Chapter Text

Wonyoung sighed, it was another day of having to hear the professor speak for a lecture, she was filing her nails as she thought about what she should do when she gets out of here. Scribbling random words into her notebook to pretend as if she was paying attention, her eyes slightly shutting and her head slowly falling down to the table, drifting away as she lays her head down, she hears people starting to get up signaling it was over.

She decided to call one of her bestfriends, Winter. She took out her phone scrolling through her contacts before she called Winter. She watched as the phone, rang, and rang.

She saw Winter pick up. "Hello" Wonyoung asked. "Heyyy Wonyoung, why'd you call me?" Winter asked. "Can we hang out, I'm about to fall asleep with how boring it is right now." Winter could hear Wonyoung sigh over the phone as she said that.

"Come to the nail salon by Yuna's house, me, yuna and miyeon are there right now." Winter said, before hanging up.

Wonyoung put her phone back into her handbag before gathering her stuff and making her way into the parking lot, as she was walking down the hallway, she could hear someone calling out her name.

"Wonyoung, Wonyoung!" Hanni's voice called out.

Wonyoung turned around to face Hanni, jogging in her direction. She looked at her with a confused look, Why is she calling my name?

"Where you going? Let me come with you." Hanni said, wrapping her arm around Wonyoung's arm. "I'm going to the nail salon by Yuna's house, Winter told me her, Yuna and Miyeon were there." Wonyoung told her.

Hanni just nodded as they continued to the parking lot, where Wonyoung was originally going. Hanni rambled about her day, and how annoying her professor was. Wonyoung was half listening, and just nodding her head.

They got to Wonyoung car, Wonyoung searched for her keys in her bag, as she kept on looking through her bag she realized that she couldn't find her car keys. "Fuck, where did I put them?" Wonyoung said under her breath.

She realized she probably forgot them when she was leaving her lecture, "Hanni, can you wait a little longer? I think I forgot my car keys in my class." Wonyoung told Hanni, Hanni nodded her head and Wonyoung turned around making her way back into the building and into her lecture.

As she walked into her lecture where it was basically empty, it was just one girl. She wore all black, but as Wonyoung as walked down the steps, she spotted her car keys in the row above the girl.

She felt relieved and she made her way to get them, but as she looked onto the row where the girl was, she could see gloves and a mask inside her bag, Wonyoung didn't think anything of it, it could be used for a lot of things.

But the girl spotted her as Wonyoung was picking up her keys, she covered the view of her bag from wonyoung, and quickly gathered her things before leaving. Weird. Wonyoung was about to leave before she noticed the girl had left her id card, Wonyoung would've ignored it, it's not her problem but she was curious to see who this weird girl is.

She went to the row below her and grabbed the id card where the girl was standing, it read, "An Yujin" She looked ordinary but Wonyoung felt.. eefy. She didn't know why but she just placed the id card into her a pocket before she would return it to the girl, if she saw her again.

Wonyoung spotted Hanni, she was on her phone, unaware that Wonyoung is back. Wonyoung tapped her shoulder, which startled Hanni. "Hey, I'm back. Let's go." Wonyoung said, unlocking her car.

Yujin walks down the street, taking her phone out of her pocket, scrolling through her contacts, clicking on Giselle's impatiently waiting for her to answer. She continues to walk watching the phone ring until it abruptly stops, Giselle hung up on her. Yujin shoves her phone back in her pocket and picks up her pace.

She walks up to the apartment building, knocking on Giselle's door.

"Giselle, I know you're in there." No answer, but Yujin knows Giselle is in her apartment, you could hear her tv from all the way downstairs.

"Giselle! Are you seriously ignoring me?" Yujin can hear Giselle's footsteps walking up to the door, the door cracks open, Giselle peaks her head out, tilting it.

"What, I'm a little busy?"

"With?"

"Someone, it's none of your business, what do you want?"

"Money."

"Seriously? You interrupt me for money?" Yujin nods, holding her hand out. Giselle slams the door on her face, Yujin sighs before knocking again.

"How much do you want?" Giselle said, opening the door fully this time.

"₩225,000."

Giselle stops going through her money, looking up at Yujin.

"₩225,000? why the fuck do you need that much money?"

"You're the one snorting not me."

"Ugh, fine." Giselle puts the money in Yujin's hand, Yujin counts it.

"Do you seriously not trust that I put the right amount?"

"Is that a serious question?"

"Yes."

"No, I really don't."

"Wow, to think I finally built something with you."

