Chapter Text

Lily is standing by the sink, overlooking the garden and the flowers that are blooming. She could see James, Harry and Henry playing and flying with their brooms. Their laughter brought a smile to her face. To this day, she can recall the moment they found out they would be having twin boys. They were both ecstatic. She remembers how happy their families had been of the news. Two new Potter heirs will be joining the family soon.

Harry and Henry, now seven years old, are both very smart, they take that from her, and both very athletic, which they take from James. They are so similar yet so different. Harry loves quidditch, and Henry loves to read. Harry is the oldest of the two, by a minute and a half, which he loves reminding his brother of. The most unique part of the boys is their scars. They both have identical scars on their faces, right by their eyebrows. Harry has it on the right and Henry has it on the left. The healers told them it was because the way they were positioned in the womb, and when they came out, they might have scratched each other, because they were being separated. Lily adores it. She loves those scars so much. They are in the shape of a half crescent moon.

She was brought to the present by an owl hoot nearby. She looked down and noticed a brown owl, with golden eyes looking at her while holding a letter in its beak. She took it and and gave the owl a treat from the pot next to the window where they kept them.

She looked down at the letter and saw her name written in a neat handwriting. A handwriting she hadn't seen in years. She looked up from the letter to look at the owl but it had left. She looked outside at her boys one more time, finding them up in the air playing quidditch, she turned to the letter in her hand. She opened it and started reading.

"Lily,

I know this may come as a shock, hearing from me after all these years, but I need your help. It is not easy for me to ask this of you, and I know that is my own fault and doing, but I am desperate and you are the only person who I can think of that can help me.

My son, Dudley just turned 7 years old this past month, and Vernon and I noticed something strange and weird, that remined me of you. This has been going on for a while but I honestly just didn't want to give it importance or believe it. Every time he gets a haircut, his hair grown to full length and even longer in two days. If he gets hurt by falling off his bike and gets a scrape on his knee, it's fixed a day later. Little things like that have been going on for a while, but I always thought he was just quick to heal.

But a week ago, when Dudley was very mad, he made the flowers in the garden levitate and change colours. He has never done that before. That moment reminded me of our childhood and that strange boy you used to hang out with.

I know I am the last person who you were expecting to talk to, or even ask for your help, but I do not know where else to turn. Please if you can and want, come to our house. We live on Number 4, Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey.

If you do not want to come, I understand.

Your sister,

Petunia."

Lily was in the middle of reading the paper for the third time when she was startled by two arms around her middle and James's head popping over her shoulder. "Hi honey, the boys tired me out. It's unfair, I didn't have my flying partner." said James. After not getting a response, he softly asked, "Lil?"

Lily didn't speak, she just turned so she was facing him and handed him the letter. She watched James's eyes moving to read the words, she watched his expressions carefully. She just watched her husband take this in. A second later his eyes met hers, and they had a matching look. James took a deep breath and asked, "Okay, so what are we doing regarding this? Are we ignoring it, or going there and assessing the situation?" Lily couldn't respond. That was not at all what she expected him to say. She was expecting anger towards Petunia. Honestly, she didn't know what she was expecting, but not that.

"I don't know what to do, James. Petunia and I haven't spoken since that meeting we had, remember? And even before that, we were very distant since I started Hogwarts. But I feel bad that she doesn't have a support system regarding her kid being magical. What do we do?" she asked him.

James took a deep breath and calmly said, "I know things are complicated, and not by your doing, but I think you would think about this forever and it would haunt you if you don't at least see what's going on, so, how about we ask Padfoot and Mooney to look over the boys one day next week, and we go down to Privet Drive and see what's happening? Together."

She looked up at him, found nothing but love and understanding. Looked around the house, looked at the pictures of them hanging on the walls, their family, their sons. She heard their laughter upstairs, and then looked at James again. "Yeah, that sounds fine, let's do this." she finally said. "I will write back to her to let her know. Thinking about it, I don't know how she sent this letter."

A week later, Lily was a mess. Walking back and forth from the fireplace to the couch, deep in thought. James was trying to get the boys to settle so he can put their coats on and get them ready for Sirius, who will be there any second. It was a Friday, so that means there was a theater showing somewhere in muggle London that Sirius and Remus would bring the boys to.

Sirius, being the rebellious child, loves muggles. He got a taste of how muggle London was when they were in Hogwarts, when Remus took him to a bar when they were 16 and he has loved it since then. He learnt to drive a car and motorbike. Whatever he thought would make his mother mad and angry at him, he did it. Tattoos? Lots of them. Piercings? You bet. And the most important one, being gay. He and Remus married right after Hogwarts. Sooner than James and Lily did.

The bell was what brought Lily to the present. She stopped mid walk, saw that James was still trying to get Henry in his coat, and went to get the door. Sirius was outside, leaning on the door, his eyes covered by his sunglasses. His black hair was long and down, framing his face. His eyebrow and nose piercings shining from the sun, and his smile blinding. He was wearing his leather pants and jacket, which meant one thing. "Sirius, please tell me you did not come to pick up my kids in that motorbike of yours." Lily said, trying to look behind his shoulder.

His smile got even bigger, "Oh come off it Lil, the kids love that thing. Plus I have made some modifications to it. It's safe, I promise." he said as he fully came inside. Before closing the door, Lily looked outside to see what the 'modifications' were. There, parked just outside, was the slick black with red stripes motorbike, but this time, there was an added part on the left side of it, that had two small seats in it. The shape of it was of a lion, there was a helmet in each seat, and seatbelts. Lily rolled her eyes at the shape and after taking one quick peak behind her to see if she was being watched, she send a couple protection and safety spells to that motorbike of his. Once satisfied, she closed the door and went to join her family.

"Really? A lion?" she asked him while trying to hold her laughter. The response she got was just a huge grin thrown her way. She rolled her eyes one more time before turning to her sons.

"Okay boys, I am pretty sure you are going to have a lot of fun with your uncle, just please behave okay? Your dad and I shouldn't be there for long, we are hoping to get back before dinner."

"Oh, no, the kids are staying with Remus and I for the weekend. We have it planned. Do what you have to do, and then have some time to yourselves. I don't know, try to give me a niece or something," he says and sends a wink her way.

Before Lily or James could respond, Sirius took the kids with a quick "Bye" shouted at them, and left. They both looked at the door with mouths open, stared at each other, and burst into laughter.

A second later, Lily remembered what they were going to do, and she sobered quickly. James was quick to give her a hug. She took a deep breath and they both made their way to the floo so they can get into muggle London.

It was showtime.
