Chapter Text
(I am so fucking sorry, I accidentally deleted the original draft. Here's a significantly weaker version of the end.)
So.
Rumi can shapeshift, which was expected of demons. Celine knew that. But...
Rumi could shapeshift into animals, and her baby just turned into a.. kitten? Tiger cub? Tiger cub, a purple one. Right now though, Celine could obviously see that Rumi had mostly turned back into a normal human baby, save for the legs, hands, and ears.
The Honmoon thrummed and seemed to giggle as Rumi played with its threads, squealing and giggling, as if she even forgot that a dokkaebi wad about to eat her.
Celine stared at the baby, still exhausted after the demon fight and her adrenaline wearing off. She shook her head before wrapping her wounds with a bandage.
It was terrifying, to say the least. She had no idea if Rumi could even transform back into a human baby, and thankfully she did. And thank fucking goodness her soul wasn't eaten, or Celine would've gone to the demon realm herself to end Gwi-Ma to finish a whole lots of generation's one goal her own way.
Celine glanced at the nightstand near her, before her gaze locked on a book about animals. Just simple animals, what sounds they make, and facts about them.
Mi-yeong and Poppy had wanted to show it to Rumi, but never got the chance. She wanted them back.
She needed them back.
She stared at it for a long moment before looking back at the baby in the crib, an idea forming in her head.
Rumi looked at her before giggling and making grabby hand motions at her, Celine complying by putting her calloused hand in the crib and ticking Rumi, the baby laughing.
She smiled softly as Rumi laughed. She glanced back at the book.
What animal is fast enough that Rumi can escape a demon?
