VOWS OF AN OMEGA LEVEL KING by NessaJayn (C) 2026, 1st APR
It was early in the morning when Becca let out a soft cry, waking up her parents. It was still dark outside without a cloud in the sky and a full moon shining brightly. Remy knew it couldn't be for a late night feed, since Rogue had fed her earlier. Remy woke up first before Rogue at the sound of Becca's cries.
"Non, mon cœur. You stay here and sleep. I'll tend to Becca." Remy said softly with a hand on Rogue's hip as an indication to stay in bed and sleep.
"Okay, sugah." Rogue said softly, unable to hide a yawn as Remy reached down to the floor to grab a pair of sleep pants and put them on.
Grabbing a deck of playing cards from the bedside table, he slid them into his pocket as he walked over to Becca's crib. Remy reached down to place a gentle hand on his daughter's stomach to let her know someone answered her cries.
"What's the matter, my princess." Remy murmured softly to his daughter.
At the sound of her father's voice, Becca's cries immediately stopped. She opened her eyes to glance up at the same unique looking eyes of her father in the bright moonlight shining into the guest bedroom. Remy then reached down to lift his daughter out of the crib and cradled her into his strong embrace. He quickly noted Becca was not in need of another feed or for a diaper change as he held her in his arms and gently rocked her. Remy briefly glanced over to the bed to see Rogue had fallen back asleep after giving her the assurance he would look after Becca. With the night air humid and sticking to his skin, Remy softly walked out of the guest bedroom with Becca in his arms and glancing up at him intently as he then stepped outside to sit down on the couch on the back porch of the guild house. Sitting down, Remy gazed out at the night sky and the stillness of the night. A clear night sky and the full moon shining as brightly as the streetlights illuminating the city streets.
A soft sigh escaped Remy's lips as he soaked up the peaceful sounds of the night as he held Becca in his strong and muscular right arm. He then quickly released the stack of playing cards from his pocket and let it sit of the armrest of the couch as he adjusted his seating position to feel comfortable, then let his left arm drape over the armrest of the couch near the stack of playing cards. The feel of her little arms and legs moving freely, Remy couldn't help but glance down at his beautiful daughter. Given that he forgot to put a shirt on before he left the large bed to attend to Becca's cries, Remy held his breath for a moment thinking Becca was going to confuse him for her mother and attempt to bite his nipple for a feed. But to Remy's surprise, Becca's attention had focused on the scars all over his chest. Her tiny hand flattening over his chest, lightly tapping her palm over his scars as her eyes gazed at them with such curiosity and wonder for a two month old baby.
The scars that tainted his perfect skin and athletic frame, every one of those scars told a story. Some good, some bad, some completely frightening as he watched his daughter's hand touch the scars on his chest that she could reach. Scars he received from his incessant need to survive the dangerous streets as a frightened young boy; to the scars received from guild jobs as Jean-Luc LeBeau's adopted son and climbing the ranks of the guild; to the scars received from fighting by Rogue's side as a formidable member of the X-Men. Before he met Storm and she brought him to the Xavier mansion and introduced him to Rogue, he often lived life that it was 'hard to kill a man with nothing to lose'. But as his eyes glanced down to his wedding band gleaming in the moonlight and his daughter cradled securely in his right arm, he made a silent vow since his wedding that it would be 'harder to kill a man with a family'.
As the guild king and a senior member of the X-Men, he knew he had no shortage of enemies wanting his head on a platter as a trophy. His mothers-in-law at the top of his list of enemies. He'd be a fool to think Destiny would not be aware of Becca's existence and not inform Mystique about it. A major reason that contributed to the idea of the shell bracelet with a hidden tracker inside it when the bracelets were bought in the surf shop while holidaying in Australia. After all of the misery both women had put his and Rogue's life through, he and Rogue would be damned to let either Destiny or Mystique get their scheming hands on their daughter. Rogue especially, after the misery Mystique had put her through. They couldn't bear the thought of Destiny or Mystique seeing their granddaughter as nothing more than another person to train into a weapon for their own selfish agenda. The thought of his daughter being held captive by his mothers-in-law made the hairs on his arms stand on end and sent a shiver of disgust run down his spine as he glanced down at his daughter. His left hand immediately moved to place protectively around Becca as she continued to gaze in wonder at the scars over her father's skin.
Remy's mind then drifted to what Emil had told him and Rogue earlier about the riots blocking the city streets and the more sophisticated weaponry wielded by the Friends of Humanity. The X-Men had encountered the Friends of Humanity and their antics in the past. But after seeing the photos Emil had been able to take discreetly with his phone before driving a different route to the guild house, Remy and Rogue knew these riots were becoming more dangerous. Casualties mounting on both sides of the issue of mutant rights and how the Friends of Humanity wanted to re-establish the Mutant Registration Act. The fight to make Xavier's vision for co-existence between mutants and humans was becoming a tougher battle by the day, but his heart felt relief in the assurance his guild family would stand by his and Rogue's side as allies for them and their mutant teammates back at the Xavier mansion in New York.
