"Great, great," Floyd said as he pulled back the seat for him.
Riddle settled in with barely contained nervousness, glancing around the Lounge. A glass partition kept him separated from the flow of students and staff, even muffling the hubbub of teenage boys. Before he could work up a temper about the rowdiness, Floyd stepped in with a plate.
"Here you go," he said with his usual languid tone.
"This is it? …A strawberry cake? It looks nothing like Trey's."
"Don't knock it til you try it." Floyd sat down.
"You're staying?"
"Gotta hear the compliments firsthand."
Riddle huffed and picked up the cake fork. "Don't assume it'll be compliments. Why would you ask me for taste testing anyway? It's not like I have any expertise in cakes."
"Yeah, yeah."
Riddle's temple pulsed at the dismissal, but he grit his teeth and forked a piece of cake. He hadn't even agreed to come here—Floyd had dragged him in, with his usual carefree attitude—and Riddle only capitulated in the hope that it would get him out of there sooner. Why did Azul send Floyd to get him? He could have just asked him in person!
All these thoughts flew away on the first bite.
"…It's good."
"Yeah?"
"Mh." Riddle politely stopped talking and forked another bite. He barely needed to chew, that was how tender the cake was. The sweetness was not too much, giving a more milky and airy taste, and the bits of strawberry cut through the softness with a subtle bite and freshness. The only thing that would make this better would be…
Floyd poured him a cup of tea.
"…Thank you," Riddle said in amazement.
Floyd laughed. "Read your mind, goldfishie?"
"Hmph."
Riddle politely wiped his mouth. "Well, you can give my compliments to Azul. I'm sure it'll be a popular addition to your menu."
Floyd snickered. "I dunno about that."
"Why not? It's really good."
Floyd's terrible grin grew. "Yeah? Got any more to say?"
Riddle sensed danger and shut his mouth.
Floyd pouted and leaned back into his seat, stretching out his arms. "We're not adding it to the menu. C'mon, look around, do you think a strawberry cake fits our vibe? You're gonna get a cocktail with that?"
Glancing at the dark and eerie lounge, Riddle couldn't deny that. "But then, why—"
"'Cause I wanted you to eat my cooking."
"…What?"
Floyd smiled silently. He looked terribly pleased with himself, even flushed a little, eyes glittering like a child.
"Why would you— you lied to me!" Riddle exclaimed, flustered.
Floyd shrugged. "If I tell you I made it for you, you won't eat it."
"For good reason!"
"What reason?"
"You!" Riddle shot to his feet, his face rapidly going red. "You're making fun of me!"
"I'm making fun of you by studying your tastes and creating a strawberry cake recipe just for you?"
Floyd's words cut him off and made all the air leave his lungs. Suddenly, Riddle became aware of the situation: not just that Floyd had tricked him, but that he'd tricked him into eating a cake he'd made himself. Why? Indeed, why would Floyd, who got bored of everything, waste his time doing this for him? Riddle had no answer and sat back down with a face, red for an entirely new reason.
Floyd leaned on the table and grinned. "Well, goldfishie? Do you like it?"
"…Shut up."
He picked up the fork.

The earliest work is from 3 years ago, so I'm guessing the author is in their third year. Either that or it's a professor or staff… Or they're just redoing their years, IDK.