"Please don't think like that, I can barely tolerate you as is."

"Well if that's all you need, I'm going back inside, I've got someone waiting for me."

"You've got someone over again?"

"Yea, what's it to you?"

"Let me see."

"Why do you want to see?"

"What, you got another one of your "friends" over here?"

"So what if I do? I'm grown, now can you leave, she's very impatient."

"Giselle!" The girl inside called out.

"Wait I recognize that voice."

"No you don't."

"Yea I think I do."

"You know what, you've got your money, have a good day!"

Giselle tries to close the door but Yujin holds it open, seeing the girl come to the front door.

"Giselle, what took you so—" Ningning glances over to Yujin standing at the doorway.

"Oh hey, uhm what you doing over here?"

"So you and Giselle are?"

"It's really nothing, she's just something to get me through my addiction." Giselle said.

"So you're using me?"

"No, I'm not!"

"I'll go." They both ignored her, Yujin walks away, still clutching the money in her hand, it's a little crinkled.Yujin puts the money closer to her nose, quickly moving it away, are you kidding? Why does this money smell like— oh wait it's Giselle, of course it does.

Yujin shoves the money in her pocket, Giselle was dragging out the conversation for so long the sun had started to set. Yujin walks down the street, back to her apartment building. She walks up to her apartment door, unlocking it. Yujin takes off her shoes at the door, throwing herself onto the bed, she takes off her jacket realizing something was missing— her id card.

Yujin sits up, searching through her pockets to double check, it wasn't there. Yujin falls back, looking up at the ceiling, her professor's class would be closed by this time, while she could always just go check and pray that she just left it there, she was really too tired to get up.

Yujin thinks for a whole minute whether or not to go, she decided to just wait until the morning, it's not like anyone took it. She rolled over to her side, eyes closing shut as she drifts off to sleep.

Yujin peaceful sleep gets interrupted by the loud noises coming from her alarm. She turns over to hit snooze, jumping up when she saw Giselle sitting on the other bed.

"What the hell are you doing in my house, no wait how'd you even get in?"

"You don't remember? You gave me your spare key, another reason why I thought you trusted me a bit more." Giselle glances down, mumbling that last part.

"Why are you here?"

"No reason, okay well there is a reason, can you help me out with something?"

"With what? I've got school, I'm still trying to get an education, unlike someone who decided to drop out."

"We all make decisions, I can always go back if I chose, anyways it's nothing serious, just stuff with Ningning."

"What does your relationship with Ningning have to do with me?"

"Well you started that argument we had yesterday, now you have to help me out."

"I don't have time to deal with your relationship troubles, plus I have something I gotta do today."

"Can't it wait?"

"No, it can not, now get out." Giselle gets up, slamming the door behind her.

Yujin sighs, getting up out of bed, throwing some clothes on and heading out the door. She walks to class, opening the door looking around for her id card, she didn't see it on any table, nor the floor. Yujin keeps looking around before someone taps her on the shoulder.

"Excuse me, are you looking for this?" Wonyoung pulls out Yujin's id card out of her purse.

"Why do you have my id card?"
"You dropped it, you left before I could give it back to you." Yujin snatches it out of Wonyoung's hand, putting it back in her pocket.

"You don't have to be so rude, It's not like I was the one who took it."

"I really don't care." Yujin goes to sit down, Wonyoung glances at her, why the fuck was she so rude? Especially after she was kind enough to give it back, she could've ripped it apart and fed it to her dogs.

Wonyoung just pulled out her notebook, and starting to take notes on what her professor was saying, but she couldn't pay attention she wanted to make Yujin feel sorry for being so rude towards her.

Wonyoung felt her phone ring in her pocket as she checked to see who it was, It was Miyeon. "Hey, you know that girl with the ID card you found yesterday, I just heard something crazy from Winter. Might want to meet us at the cafe after your lecture." Wonyoung left a thumbs up on the message, what could she possibly have on her as she stared at the back of Yujin's head.

Was it after they left yesterday?

After Wonyoung found her car keys, and picked up Yujins id card, she made her way over to the Nail salon. Wonyoung was driving, when she got a phone call from Winter, asking Hanni to pick it up.

"Hellooo, when are you going to be here?" Winter asking. "Sorry, I had to go back to my car keys. I left it at my lecture." Wonyoung explained. "Oh okay, see you soon." Winter said, before hanging up.

Wonyoung stepped out her car, as she parked at the Nail salon, grabbing her car keys and walking with Hanni. Through the window, she could see Yuna, Miyeon and Winter, Miyeon noticed them and waved. They waved back as they opened the door.