Desperately wanting to shift his thoughts to something more positive, his gaze then drifted to the stack of playing cards on the armrest of the couch. His left hand lifted up the card that was sitting on the top of the deck. A smile emerged when he realised the card he was holding.
The ace of hearts card.
The card he featured in the photoshoot with Rogue while she was seven months pregnant. He always regarded the queen of hearts card as Rogue's card even long before they married, and after that day of the photoshoot, he couldn't resist seeing the ace of hearts as Becca's card. Resting the card on his thigh, his gaze drifted back down to watch his daughter let out a yawn from her tiny mouth and then settled herself to fall asleep in her father's protective embrace and the warmth of his body.
It was still dark outside when Rogue began to feel the pull of sleep leave her as she began to stretch her body. Her body felt grateful for the extra time of sleep her husband gave her as her hand slid across the bed, expecting to find her husband sleeping beside her. Her hand came into contact with cold sheets, causing her to snap herself awake and glanced around the guest bedroom.
"Remy?!" Rogue called out softly as she rose from the bed.
Searching the en-suite bathroom to find it empty, along with Becca's crib. Squashing down the initial panic, she remembered Remy had taken care of Becca, so she and Remy must be somewhere else inside the massive guild house.
Without waking up the other family members, Rogue flew from room to room, searching for where her husband and daughter could be in the early hours. After silently inspecting the other empty rooms, she then turned her attention to outside. Planting her bare feet on the floor of the spacious kitchen and dining area of the house, Rogue noticed the sliding back door still open ajar. The breeze felt heavenly on her skin as she cautiously walked over to the sliding door and peeked her head through to scan the back porch outside.
There they were!
The scene before her on the couch made her want to shed tears of joy.
Remy sitting bare chested on the couch with Becca now fast asleep in his protective arms. Gazing down at his sleeping daughter as his left hand cut the stack of playing cards on the armrest of the couch without looking. His gaze alternating from his daughter to the sky above him changing colour to indicate that morning had arrived. The soft breeze caught the scent of Rogue standing in the doorway, and Remy couldn't stop a smile on his face as her natural scent wafted passed his nose.
"Hey, sugah!" Rogue said softly, stepping outside on to the back porch and closed the door behind her with a soft clicking sound.
Remy's eyes then glanced over to the door to find his exquisite wife standing there in her satin nightgown that barely cover her body. His left hand moved on instinct from the deck of cards to comb through his hair in a way that always left her feeling weak in the knees. After undressing her with his eyes as his hand ran through his chestnut hair, he then extended his left arm and held out his hand for her to take.
Completely breathless at the sight of her handsome man cradling their baby daughter fast asleep in his right arm, she floated over to hold his extended hand. She then sat down beside her husband on the couch. Her legs tucked under her so her knees touched the side of his right thigh, without breaking her eye contact with Remy's eyes.
"You been out here the whole time?" Rogue asked softly and gave a soft kiss to Becca's forehead as she slept.
"Yeah, mon cœur. You deserved the extra sleep, so I came out here to keep Becca company." Remy responded softly. "For some reason, Becca took fascination to my scars."
Rogue couldn't stop the look of concern on her face as she glanced down at the scars that still tainted his skin. She knew how much those scars each told a different story, but those scars also shaped Remy into the man she married and would happily die defending till her last breath. She immediately reached out to embrace him, mindful of their daughter sleeping soundly in his embrace.
"Oh, Remy. Are you okay?" Rogue asked with concern. It worried her how much Remy didn't like to be left alone with thoughts of his past, but glancing into his eyes, she noticed something different shining back at her in his gaze. It wasn't a look of self pity, but rather, one of fierce determination. The soft nod of his head eased her fears as she let out a breath of relief and sat back on her knees beside him.
"I have been called many things throughout my life that come from these scars..." Remy said softly, gazing out at the cloudless early morning sky to gather his thoughts. "... le diable blanc; thieving scoundrel; hero - even if I feel I don't believe it."
"Every profanity under the sun by my mama." Rogue giggled softly in interruption, causing Remy to gaze at her in mild irritation.
"Please, chère. I'm trying to be serious here." Remy growled lowly while grinning at her. Rogue's left hand lifted to attempt to control her giggle, then raised her hands in the air in mock surrender to let him continue.
"Like I said, I've been called many things that come from these scars, but there are two titles that mean more to me than being called the 'guild king' or 'X-Man'." Remy said softly, briefly glancing down to see his daughter still peacefully asleep.
"And what's that, sugah?" Rogue asked softly.
