Chapter Text
After Jax had gotten better, the six circus members walked to Caine's office to check on him. An explosion could be heard from the kitchen along with Caine screaming, "I'M MAKING FUCKING MAC & CHEESE AND NOBODY CAN STOP ME!" Crusty pots and pans were everywhere, along with flour all over the walls and celing. Bubble blankly stared into the distance with his usual sadistic smile. Ragatha slowly backed off as Caine presented his creation to the cast. Somebody had to eat it.
Pomni said, "Uhm, I'll have a bite."
Caine's eyes lit up as he said, "OF COUSE, MY DARLING! TRY SOME FOR YOURSELF!"
Pomni picked up the fork and took a bite. Caine had used way too much flour for the cheese sauce, causing her to gag and choke on it. For some reason, she didn't vomit despite wanting to so badly. Pomni swallowed it and ate the rest. Caine had a saddened expression on his face. He asked Pomni, "YOU... DIDN'T LIKE IT...?"
Pomni said, "It's... okay..." in an attempt to hide her disgust and dissapointment from Caine. He didn't get offended and made an assumtion.
Caine asked, "OH WHY POMNI, WOULD YOU LIKE ANOTHER SERVING?"
Pomni replied, "Thanks, but I'm good."
In spite of eating raw flour, Pomni didn't feel any sick afterwards. A few hours later, nothing was wrong with her. The next day, Caine tried cooking again in the kitchen next to his office, this time tossing watermelon and cantaloupe into an omlette. When Zooble limped over to Caine's office to ask for earbuds, they heard the commotion in the kitchen. Zooble walked into the kitchen and saw watermelon and cantaloupe rinds filling the garbage can. Once Caine was finished with his concotion, he added a huge amount of salt to the omlettes. He showed Zooble his "masterpiece" and asked, "WOULD YOU LIKE A TASTE?"
Zooble said, "Not really, but I guess I'll try it."
They took the fork and knife from the plate, cutting a piece of the omlette with the least amount of salt and fruit. Zooble ran to the trash can in Caine's office to spit out the disgusting food. Caine didn't bother to ask Zooble if they liked it. He just looked at Zooble solenmly as they took a glance at Caine. Caine lit up and offered another piece. Zooble tried another piece of the omlette and actually swallowed it. Zooble swore they were going to puke, but somehow didn't. When he asked, "HOW WAS IT, MY FRIEND?"
Zooble replied, "It's disgusting! Not as bad as some of the other stuff you've made."
An embarrased and confused Caine said, "WHAT DO ALL OF YOU LIKE? I THOUGHT YOU ALL LIKED FRUIT, EGGS AND SALT!"
Zooble said, "We like that stuff, but not mixed together like that!"
From that day forward, Bubble did all of the cooking and Caine didn't continue with most of his crazy kitchen experiments. It was breakfast and Ragatha along with the others came to the breakfast table to get something to eat. Everyone skipped dinner the previous night, so they all figured they had room for an extra large portion. That morning was restraunt style, so each circus member could order any breakfast item on a large menu Caine handed them all. Ragatha ordered an omlette with cheese and ham along with french toast and bacon. Jax asked for his order along with the others. The circus members chatted at the table and an hour later, all of their food was ready. The portion sizes for each of their meals was enough to feed two people. Jax looked excited to down his giant plate of spaghetti as Zooble ate one of their two breakfast burritos.
Ragatha thought the portion sizes would be smaller, but when it arrived, the portions were huge. Her meal was enough to feed three people. She looked shocked, which confused Caine. He floated to her seat at the table and asked, "IS EVERYTHING OKAY MY DEAR?"
Ragatha said, "No- Everything is alright! Don't worry about me!"
Caine looked skeptical but believed what Ragatha said. She wasn't sure if she could finish everything, but ate anyways. Thirty minutes later, she was done with three-fourths of her plate when everybody else was finished eating. Ragatha finished the rest of her food and felt absolutely stuffed. All of the others left as Caine noticed that all of the circus members had licked their plates clean. The six decided to sit on the couch in the main circus area, feeling happy and well-fed. The task for the day was going through the clothes the circus members had and throwing out that were damaged or worn out. Pomni dug through her dresser and threw out some stained clothing from adventures and accidents.
Ragatha had the most worn out clothing. She threw out a third of her wardrobe and sighed. It was almost time to go on an "adventure in shopping" for her to buy more clothes with a budget provided by Caine. Thankfully, her favourite hummingbird dress wasn't stained or damaged. She decided to wear that for the rest of the day as Jax looked through his many tuxedos for any damaged or stained ones. He found a pair of glitter tuxedos and pants that Bubble had spilled bacon grease on. He sighed and threw it in the pile of clothes to get rid of. Once everybody was done, Zooble called out, "Caine! We're done!"
Caine popped into their room and got rid of the pile of clothes with the snap of a finger. He said, "ALRIGHT EVERYBODY, YOUR NEXT ADVENTURE IN SHOPPING WILL BE TOMORROW! YOU WILL BE GOING TO THE THRIFT STORE TO FIND SOMETHING NEW FOR YOURSELVES TO WEAR!"
Everybody looked excited to shop for something new. Zooble liked shopping for new parts instead of digging for them in a box. Jax was especially looking forward to getting a new suit or tuxedo. Caine also announced, "ALSO, TODAY IS YOUR DAY OFF! RELAX AND HAVE FUN MY DEAR FRIENDS!" and poofed out of existance.
