Work Text:
Since Giyuu has moved in, things have gone smoothly.
Genya had adapted well to the change, and not just in his little headspace. Genya trusted Giyuu and it showed.
Sanemi also liked having an extra hand around the apartment. Giyuu helped in all aspects of life there. He helped cook and clean, sometimes he even helped Genya with homework.
It was nice.
Especially on days like today. Sanemi was still stuck with grading exams, an absolutely draining process. Even more so when he had to grade the exams of the worst of his students.
At some point in the day Genya ended up regressed and little. Sanemi was able to play with him for a bit, but eventually he had to get back to the exams.
“Can you keep an eye on Genya?” Sanem turned to Giyuu. “I have to get back to grading exams.”
Giyuu nodded, putting his phone aside.
“Thanks. If anything happens come and get me,” Sanemi told Giyuu before heading to his room, making sure to leave the door open just a crack.
Giyuu had grown used to taking care of Genya. He had gained a lot of skills as a caregiver since he first learned about Genya’s age regression. He was still far from being as good of a caregiver as Sanemi, but he did his best and it seemed to be enough for Genya.
Even more so, today was a good day for Genya. The little wasn’t upset and seemed content with coloring. He hardly even acknowledged Sanemi leaving the room.
Giyuu was sure it was just going to be like this until it was time to make dinner.
But eventually it seemed Genya got bored of coloring as he put his crayons down then turned to look at Giyuu.
“Everything okay?” Giyuu asked Genya.
Genya nodded then climbed onto the couch.
“Done coloring?”
“Yeah,” Genya replied.
“Something else you want to do?”
Genya shrugged, “dunno.”
If there was one thing Giyuu struggled with in regards to caregiving, it was finding ways to entertain a little. He wasn’t the best at playing games, and he wasn’t the most entertaining person either. The only thing he could think to do was turn the TV on, but Giyuu also knew that Sanemi wanted his brother to spend less time watching TV.
So in the end, Giyuu wasn’t sure what to do. He thought about asking Sanemi for a suggestion but this really wasn’t worth bothering his boyfriend over.
Genya then inched a bit closer to Giyuu.
Giyuu was a bit surprised by the sudden closeness of the little, but he knew Genya could be a bit more clingy when he was like this.
Genya got a bit closer until he was practically sitting on Giyuu’s lap.
Giyuu fought back the urge to lean away from Genya, knowing if he did so he would likely upset the little.
“Giyuu,” Genya began his voice, quiet and hesitant, “can I play with your hair?”
Giyuu was taken aback by the request but he nodded, “sure.”
Genya made one of his small happy sounds then began lightly tugging at Giyuu’s hair.
“You have lots of hair,” Genya commented, combing his finger through Giyuu’s ponytail.
“Yeah, I guess I do.”
“Can I braid it?”
“Sure,” Giyuu said again, before he reached over and undid his ponytail, his long hair falling free.
“Wow,” Genya breathed and Giyuu couldn’t help but smile.
Genya was careful as he went back to combing his brother through Giyuu’s hair. He was just as careful as he parted Giyuu’s hair and began to weave it together.
Giyuu sat quietly while Genya worked.
“Done!” Genya said proudly after a few minutes.
“Thanks Genya,” Giyuu told him, before Genya grabbed his arm and pulled him.
“You have to see it in the mirror.”
“Okay,” Giyuu smiled softly and let Genya lead him to the bathroom.
Once in the bathroom, Genya pushed Giyuu in front of the mirror.
“You look very pretty,” Genya told him.
Giyuu smiled again, “thank you Genya.”
“We should show Nemi!”
“Maybe later Sanemi is working right now.”
Genya frowned.
“He’ll be able to see it at dinner,” Giyuu explained.
This seemed to cheer Genya right back up again.
“Speaking of dinner, do you want to help me get it started?” Giyuu asked Genya.
Genya nodded enthusiastically.
Giyuu held Genya’s hand as he led him to the kitchen. Sadly one thing Giyuu wasn’t as good at was carrying Genya around, that was something it seemed only Sanemi could do.
Genya didn’t seem to mind most of the time, right now especially because he wasn’t all that little.
“Want to wash the rice?” Giyuu asked.
Genya nodded and reached out for the small bowl that sat in the rice cooker. Giyuu filled the bowl with rice then handed it to Genya.
