Work Text:

The Roger pirates were doing what any good pirate does after stealing a booty, going to the closest tavern to celebrate. Rayleigh knew how to appreciate a good drink as well as the pretty girl looking at him from the other side of the tavern.

He could feel her interest in her eyes, so, as the gentleman he is, he offered her a drink. It was the perfect excuse to start a conversation. She accepted it, of course she did, he was handsome as fuck. It wasn’t long before his hands were on her hips and her eyes were on his lips. He was just about to ask her to find a room when something caught his attention.

Roger and Gaban were shamelessly flirting with some guys that weren’t even that cute. An annoying feeling was taking over him, but he couldn’t really tell why. He just knew his mood was ruined, and it was their fault. He growled a little while looking at them, but a hand on his chin made him look back at the girl, “eyes on me,” she said.

He tried to do as she told, but his eyes kept coming back to the rascals that were supposed to be his friends. Their fucking eyes were shining as if they were looking at a chest full of gold. He ended up excusing himself with the girl and leaving the bar, there was no way he would look at them any longer.

Roger and Gaban thought that he had left with the girl, just to notice her still sitting at the table with a confused expression. That was odd, Rayleigh never left a pretty girl like her alone.

When they went back to the ship, Rayleigh was nowhere to be found, which was as unexpected as him leaving a girl in a bar. They asked the crew about him, but no one saw him arrive. He has been avoiding them since then. He’s somehow managed to be busy every time they’ve tried talking to him, he’s even started helping in the kitchen just so he has an excuse not to speak to them. They had agreed about approaching him at dinner, but not only wasn’t he scolding them for their manners as usual, he wasn’t even there.

After a whole week of this, Gaban and Roger talked in an attempt to figure out what the hell was going on. They surely must have done something wrong for Rayleigh to act like this. If only they knew what, they could do something to fix it. But there’s the problem, they had no idea how they fucked up this time.

So in the next few days they apologized for everything they could think of. Like telling Taro and Spencer to clean the deck after the last fight even though Rayleigh had told them to do it themselves, and putting some of their paperwork on Rayleigh’s own pile, and hide wounds they got doing some stupid shit just so he wouldn't scold them, and cheating while playing cards so Roger could have more food in the end. But he didn't even seem to know about all those things, so apologizing for them just added more fuel to his anger. And since they couldn’t figure the problem by themselves, the only possible answer was asking Rayleigh directly, but they had to get creative to do that, he really didn’t want anything to do with them now that they had admitted to all those things.

Rayleigh had just finished showering and was about to go to his room, but when he opened the bathroom’s door he bumped into the last two people he wanted to see. “We gotta talk,” Roger said with a frown. Rayleigh just ignored them and passed through them. He didn’t expect the two of them following him into his room. “What do you two think you’re doing here?” Rayleigh asked, exasperated. “We gotta talk,” Roger repeated “We’re not leaving until you tell us why you keep avoiding us.”

Rayleigh turned his back on them, and simply started drying himself with the towel he had around his waist. They couldn’t help their eyes, but they still needed to talk. “We know we fucked up, but we really don’t know how. We already apologized for everything we could think about,” Gaban said with half a mind, a bit too distracted with the way Rayleigh was moving.

This fuckers seriously don’t realized their mistake. Rayleigh didn’t have an option but to show them what the problem was, did he? He turned around with the towel on his neck to meet their hungry stares. He smirked, got closer to them and ran his hands over their chests. They gulped at the action. “How come your hearts are beating this fast for me and you still dared flirt with other guys?”

“B-but you always flirt with girls,” Roger protested. Gaban finally understood, so he wasn’t impressed when Rayleigh asked “When have I ever complained about you flirting with girls?” Roger couldn't look more confused, he still didn’t get what the problem was. Rayleigh chuckled “Girls are enticing, I wouldn’t expect anyone to resist them, especially not you when I myself can’t help it,” after a moment of silence, Rayleigh’s smirk turned into a stern expression “but it all changes when it comes to guys. Especially those bastards you were flirting with last week. I mean, I am hotter than them. How dare you flirt with them instead of with me?”

Roger was too stunned to speak and Gaban wasn’t sure if he wanted to dare to speak.

“Well, you’re obviously hotter than them, we’ve gotta be blind to think otherwise. But there’s no way you’d like us. We aren’t half as cute as the girls you like,” Gaban finally got the courage to talk.

“That’s obvious, dumbass. You’re not cute, you’re handsome,” Rayleigh said half mad, they really were idiots. And he just realized he liked those idiots, enough to get mad at them for flirting with some ugly bastards.

“Wait!” Roger suddenly squealed. “Does this mean you like us?” Rayleigh was taken aback “Well, yeah…” Roger’s face lit up “Perfect!” He said, getting closer and kissing him. “I’ve wanted to do that for so long.” It took Rayleigh a few seconds to process what just happened, but his body did react instantly, going red and maybe a bit hard. A sound made him turn to look at Gaban, who was taking his clothes off. “Wait a sec, aren’t you two going a bit too fast?”

Roger looked confused. “What do you mean? We like you and you like us, so let’s fuck.” It was always simple in Roger’s mind. “You know you want it too,” Gaban teased, and he wasn’t wrong. “Alright.” Rayleigh gave in.
