she got to spend now with her she would be ok...Sophia's eyes slowly opened and in that moment Daniela was willing to sacrifice her idol career to become a vampire and live with Sophia.
