What time was it..?I
Christ. Innes rubbed his eyes, looking around his empty cabin.. Well it wasn't completely empty, Muir was asleep in the bunk above his, but that man slept like a rock, nothing and nobody could wake him up.
Innes groaned as he sat up, his back hurt so much. He blinked and looked at the digital clock on his bedside table.. 8:53?? Fuck. He was supposed to be working right no- wait.. No.. Innes let out a thankful sigh as he laid back down, he had the day off. Thank god.. Innes closed his eyes but before he could drift back into the loving arms of sleep, he felt a sharp, painful kick. Innes groaned and flipped to the side just in time to see Muir jump off his bunk.
Muir stretched his arms and turned around, seeing Innes awake. Muir smiled and crawled into Innes' bed next to him. Muir smiled and looked into Innes' eyes.
'Whit ye' looking at? Ye look daft!'
Innes tried to sound annoyed at Muir, but he couldn't quite manage it.
'Inness.. Cmon.. Let's go! MacNair said he was makin' sumthing good for brekkie and as much as Ah love ye,, Ah ain't missing sumthing guud cause' ye wanna lay in bed all day!'
Innes glared at Muir, watching him stand up and go to the closet. Muir picked some random sweater and a pair of pants.
Innes groaned as he stood up, he rubbed his eyes before going to stand next to Muir, he picked out one of his (used to be) large sweaters, which was almost too tight on him now. Innes looked for some pants too, he took the first pair he saw. He went to the bed to put them on, but as he put them on, he realised, he could only get them up too his lower thigh before they couldn't be pulled up any more.. Was he getting that fat? He knew pregnancy would change his body, heck, he'd seen it with others, but to experience this? Fucking embarassing.
'Oi! Muir! Got we any pants that are bigger than this piece of shite?'
Innes took off his pants and threw them at Muir's head, hitting him square in the face. Innes couldn't help the laugh that escaped his lips as Muir huffed and turned around to look for any pants that would fit Innes. Once Muir actually found a pair, he looked at Innes before tossing the pants to him, which he caught in his hands.
Innes put them on, they were a little tight but nothing he couldn't really handle. Innes stood up and walked past Muir, who was busying doing something that he didn't bother looking at. Innes put on his sandals that were just by the door of their cabin before he walked out. Muir huffed and out on a pair of shoes, he didn't really look at what kind of shoe he put on, didn't care if it was his 'comfortable' pair of shoes or his work boots as he walked out. He saw that Innes was a little bit ahead of him, having already begun walking to the cafeteria. Muir huffed as he ran over to Innes. Grabbing onto his arm before resting his chin on his shoulder. Innes looked over at him, confused for a second before he sighed and continued to walk to the cafeteria.
The cafeteria was basically empty expect for Roy who was behind the counter. He waved at the two as he watched them get a plate of food each.
'How's the ween in there, Innes? Are his kicks powerful? Or hers, ye never know!'
Roy laughed and looked at Innes, who just nodded.
'Yeeh, the bugger's kick is more than Ah'd want but, at least then Ah know their heathly.'
Innes responded before he went to sit down by Muir, who was already seated by a table.
Once Innes sat down, he really looked at the plate, pancakes, some eggs and bacon. Innes didn't say anything as he began to start eating, but as he ate, he watched Muir grab the bacon from his plate and replace them with the eggs from his plate, a little switch.
'Whatche daein', Muir? Tryina give me all ye' eggs??'
Innes raised an eyebrow as Muir shrugged and smirked.
'Maybe..? But ye know ah love bacon,, and ah ain't a big fan of eggs, not as big of a fan like ye! Ye just love eggs, yeh?'
Innes stared at Muir, really just stared before he sighed, accepting this little switch of Muir. Innes nodded as he continued to eat. Innes watched as Muir ate, Muir always ate so dramatically thought Innes. Muir always acted like the food he was eating was the best thing he had ever tasted, it could be burnt or undercooked and Muir would still smack his lips as he ate and lick his lips after each and every bite, as if he was savoring the taste. And today was no different. Muir ate as quickly as a pig, as messily as one too.
'Muir, slow ye arse down! Ye'r eating like a damn pig!'
Muir stopped eating and stared at Innes before gasping loudly and putting a hand over his heart.
'Innes.. How.. How dare ye!.. Ah am.. The FATHER! O' ye'r ween and.. And ye say such.. Such THINGS! To me?? Nae! Ah.. Ah cannae believe it! No.. Nae! This cannae be true!'
Muir half sobbed and looked at Innes, all while some grease was shining on the corner of his mouth, and somehow, he had gotten a tiny bit of bacon stuck in his beard.. Innes wondered how the man did this, bacon didn't even crumble and yet, Muir, the man he had decided to have a child with, the man who was gonna become a father soon enough, had bacon crumbs in his beard.