"You didn't tell me Hanni was with you too." Winter said, in a confused tone.

"Oh, she saw me down the hallways when I was going to my car, and she decided to come with me."

Wonyoung said, as she set her bag down on a nearby chair, and Winter just nodded.

"Hey.. do you guys know this girl?" Wonyoung said, before pulling out the ID card out her pocket.

"This girl named An Yujin, left her ID card and she's acting weird, If she's interesting. I want to toy with her." Wonyoung just smirked.

"No, but she looking boring." Yuna said, and the rest of them besides Wonyoung agreed. "I guess you guys might be right." Wonyoung sighed, she decided she would just return the ID card and look for someone else.

Wonyoung put the ID card pack in her pocket, and decided to pull out her phone as the rest of her friends just talked about stuff.

They were talking about doing their hair, before Winter abruptly had to leave.

"Guys, I have to give something to my friend. You will be fine without me, right?" Winter just smiled.

"Yeah, see you tomorrow!" Hanni said, and the others said their goodbyes and waved goodbye to Winter.

Winter walked over to the her car, she got in and drove over to her friend's friend house. Her friend Ningning was at her other friend's house, and she gave her the address and told her to just drop it off.

As Winter arrived at the apartment complex, she realized how it was slowly turning dark outside and she should probably hurry up. She got out her car, entering the passcode to the front and waiting for the elevator.

As she was waiting, she could see a girl standing beside her. She looked oddly familiar, but she couldn't put her finger on where she seen her from.

Winter became distracted and realized she accidentally want a floor below where the apartment was and just decided to take the stairs, she made her way up the steps, she could see the apartment from a distant but could also the girl that was in the elevator as well.

She decided to wait until she done, slowly eavesdropping on the conservation. She could hear the girl talking about snorting something and asking for money. What the fuck? Winter thought.
She also found out their names, Yujin and Giselle. Wait, yujin?! That's the girl on the ID card Wonyoung had showed them. That's why the girl, seemed so familiar, no way this girl was a fucking dealer?
Winter could hear Ningning voice as well, she was confused what was going on but she could hear the door close and starting panicking, what if she was caught eavesdropping?

She quickly patted herself down, went a few steps down the hall and acted like she was distracted on her phone, Yujin seemingly didn't notice and care as she walked right past her, and Winter sighed a breath of relief.

She waited a few minutes before knocking the same door, a pink haired girl answered the door.

"Hello, who are you?" Giselle asked.

"Oh, I'm Winter! Ningning friend, she told me to drop this off here since she wasn't home."

Winter told her.

"Oh, thanks! I'll give this to her." Giselle smiled at her, and Winter nodded her head before waving goodbye.

Immediately when she got into her car, she started texting the first contact in their friend group. Miyeon, explaining everything and they agreed to meet up with the rest of the friend group in the morning.

Wonyoung was still sitting in the same lecture, itching to know what they found out about this girl.

As the lecture ended, Wonyoung practically shoved her things into her bag before quickly making her way to the nearby cafe, she could see their friends expressions, they all looked smug or shocked.

Wonyoung pushed the doors open to the cafe, her friends pratically urging her to sit with them.

"What happened?" Wonyoung asked as she took a seat next to Sullyoon.

"The ID card you found yesterday, the girl Yujin is a drug dealer for my friend's girlfriend." Winter explained.

"Holy shit.." Wonyoung said, she just laughed. "I told you this girl was interesting, fuck. I want to find out even more about her." Wonyoung said, basically grinning ear to ear.

She grabbed her bags, telling her friends that she had to go figure something out, she went back to the college campus, she figured out Yujin was one of the top students, she was probably somewhere shoving her face in textbooks studying.
Her suspicions became true once she saw Yujin in the back of a Library writing down notes. Wonyoung decided what should she do. She's rude so approaching her would be hard, but that's the only option she had, maybe find out who her friends are.

She decided approaching her is the first thing she should do, she walked up to the table before sitting in the chair across from her.

"Hey, can you help me find a book?" Wonyoung asked her, smiling.

"You can't find it yourself?" Yujin said, not looking up from a textbook.

"Please.. I been trying to find this book."

Wonyoung said, trying to convince her the best she could.

I need a small break anyways. Yujin thought, plus this might be the only way this girl was going to back off from her.

"What type of book is it?" Yujin asked, walking around the Library.