Giyuu watched as Genya carefully washed the rice, eventually he turned away and went to the fridge and pulled out some vegetables. He was quiet as he cut them.
“Rice is washed,” Genya called to Giyuu from the sink.
“Good job, Genya,” Giyuu praised. “Can you put the bowl in the rice cooker?”
“I can,” Genya replied. Giyuy then heard the bowl being put into the rice cooker, once he was done with the vegetables he would put the water in the rice and start the rice cooker.
Genya then came up beside Giyuu and washed as he finished cutting the vegetable.
“What else can I help with?” Genya asked.
“You can get the fish out of the fridge,” Giyuu told him, as he went to grab a pot to cook the vegetables in.
Genya nodded then rushed over to the fridge pulling it open, he grabbed the fish then brought it to the counter.
Giyuu filled the pot for the vegetables with water then put it on the stove, after that he added water to the rice then started the rice cooker.
“Is there anything else I can do?” Genya asked again.
“Do you think you can set the table?”
Genya nodded.
“Okay, do that but be careful."
Genya again nodded and went to the cupboards where the plates were kept. As Genya was setting the table Giyuu got the fish ready to be cooked.
Soon the table was set and dinner was ready.
“Want to tell your brother dinner is done?” Giyuu said to Genya.
Genya nodded, then went down the hall towards Sanemi’s room. He pushed his brother’s door open. Sanemi was hunched over his desk and muttering under his breath.
“Nemi!” Genya called getting his brother's attention.
“What’s up, Gen?” Sanemi turned to face his brother.
“It’s dinner time. I helped Giyuu make it.”
Sanemi smiled as he stood up from his desk, “you did?”
“Yeah, and I set the table!”
“By yourself?”
Genya nodded.
“Good job bud,” Sanemi ruffled his brother's hair. “Let's go eat.”
Sanemi led Genya back to the kitchen where Giyuu was already sitting; the three plates had already been dished up.
Sanemi took his usual seat with Genya sitting beside him.
“Genya told me he helped,” Sanemi said to Giyuu.
“He did,” Giyuu nodded.
“And I set the table,” Genya reminded them both.
Sanem chuckled, “you can’t forget he set the table, Giyuu.”
“Of course, sorry I forgot to mention that Genya.”
“It’s ‘kay,” Genya replied.
“Also Giyuu, I like the new hair style,” Sanemi commented finally noting his boyfriends hair wasn’t in its usual ponytail.
“I did his hair!” Genya chimed in, “it’s pretty isn’t it Nemi.”
“It’s very pretty,” Sanemi chuckled.
Light conversation took over dinner, lots of it was Sanemi and Giyuu discussion work, Genya seemed to pay no mind as he ate his dinner. Sanemi praised his brother for eating without being asked.
Soon dinner was finished, Sanemi put Bluey on TV for Genya so he and Giyuu could wash dishes.
“Thanks for keeping an eye on Genya,” Sanemi said as Giyuu handed him a recently washed plate.
“You don’t need to thank me,” Giyuu replied as he began washing the next plate.
“I still will. Plus you let him fuck around with you’re hair.”
Giyuu handed Sanemi the plate he had just finished washing, “He didn’t mess around with it too much.”
“I guess not,” Sanemi took the plate and began to dry it off. “You’re becoming a good care giver.”
“Thanks.”
Once the dishes had been washed and put away, Sanemi and Giyuu went to the living room, Genya was still sitting on the couch watching Bluey holding Bingo close.
A few hours later it was time for Genya to go to bed. Sanemi grabbed the remote and paused the TV show, “bed time, Gen.”
“Can Giyuu put me to bed?” Genya asked.
“Uh, Sure,” Sanemi replied rather surprised.
Giyuu, who was equally surprised, stood up from the couch and took Genya's hand and led him to his bedroom, Sanemi following behind them.
Giyuu helped Genya into bed, and made sure he had Bingo snuggled up close. Giyuu then tucked Genya in. He softly brushed Genya bangs aside and smiled.
“You want the nightlight on?” he asked the little.
Genya nodded.
“Got it. Good night Genya.”
“G’night,” Genya mumbled into Bingo.
Giyuu turned on Genya’s nightlight as he left the room.
“Goodnight Genya, love you,” Sanemi said from the door.
“Love you too Nemi.”
Then the bedroom light was shut off.
“Genya really does trust you,” Sanemi told Giyuu softly as they went back to the living room.
“Yeah, guess he does.”
