Chapter Text
D3rlord had never been a man of luck, this entire thing had just been another thing to support that. Those damn doors. "The King in Yellow," as he was called, he caused this. Why did his curiosity always get the best of him? And now here he was, ready to die. As long as Avery was okay. He’d rest easy then.
D3rlord had passed out just moments after his and The King in Yellow's consciousnesses had fused. His body had fallen limp on the platform and his breathing began to slow. About an hour had passed before Avery had found him once more, passed out and completely unresponsive but alive.
Hours later D3rlord awoke, finding himself staring up at some ceiling. He raise a hand in front of his face, trying to see if this was all just a dream. He tried making sense of what he remembered. Those large yellow doors. What were behind them? What had happened? Why did he past out? And most importantly, where was he? God... where was he? D3rlord sat up, now realizing he had no idea where he was. He froze as he looked around at his surroundings. It was just a normal base. The oak wook and glass windows, a crafting table, a furnace, and a few chests lined up in one of the corners. It was truly nothing out of the ordinary for a simple starter base.
D3rlord sighed, could it have been that it was all just some vivid dream? God he hoped so. And yet, all that terror he felt had felt so real. D3rlord put a hand to his chest, making an attempt to try and calm himself down only to find that he didn't have his armor on. He immediately freaked out, he always had his armor on. Where was it? How did it even come off? Who had taken it off him? He had to leave, he had to get out of here before whoever it was that took his armor came back. D3rlord stood, only to be hit with a nauseating headache. He sat back down on the bed with a groan.
"Oh by the gods above..." D3rlord muttered as he put his head in his hands. He sat like that for a few long minutes before lifting his head back up and looking at his surroundings once more. Yup, still the same. D3rlord sighed once again, he glanced down at the pillow. It was all a dream. It had to have been. There was no way that what he had seen, that what he had gone through, had been real. He refused to believe it.
D3rlord stared at the pillow before laying back down, it was a dream, this was all just one big dream. He laid there, hoping sleep would bless him. But then again, D3rlord had never been a man of lucky standing. After a few minutes of tossing and turning, D3rlord finally gave up, sitting up once more.
D3rlord sighed as he sat back up, rubbing his temples. Gods his head hurt. What had happened to him? He racked his brain for answers. D3rlord tried his hardest, to remember, to understand, to-
The door creaked open.
A person unknown to D3rlord entered and shut the door behind themselves, seeming to not have noticed that D3rlord was awake. D3rlord studied the person, whom he saw had the user of "TheMostMayo." Who in their right mind would call themselves that? D3rlord thought to himself. He took a moment to gather himself before he spoke.
"Who the hell are you? Where am I? And where's my armor?" D3rlord practically berated. His tone a mixture of confusion, frustration, and anxiety.
The person stood frozen at the door, clearly not having expected D3rlord to be up yet. "D3rlord.. you're up." The person spoke as they turned to face D3rlord, their expression and tone was just pure shock.
"Yeah, I'm up. Now answer my questions!" D3rlord spoke angrily, reaching for his sword before realizing it wasn't there. Fuck... What was he meant to do if this person decided to attack? Gods he was screwed.
"D3rlord, what are talking about? It's me, Avery." The person, Avery, spoke. "How do you not-" Avery stopped, almost as he realized something.
"Well, "Avery," you still haven't answered my other questions so speak." D3rlord barked out.
Avery didn’t speak, how could he? Had D3rlord’s memories somehow been wiped? No, there was no way, no way at all. He pushed the thought away, taking a moment to collect himself before finally speaking. “D3rlord, what do you remember?”
D3rlord scoffed, why should he tell this person that he didn’t even know what he last remembered? Gods, this was all far too confusing for his mind to handle. Despite his better judgment, he spoke. After all, what if Avery knew something he didn’t? “There were these yellow doors, quite large if I recall correctly. That’s the last thing I remember before blacking out completely and waking up here. So, if you’d be so kind as to answer my questions, that’d be great.” D3rlord spoke through gritted teeth.
“I’m sorry, what were your questions again..?” Avery asked, D3rlord’s questions had slipped his mind. He just stood there, unmoving. After all, the last time he saw D3rlord awake and moving was when he had knocked him off the platform.
“First off, where am I? And second, where the hell is my armor?” D3rlord repeated for the third time. “Also how are you even here? I created this as a single player world!”
Avery sighed, he could already tell D3rlord was not going to be happy about what had happened to his armor. “So, as for where you are, you are in my base. And uh-“ Avery cleared his throat, looking away from D3rlord. “As for your armor… it was like.. really heavy and you’re kinda bulky to begin with. So I might’ve taken it off of you and left it on the platform..” Avery muttered, his cheeks flushing with slight embarrassment.
D3rlord didn’t speak, he only stood up, even in the amount of pain he was in. He took slow steps towards Avery, stopping mere inches from his face. “You did what with my armor?” D3rlord asked as if he didn’t hear Avery the first time.
Avery merely gulped as D3rlord approached, after all, D3rlord was a good head taller and far stronger than Avery could ever hope to be. “Oh I- um.. you see it’s-..” Avery looked around hoping there was something that could help him, but of course there was nothing. “So you see.. I have something very important to do so.. bye!” Avery said before his avatar disappeared and a message pop up in chat.
“TheMostMayo left the game.”
D3rlord groaned. Great just great. Now he was left alone with a splitting headache and no understanding of who this “Avery” guy was. And even less knowledge about what happened to him. What the hell was Avery on about? “Platform?” What platform? It was all just stone leading up to those dammed doors! D3rlord let out a frustrated yell, which only seemed to add to the pain from his headache. This was going to be a long day.