"I don't know, I think like horror.. or non-fiction. Maybe something with drugs?" Wonyoung said, smirking.

Yujin looks up from the textbook, her expression visibly shifted.

"Have any idea about what it's about?" Yujin just continued to ask, trying to keep calm.

"Hm, I don't know? It just had something to do with drugs, do you know anything about that?" Wonyoung continued to get a reaction out of her.

"I don't know, sorry. I'm not sure if I can be of help to you."

Yujin said, turning around to face Wonyoung and just walking back to her seat.
Yujin sat down where she studying, Wonyoung sat down besides her this time. Yujin just sighed, what does this girl want?

"Heyy.. you seem smart. Can you help me study?" Wonyoung asked, knowing full well she was one of the top students.

"Do you need something? You want something for returning ny ID card?" Yujin asked.

"I want you to help me study." Wonyoung smiled.

"Cmon, I can buy you whatever u want, just help me study, alright?" Wonyoung told her.

That was convincing, she did need stuff for her gang.

"Only if it's at your place." Yujin said, and

Wonyoung agreed before taking her stuff. Yujin gathered hers and followed Wonyoung.

Yujin walks behind Wonyoung, They soon arrive at Wonyoung's house, Yujin glances over at Wonyoung and then looks back at her house. She wasn't kidding when she said she can buy me whatever I want huh? Yujin thought to herself, following Wonyoung inside.

"My room is upstairs, just follow me and try not to get lost."

"Yea, I'll try not to get lost in this maze of a house." Yujin looks around, Wonyoung lets out a slight chuckle before walking upstairs, Yujin following after her.

Wonyoung opens the door to her room, her room being as large as Yujin's apartment, rich people, Yujin thought.

"We can study on my bed, I really appreciate you helping me out."

"Yea, whatever."

Wonyoung scoffs, hopping onto her bed, patting the spot near her. Yujin sits down far away from Wonyoung, crossing her legs.

"Why are you sitting so far away? Come closer I'm not going to hurt you."

Wonyoung scoots closer to Yujin, Yujin backs up again, Wonyoung sighs and inches closer to Yujin, Yujin keeps backing up every time Wonyoung comes even an inch closer.

Yujin scoots to the edge of the bed, Wonyoung breaks the big space between them, Yujin not noticing how little space the bed had backs up, falling off, Wonyoung tries to grab her wrist to prevent her from falling but ends up getting pulled down with her. Falling on top of Yujin, pausing for a second before quickly getting up, dusting herself off.

"Uhm, let's start studying?" Wonyoung tries not to face her as her cheeks turn a soft pink.

"Yea, studying of course." Yujin gets up, sitting back down on the bed and opens up the textbook.

"What is it that you need help on again?"

"Oh yea." Wonyoung thinks, she really didn't need any help, she tried making up something random on the spot.

"Drugs!" Wonyoung said, Yujin looks up at her, confused.

"Drugs? Look if you have an addiction or something I'm not the one to help you."

"No uh… I don't have an addiction."

"Then why do you need help with drugs, you want to buy some?"

"Well, no—" Wonyoung thinks, "I'm taking a class that's talking about drugs, yea it's a class I'm struggling in very much."

"Huh, didn't know that class existed, mind telling me what class that is?"

Wonyoung looks around, why does she ask so many questions, gosh this will be harder than she thought.

"Uhm, it's just called drug class?"

"Yeah, you know what, I'll help you on your so called drug class."

"Thanks, I was wondering if you have any experience with drugs?"

"You already asked me this, no I don't."

"You sure?"

"What, do you think I cook crack for a living?"

"No I'm not trying to assume anything!" Wonyoung pauses,

"Even though you probably do…" Wonyoung mumbles underneath her breath.

"What was that last part?"

"Nothing!"

"Uh huh."

"Well uhm, do you have any experience with cocaine?"

"You know what I think it's my time to leave." Yujin gets up, closing the textbook and puts it underneath her shoulder, Wonyoung grabs her wrist.

"Wait, you know what I'll stop asking those questions, I swear just don't leave."

"Fine, but if you ask one of those stupid questions again, I'm not staying."

"Thank you, I promise no more stupid questions."

Yujin sits back down, opening back up the textbook, Yujin starts to read, explaining everything to Wonyoung. Wonyoung tries to keep Yujin's attention for as long as possible, asking even the dumbest questions she could come up with knowing she knew the answer to each one.

Yujin closes the textbook, it was starting to get late, she checks her phone looking at the time—It was already 9?

