Chapter Text
Kalim crept up silently towards the taller kid carrying a plate. He placed his hand on his shoulder yanking it down so he could place his chin on top. The short white-haired boy hummed a gleeful giggle as the other struggled to balance the tea on the plate.
Jamil looked back with a quizzical jerk of an eyebrow before letting out a sigh seeing who it was. Kalim only smiled brighter as he tiptoed to reach the other's ear. He sucked a breath, covered using his hand, and spoke in a whisper.
Jamil tried to listen he really did but the tickling sensation made it hard. Feeling several shivers run down his spine and warmth spreading to his face.
The black-haired boy pursed his lips as he concentrated on the information that was being passed on. And once it was received he gave a single nod and continued to his destination. As the other boy ran in the opposite direction.
Hours later, Jamil sat in the home’s treasure vault (behind a large pile of gold), with various map sheets and paper before him.
Minutes later a soft sound of the vault door opening alerted the young kid. He remained absolutely silent, both ears listening intently, and with papers already hidden away. However, the tension quickly vanished as the young heir turned the corner.
“Let’s go over it again Kalim” said Jamil with a sigh. He pulled the maps and planners from behind as Kalim took a spot beside him. Jamil revised the plans in a murmur as Kalim listened intently, letting his shoulder rest upon Jamil causing the boy to tilt due to the added weight.
Once finished Jamil scooped everything up and held it close as one would a secret. One could say Kalim did the same as he stood. Surreptitiously hiding his anxious feelings from the other boy. Because if he did speak on them the plan they’ve poured time and effort into would be as good as dead.
“It will work out” commented Jamil aiming to reassure Kalim and himself. The short white-haired boy's eyes grew as he stared at the one across him. He put on a smile one that was meant to bring ease even if a little as he patted the other’s shoulder.
