Chapter Text
He could feel himself being pulled into the air, but the chains that bound him to this prison had stopped him from being able to go even further.
Someone had built his shrine to summon him.
And something is trying to get him out of this void he calls a prison.
He could feel it. The energy of this… thing.
This.. force that is pulling him in the air is eager to get him out. He could even feel some of his chains are on the edge of breaking. Especially the one that traps his neck and his two wrists.
But this prison is also eager to keep him down.
More and more chains materialized out of this void to grab him, at some point cocooning him inside the many rows of chains as they pulled.
Each pull made the metal cocoon even tighter, hurting him in the process, but he didn't scream.
His mind is occupied by the lights above his head, seemingly to be calling him to go upwards.
Before he knew it, the chains snapped. One after another, letting him go to ascend upwards. The impact of the snapped chains had slashed his skin in the process, leaving his gilded blood(?) oozing out from his raw ‘flesh’.
The ones that held him on the neck and his wrists snapped the hardest, for they had left injury so deep that he was sure that it had almost beheaded him and left him handless.
This thing is pulling him into the surface, the Overworld. He just knew it.
However he can't help but remain helpless as this force keeps pulling and pulling as he slowly loses his consciousness, his weakened state slowly drifting him into a slumber state.
Herobrine joined the game
The sunlight of the Overworld hit his face, the soft atmosphere of the morning would be peaceful if his head wasn't hurting like hell.
The entity groaned as he sluggishly tried to sit up, feeling every muscle in his body screamed until he successfully did it.
Looking around, he could see that he's inside a birch forest, one that is filled with cows too, he might add.
He stood up, gently and slowly since the headache is still an issue as he tried to teleport out of this place.
Which is a terrible thing to do.
Instead of landing at least at the outskirts of the forest, a sudden shock of raw power surged through his spine, immobilizing him as he fell back to the ground.
He gasped, his body burning in a short pain before it eventually went numb. He hadn't expected that to happen… though perhaps he should've.
Looking at his wrists, he could see a scar of a wound circling at where the chains had held him before. While this doesn't really tell how long he had been knocked out—since he healed faster than average—it managed to confirm that what happened before is a reality. It managed to help him remember a bit of what had happened.
Looks like he was right about this thing trying to drag him into the Overworld.
He sighed heavily as he stood up again, as careful and slow as earlier, but this time he moved to walk in a random direction, hoping to find the way out as fast as he could teleport.
Turns out he doesn't have to walk far to finally reach the outskirts of the birch forest. And on top of that, there's also a large stream of river just ahead of him.
He walked towards the stream—a bit sluggishly, but he won't admit it yet—to freshen up. Perhaps a cold water could clear the throbbing pain in his head.
He took time to get to the river to just enjoy the soft sound of the running stream. But apparently he wasn't alone, the sound of a villager mob gasping helps him to confirm that thought exactly.
Looking at the other side of the river, he saw a wandering trader and his illamas, both staring at him with jaws open. They look rather speechless looking at him—he is curious as to why.
He got the answer for that question rather quickly, for he only had to have a little peek at the running water to see his reflection. Instead of a friendly looking purple iris—ones that he remembered looking from his ‘reflection’—he saw a pair of glowing white eyes, lacking any pupils staring back at him.
..Right.
He is Him. The one they call Herobrine.
And he has forgotten about that just a second ago.. that is concerning, Herobrine hopes that he hasn't forgotten anything else that is as important as that.
He lifted his head to look back at the trader, originally wanting to give him an assurance that he meant no harm—only to find that he was gone.
Looking a bit to the left, he could see the said trader, riding on one of his illamas as he screamed with terror, getting away as fast as he could from the entity.
That is… understandable, to say the least.
Herobrine sigh, he did as he slowly descended deep into the river, submerging himself completely underneath the cold water with hope that it would at least numb the headache.
The coolness seemed to already be effective, considering that he immediately felt a sense of calm as soon as he reached the riverbed. Perhaps he could meditate for a while to regain a little of his energy.
Crossing his legs, Herobrine took a deep breath before exhaling, feeling the cold water slowly getting into his ‘lungs’ as he then repeated the actions multiple times until he reached the flow of inner peace as he slowly closed his eyes.
Now, how long has exactly passed by?
Because Herobrine is more than sure that bees weren't around in this world before—he had seen a beehive on the way here—and now that he thinks about it, villagers aren't supposed to be a thing as well back when he was still around.
He checks his inventory—thankfully, he still has the creative inventory despite him himself being in a survival mode—to see that a lot of items that weren't back in Beta are now here. Well he had always have access to these items but still,
How long has exactly passed by?
By the moment he opened his eyes again, Herobrine found that it's already nighttime. Funny how time flies quickly for him.
He decided to resurface back. Can't really stay in the river for too long, the Drowned—huh, they're here as well—seems to be as uncomfortable with his presence as the wandering trader from earlier.
So he swims back up, feeling the cold air of the night as he moves to the edge of the river and climbs up. Sitting on a rock beside the river, Herobrine realized that perhaps he should have taken off his clothes before jumping into the river. He couldn't exactly summon a new one for the time being.
He had been imprisoned in that void for so long that his power had simply stop working. At least, that's what he thought—he couldn't believe that he had also forgotten about that. He hopes that it wouldn't take too long for his energy to recover, walking is fine but he prefers just teleporting to get somewhere faster.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH—”
A scream echoes through the land, taking every mob and even Herobrine by surprise. From where the entity is sitting, he could see a player—Huh, looks like enchanted diamond armor is also a thing now—sprinting while screaming on top of his lung, fleeing away from something.
Herobrine doesn't even have to wonder for too long as to what had frightened this player so much that he's running instead of fighting when he sees a tall, black figure with white glowing eyes—just like his but not quite—and a horrifying set of teeth, chasing after the player while a terrifying—though annoying, for Herobrine—sound emits from the monster.
That… is not a mob Herobrine recognizes.
Is it a new one? He doesn't remember seeing this model of mob—it looks.. horrifying, yes, but he should know if it's supposed to be a part of Minecraft.
… But, he could have missed something. He had forgotten his name temporarily and the limitations the void had put on him, he could have missed the some of the new updates this world has. It seems logical enough.
“How fascinating.” He muttered to himself as he stood up straight. The wet clothes be damned, Herobrine decides that he will follow this player now to see what else is new to this world.
Besides, he doesn't really have anything else to do.
The ancient entity wasted no time as he began to walk to where the player had run to, slow and steady since he's confident that he would at least find the player’s base sooner or later.
Behind the woods, a skeleton is watching his moves. Its hollow eyes are filled with excitement to see the legend himself is back.
