Work Text:
Isadora paces her classroom, preparing for her first lesson of the day. Which happens to be at 1PM, because her dearest managed to threaten Dort into cancelling her first three classes every day. It's a little disappointing that she doesn't get to wake up next to you, but at least she can sleep in, since she can't sleep at night anyway.
She places papers in front of certain instruments that will be used, arranges chairs in a circle, adjusts the curtains and such. Officially, it's a lunch break, but she woke up two hours ago and ate at home, so she's skipping it. She barely just sat down at her piano, when there was a knock at the door.
Isa would've wondered who it could be, but the door opened before she could do so. In walked the love of her life, carrying a folder and a laptop.
"I thought I'd check if you arrived safely." You note, placing things on Isa's big oak desk. She's about to get up and greet you, but you run over to her before she could do so; gently pushing her back down into her seat. "How are you?"
"I'm perfectly well, darling." She swipes her hand down her thighs, and covers her stomach. "We both are." She adds, smiling up at you.
You smooth her hair down, muttering out an "I'm glad." You're about to get lost in her eyes, when she speaks up again "But how come you're here? It's lunch, is it not? You should go eat."
"I'm fine. You're more important." You brush it off as if it's nothing. As if your well-being isn't as important as hers.
"Darling—"
"Hush. I'm okay. I had a quick meal before I came here." You press a tender kiss to the skin of her forehead, reassuring her to the best of your abilities. She doesn't quite believe you, but you give her no chance to doubt any of it.
"How did your morning go?" You question your werewife, every drop of your concern showing through your tone.
"Oh... it wasn't bad. Slept until 11..." She gives an embarrassed chuckle, looking off to the right. "Ate some fruits for breakfast. Stretched a little, like you taught me. And before you get worried; yes, I took my meds."
"As you should." You run your hand down her shoulder, a gesture that is no more than an excuse to touch her. "I'll leave you to your preparations. Meet me in the quad after your classes are over. Okay?"
Isadora nods her head, and the two of you share smile. You take a step back, but she grabs your sleeve before you could leave. She gives you no time for confusion; pulling you into a proper kiss that's all passion and protectiveness.
As your lips move against one-another, Isa's lipstick stains your own. Once you pull back, you take a tissue from your pocket and wipe your mouth down with a silly giggle, just so the students don't tease.
"Okay, I really will leave you alone now. I also have classes to prepare for." With a laugh as light as air, you crouch down to press one last kiss to lsa's bump, then wave in parting as you walk out the door.
Isadora holds her classes as she always does. Everything goes smoothly, now that students don't comment on her very obvious pregnancy anymore. It started with curious questions as her bump became more noticeable. Then came the teasing. Smirks and sassy comments, though never to offend. Then, there were the sweet ones.
Ones like Enid, who she passed by on her way to meet you. "Good afternoon, Miss Capri! You look very adorable today."
"Hello, Miss Sinclair. Thank you." Isa can't help but grin; fluttering her lashes, flustered.
"May I know how many you're having? Oh, I'm sorry if I'm being intrusive— Do you have name ideas???" The blonde questions, genuinely beaming with excitement and curiosity.
"Oh, uhm... we're only having one. And... I suppose we've thought about it, but I wouldn't want to tell you something so uncertain. We don't even know the gender yet..." She replies, not comfortable with sharing too much just yet.
"I see. Ooh, this is so exciting! Well, I have to go— I'm glad to see you around, Miss Capri!" Enid is quite literally bouncing with every step as she leaves, waving goodbye. Isadora does the same as she moves on. "Such a sweet girl." She thinks to herself.
She comes face to face with you at one of the huge stone pillars, and a sudden smile spreads across her face. "Hi."
"Mmh, finally. I was almost starting to worry." You take her hands and kiss along her knuckles, which earns you an eyeroll from the redhead, "Still doing okay?"
Isa nods, watching your gesture with a deep fondness behind her eyes. You've always taken care of her, but now that she's carrying your pup, she's being straight-up spoiled.
"So what would you say to a visit to the Weathervane?" You straighten up but hold onto her fingers, tilting your head as you wait for her answer. "I'm paying, of course."
Isa's pupils expand as affection floods her, and she mutters out an "I'd love to."