"Yea, I gotta head out."

"Wait, it's pouring outside!"

"It's just drizzling?"

"Uhm, well what if it starts to pour?"

"I can't stay the night here, I'll be leaving."

Wonyoung looks down, shuffling with her fingers,

"You can just stay for a little longer—"

Wonyoung looks up when the door closes with a loud bang, realizing Yujin had already left. Rude, she could've at least let her finish first. Wonyoung gets up and follows after her quietly, Yujin doesn't notice, too caught up on meeting someone.

Yujin walks down the street, looking up as the rain starts to pour harder, Yujin curses under her breath as she picks up her pace, Wonyoung prompts up her umbrella, trying to make as little noise as possible, she wanted to offer Yujin her umbrella but it probably wouldn't get the brightest reaction out of her, so she decided to keep it to herself.

Yujin walks up to this small trailer park, taking her phone out of her pocket, texting someone, Wonyoung tries to get a closer look on who she was texting, assuming it was the person inside the trailer park.

The person inside the trailer opens the door, a random middle aged man, Wonyoung assumed she was just selling again, Yujin walked inside the man's trailer leaving the door open, Wonyoung sees her looking around and quickly hides behind a tree.

Yujin looked back at the man pulling something out of her pocket, Wonyoung looks at the inside of the trailer, the man looked scared, why? Wonyoung then looked down at Yujin's hand, is that a gun? Wonyoung's heart dropped, her hands started to shake, why would she own a gun? The man backs up, scurraging through his pockets, pulling out some money and handing it over to Yujin, Yujin counts it before looking up at the man.

"You'll leave me alone now right? I've paid for it."

"Well yea you did, but you also don't have the right amount, missing a couple dollars here."

"I swear I just need a little more time, I'll get it back to you!"

"If I remember correctly, you were supposed to pay in full today, right?"

"Well yes, but I don't have the money right now, just give me one more week!"

"I can't do that, if I do that for you, I'll have to do that for everyone and that's not how this goes."

"Please I'll pay—" The man gets cut off as the bullet goes through his head, his limp body dropping to the floor, his blood splashing on Yujin's face. She wipes it off, putting the gun back in her pocket, Wonyoung holds back a gasp, completely frozen in place, seeing Yujin do this without a second thought, no hesitation and not a single hint of fear on her face made Wonyoung think. Nobody takes away one's life and then just stare at them like it's nothing, especially not on the first kill, does she kill for a living?

Wonyoung waits until Yujin passes, holding her breath, being as still as humanly possible, praying that Yujin didn't see her. Yujin walks pass, not noticing Wonyoung, Wonyoung looks back to the man laying dead on the floor, feeling a weird turn in her stomach, she holds back puking right there as the strong scent of blood hits her nose.

She walks down the street, back to her house, head facing down thoughts scattered across her mind, thoughts she had no answer to. She wanted answers but she hesitated, this is more than just toying around, someone got shot and killed right infront of her and she could do nothing about it.

She goes up to her house, opening the door and walks upstairs ignoring her parents trying to speak to her. Hopping on her bed staring up at the ceiling, the scene playing over and over again, she grabs the remote to turn on the tv to distract her self. Watching her favorite movie, she can't stop thinking about it.

What does she do? Call the police, call one of her friends, but what if they find out she put out a police report and her friends get her. Wonyoung just decided to not do anything, her body couldn't stop shaking, no matter how much it tried.
Fuck. She just meant to tease her and find little secrets about her, not this?

She opens up her laptop, searching up her name, An Yujin, seeing what pops up. She sighed when nothing shows up, she clicks on the one link that pops up when she scrolls.
She waits for her screen to load just for it to freeze, She spams the reload button but it didn't work as she slammed her laptop shut.

Her eyes start to feel heavy, shutting them closed as she drifts off to sleep. She rolls over as her phone rings, it was winter, she picks it up.

"Hello?"

"Hey, are you coming to class today?"

"No,why?"

"I was wondering because you never skip, like ever."

"I'm really just not feeling it, I'm exhausted."

"Do you want to talk about it?"
Wonyoung hesitates, should I tell her what happened? No that would just put unnecessary pressure on her, I'll just keep it to myself.

"No it's fine, It's nothing serious just a small issue."

"Alright, well I was wondering if you could go to a party this weekend then?

"A party?"
"Yea, it's at that club we went to a few years ago, remember?"

"Oh yeah, well I'll see if I'm feeling up to it."

"Alright, talk to you later." Winter hangs up.