Without a word, Remy simply lifted his left hand to cup the back of Rogue's head and pulled her in, kissing her with incredible tenderness. Pulling back from the kiss that left Rogue breathless, his left hand reached for her left hand to gaze intently at the custom made matching wedding rings.
"Husband..." Remy said simply, gazing at her wedding ring and pressed a soft kiss to her wedding ring he placed on her finger while in the middle of a rescue mission together in deep space assisting the Shi'Ar empire. His left hand then moved to tenderly caress the soft skin of Becca's arm as she slept. "... and father. Any man or mutant who dares to lift a threatening hand at you, our daughter, or at any member of my family who will stand by our side to defend us, will meet the full wrath of my omega level of power. And I couldn't care less if those hands belong to your mother or step mother. After all the hell they put us through, if either one dares to lay a finger on you or Becca, not even hell will be a safe place for them to hide from me. These riots have become more dangerous than in the past. Just another battle for us to fight to make the world safe for our daughter. As an X-Man and the guild's king, I won't rest to keep you and Becca safe. More so especially if Becca inherits our mutant abilities."
Rogue nodded her head in understanding. Not just in her husband's determination to fight for a world where she can co-exist with humans; but also in his determination to keep Becca safe from Mystique or Destiny. Her life had also been put through hell by her scheming mother, and she would be just as damned as Remy if she let her mother or Destiny lay a hand or even look at their daughter.
"I understand what you mean, Remy." Rogue said, shifting slightly to kiss his incredible lips. She couldn't stop a giggle when she felt his tongue invade her mouth and caress her lips as she pulled back to gaze into his eyes. "We have faced many challenges, and we will face this the same way we always have... together. As your guild queen, I vow to stand by your side forever."
"Je t'aime tellement, Anna Marie!" Remy whispered with such intensity and passion in his voice.
"Je t'aime tellement, Remy LeBeau." Rogue whispered in reply, her breath quickening at the sight of his intense gaze in his amazing red-on-black eyes.
With the most incredible look of devotion shining in his eyes, Remy's left hand once again reached out to cup the back of Rogue's head and pulled her in to kiss her. Pouring all of his passion and feelings in his heart for Rogue as their kiss gained intensity. His tongue dancing with hers as Rogue's hands found their way into his hair. They barely registered the sound of the sliding door opening as they were wrapped up in their own little world of their love for each other. The sound of an exaggerated cough broke them apart from their kiss to find Emil standing there with a grin on his face.
"Please don't tell me you two were out here all night." Emil said with a chuckle at the couple. To Emil's surprise, Remy and Rogue simply grinned and shrugged a shoulder at being caught making out in open view.
"No, Emil. And trust me when I say, this is normal for us." Rogue said unapologetically and without any hint of embarrassment, as Remy gazed at her with the most incredible look of pride and admiration for his incredible wife and the mother of his beautiful daughter.
"Hope you haven't forgotten Remy that we were going to do some bo staff training, or are you too tired for that." Emil joked as his cousin glanced at him with a smirk on his face as Becca slowly began to wake up in her father's arms.
"Trust me, Emil. Remy's got stamina to spare. He'll be fine for bo staff training with you." Rogue said with a giggle. Her giggle increased at the priceless look on Emil's face, squinting his eyes shut like he was trying to eliminate the image in his head from Rogue's words.
"Oh that'll do me, Rogue!" Emil grimaced and turned to head back inside. "Just be ready for the bo staff training you promised me in about ten minutes, Remy. I want you to teach me those moves you use in your X-Men battles."
A chuckle from the guild's king and queen followed Emil through the door as he stepped back inside to leave the couple alone with their daughter. As Remy watched Rogue lean down to press another kiss to Becca's forehead, he knew she was right. They had faced many challenges together, and would continue more so as parents to a beautiful little princess.
"You better go and get yourself ready for that training session, sugah. I'll be fine." Rogue whispered softly in his ear, unable to resist the playfulness to press a soft kiss to his earlobe. The kiss to his earlobe, along with the seductive touch of Rogue's tongue to his earlobe as she whispered those words before pulling back, caused a shiver of desire to run down his spine.
With a smile, Rogue adjusted herself to sit more comfortably on the couch as Remy stood up with Becca in his arms. He carefully handed Becca over to Rogue and grinned at the sight of Becca's eyes light up at the sight of her mother lower the thin strap of her satin nightgown to reveal her cleavage and her tiny mouth latched on greedily for a feed. The sight made it incredibly difficult for Remy to leave his two favourite girls on that couch as he grabbed the playing cards from the armrest of the couch and slid them back into his pocket. Forcing himself to move, he only made it as far as the opened sliding door as his eyes once again focused on his amazing wife breast feeding their daughter. Completely unaware of the dopey smile of love on his face as he watched Rogue breastfeeding little Becca.
THE END.
