Chapter Text
The day had been just like any other for the Sage of Truth, moving from one village to another and performing lectures to the cookies who reside there. Explaining the harshest of truths to simplest of facts that he had learn on his travels to anyone who would listen. Not once had he expected to catch sight of an accident hero at his lecture, let alone two!
It had been a simple week, he had been spending some extra time in the villages residing close to the floating Vanilla kingdom. The cookies there seemed intrigued in the truth far more than his usual audiences, a refreshing contrast to work with! Lots of cookies he had dealt with prior seemed to only tolerate his words, often passing by or claiming it was “nonsense”. So it was a breath of fresh air to see their interest in truth. Far too many cookies spent too much time focusing on the more mundane ideals of Crispia. The Sage of Truth as deemed eons ago after his baking stood in the center of this small village his audience of cookies larger than he had expected for the time of day. Preaching his truths and what he gathered over the ages of his existence. The lesson of the day: 'Why some cookies were baked with disabilities and weaknesses'. A truth he found quite interesting! The contents of each cookie could vary from each other from as small as their flavors to their dough’s consistency.
“Alright everyone! Listen up, today’s lecture is on the contents of dough types and the risks that may come with.”
The Sage had called out. His lecture of the evening started with the different textures, from crispy and hard dough, to soft and moist dough types. The Sage of Truth explained how different levels of liquid in their dough could affect such, from too little making a cookie more brittle and rough, and too much making a cookie’s body unstable and more prone to mobility aids. Along with this he could be heard speaking on how their dough hardens with age and time, explaining the natural process of such things in their world. Of course it wasn’t always the happiest truth, but one that still laid as law in their world of sweetness. The Sage would talk about the subject for a few hours, pausing to answer questions and interact with those who gathered around. Using small spells and illusions to help the truth seekers grasp the concepts better. It hadn’t been till after that he had noticed an eye of what he assumed to be a vanilla beholder staff staring at him.
The Sage blinked a few times, questioning if he had truly seen such or if his mind was playing a trick upon him. His internal question being answered once the crowd dispersed and he could see the full outline of the cookie walking around with such an item at their grasp. Pure Vanilla Cookie, the ancient hero, a cookie he had not expected to stop by and observed his lecture. After all, it was no hidden secret that the cookie held the Souljam of Truth. Yet to see him about such a small village was intriguing. Curious on how the revered ancient hero thought of his teaching the Sage of Truth found himself making his way over to the Vanillian cookie.
“Excuse me, Pure Vanilla Cookie is it? What an honor it is to meet the ancient of truth. Please if you have a moment to spare I would love to know what you thought of my lecture?”
