Chapter Text
It was a Sunday morning, but it wasn’t a normal Sunday, it was my birthday!
It was weird to think about it like that, it didn’t really matter, for the past two years, my birthdays brought more nostalgia than joy, not because I was alone, not at all, but because above that, I was the one that left myself alone, so it felt bad to feel this sad about something I built with my own hands; and my loved ones payed that price, too.
But maybe this time it would be different, I was near to everyone again, I really felt safe—
I heard the door open, I shivered.
I came back to reality suddenly, maybe I thought wrong, what if someone was after me, I was about to stand up from my bed, when the door of my room opened, I froze.
“Happy Birthday to you— wait, you are awake?!” Ravi said.
“I mean, it’s a little difficult to not be awake when you hear your front door opening”
Ravi gave me a quick smile, that came with a muffled sound, close to a laugh.
He walked to my bed, and sat close to me, he had a muffin with a candle in his right, and a small bag on his left.
“Just for the record” I began saying “I was already awake when you came in”
“I knew there wasn’t any chance I could beat your alarm, but it’s Sunday, so I thought you would maybe stay in bed for a little longer”
It wasn’t fair for me to be with him after everything, but I will still work everyday to be the person that deserved Ravi Singh.
“Sarge, blow the candles, unless you want a wax-covered muffin”
I blowed the candle. “sounds good to me, thank you by the way”
After that, I hugged the boy beside me, giving him a small kiss in the shoulder, he gave me one in the top of my head in response.
“You haven’t opened your gift” he said as he handed me the bag he had been holding. “I have another one for you, but I’ll give it to you when we go to your parent’s”
“You didn’t have to give me anything, you already do too much for me”
“You deserve it, Sarge” another thing I didn’t believe, but I believed in Ravi, so maybe it was true, slightly.
When I opened the bag I thought that what was inside was just a letter he wrote, but when I picked it up and began to read, I noticed that they were two plane tickets to… Florida!!!
“Ravi! I told you not to give me anything this is amazing” I came to give him a quick kiss, he melted slightly in it.
“I love you” the boy said quietly, like a whisper.
“When are we going?” I asked.
“I thought about next month, it's summer, so you don’t have to go to classes, and I’ve already spoken to my boss about it, he let me have the week off”
“You are the best, thank you” I nestled against his neck, safe and warm.
