Amélie was scoping out the perimeter of the busy Main Street, watching from the rooftop of a tall building.
The city has been threatened by Null Sector numerous times, but recently, the harmful activity has exploded.
Earlier in the day, Akande, Marzia, and Gabriel took down a flock of Null Sector Subjugators that had attacked the citizens downtown. The people here were simply just going about their day, minding their own business when they were all targeted.
Fortunately, only four people suffered from minor injuries. Moira took care of them and sent them on their way.
So, now during sunset, Amélie and Olivia were doing one last watch before other Overwatch agents could take over in the morning.
“Captain LaCroix. Status.” Akande’s tinny voice crackled in her earpiece.
“All is well so far. I have not seen any possible threats.”
“Understood. We will see you and Agent Colomar in the morning. Safe travels back to Gibraltar.”
“Bonne nuit.”
Olivia appeared at her shoulder, “Hey. Couldn't find anything. Everything's settled down now that it's been a few hours. There's not a single Omnic in sight.”
The taller brunette lowered her weapon, the scope folding down into its compartment. “Salut, ma chérie. I hope that we drove them out,” she stepped closer and gave her a peck. “even if it is for a while.”
Olivia hummed contently and returned the affection, deepening the kiss before pulling away after a moment. “I would hope so. With all this activity going on, we deserve a moment of peace for once.”
Amélie looked back out at the dimming sky, taking in the beautiful scenery and the nice, gentle breeze. She could see why tourists really enjoyed visiting Havana.
The world was so beautiful.
Overwatch is really trying their best to keep the whole world safe. They want to make a positive impact on the world during a time of war and violence.
They want to encourage everyone all around the world to stand for peace and harmony, despite any differences they have with each other.
That's what Ramattra wanted.
Peace.
But not everyone thinks the same way, and that is what's destroying Amélie.