'Ah cannae take ye' seriously when ye' got Bacon bits in ye'r beard.'
Innes watched as Muir shook his head and wiped his mouth on his sweater sleeve, still not getting all the crumbs from his beard. Innes laughed quietly. He didn't know how they'd do it. I mean, raising a kid? Muir acted like a kid most of the time, how was this man supposed to raise a kid if he acted worse than one??
'I Donno how we'll do it, Muir. Raisin' a kid, christ! I donno if ah even wanna give birth to the bastard anymore!'
Innes complained as he continued to eat, Muir watched him. Muir wasn't listening anymore, just staring. He could stare at Innes all day long, he loved Innes' hair, Innes' eyes, his voice.. Muir loved everything about this man, he knew that.
'Aye?? Muir, are ye' even listenin' to me?? Are ye' tryina become a brick wall??'
Innes was about to say more until he noticed Muir giggle and smile. Muir was just staring at his face. He hadn't been listening, most likely for minutes now, had the man even heard him when he made that comment about the bacon in his beard or did he just wipe his face subconsciously? Innes rolled his eyes and sighed, looking at Muir. Innes leaned against the table before clapping his hands right in Muir's face, causing him to look at Innes with a daft smile.
'Have ye' even been listening tae' me, Muir?? Ye'r seriously daft..'
Innes mumbled as Muir straightened up.
Muir chewed his bacon, making sure to chew it into a thick paste before swallowing, Muir stopped staring at Muir, staying unusually quiet as he ate until he suddenly spoke up.
'What if ah' fed ye' like a baby bird? Is it no' romantic? Ye'd be a cute little bird if ah' dae' admit!'
Muir smiled and leaned close to Innes, who looked disgusted.
'Nae'! Dinnae' even think about it!'
Muir whined and went back to his own plate, playing with his food instead of eating it. Innes sighed and leaned back in his chair. He looked at his food, he had already eaten all of it but he was still hungry. He looked back at Roy in the kitchen, there was still one plate left full of food, he knew Roy was most likely saving it for someone but it wouldn't hurt to ask if he could have it, eh?
Innes stood up and walked over, Roy noticed and walked over, waving to Innes who gave a small wave back.
'So.. MacNair.. Mind if ah take the last plate? Ye know how it is, eh? Pregnant and hungry'
Roy huffed out a laugh before shaking his head.
'Nae'! Take it if ye'r hungry!'
Innes nodded and grabbed the plate before returning to Muir who had finished his plate now.
'Another plate? MacNair let ye' grab it? As kind as he is, he always gets so huffy if we want more than one plate!'
Innes nodded and smiled proudly as he began to eat.
A few minutes later, not a few but whatever, a couple minutes later Innes was finished with his second plate, now he felt full, stuffed even! Innes stood up and patted his belly, Muir stood up as well as Innes began to waddle off. Muir couldn't help the laugh that escaped him, Innes turned around and gave Muir a tired stare before he walked off, Muir quickly followed after.
'So what now?'
'Ah'm goin' to bed, ye' can dae whatever, EXPECT daeing' sumething' dumb, aye?'
Muir nodded and followed after Innes, the two walked to their shared cabin together, Innes stepped inside, the door hadn't been locked before they had left so he could just walk in. Innes slipped off his sandals before going to his bed. He sat down and began to undress, Muir watched from the door, he quickly closed it before locking it. Muir laughed as he watched Innes struggle with his pants, shutting up when Innes gave him a cold glare.
Once Innes was finished undressing, he laid down, now just in his boxers. He let out a sigh from his nose as he turned onto his side. Muir watched this, quickly taking off all his clothes until he was left in just his sweater and boxers. Then Muir moved to lay down behind Innes, Muir buried his head into Innes' neck. Innes' smelt like salt, syrup, and somewhat musky. Muir expected this though, the man hadn't showered in a few days. Muir rested his hands on Innes' large stomach, rubbing it with his hands. Innes relaxed into Muir's grip, leaning back slightly, his hair hit Muir's face, but he didn't care, it felt good being held by Muir, his lover, his one and only, the father of his child, his Muir. Nothing bad could ever happen, nothing. Innes closed his eyes as he began to slowly drift off into a peaceful sleep.
Muir stayed awake though, holding Innes still. Muir listened as Innes' breathing slowly became steady, Muir smiled to himself as his eyelids slowly began to feel heavy, it was still so early into the day but it wouldn't hurt to take a nap beside Innes. Muir held onto Innes' a tiny bit tighter, yawning as he soon enough fell asleep, his grip relaxing as he drifted off into a peaceful slumber behind Innes.
