“How many more minutes till we reach your home, Barusu?”
“A couple of minutes now, nee-sama.”
Walking down on the Ozumigakuen street in 7-chome, Nerima, Subaru and the group consisting of Subaru himself, Emilia, Beatrice, Ram and Rem, who is still sleeping on Ram’s shoulder, while the latter was carrying the former, Meili, Anastasia and Julius, were looking around the place, the LED overhead lights brightly illuminating the surface of the road. While this brings nostalgic memories from his childhood for Subaru, the others were more fascinated by the advancements in Subaru’s world.
Subaru glanced at Emilia and Beatrice, who were walking by his side, then at Ram and Rem, who was peacefully sleeping on Ram’s shoulders. The fact that everyone now remembers both Rem and Julius gives him hope that she might have her memories. But he can’t be quick to jump on the gun. He can hope for something, but who knows what might happen in the future.
“With all these contraptions, this could go for a lot of money in the continent.” Anastasia remarked after seeing a blue Subaru parked outside, with Subaru, the alive version, chucking at her remark and replied back.
“It sure will. It is the innovations accumulated in the span of a hundred and fifty years which brought the modern car to life.”
After a couple of minutes of walking down the street—
“We are here.” Subaru announced anxiously. Rem, Emilia and Beatrice noticed his anxiety and calmed him down, in their own ways. He then took a deep breath, and went to the door bell, which he rang once.
Ding Dong
It took a few seconds before someone arrived on the other side of the door, as the muffled sounds of footsteps were heard.
“Mom. Dad.”
The door opened and for a minute, the group and the woman who opened the door stared at each other. Then—
“I’m sorry, but what in the actual fuck?”
—Standing on the other side of the door, is a person that Subaru has known for a long time, and is with him currently, yet shouldn’t be standing in front of him.

“Delayed.” A woman, probably in her mid-twenties and wearing casuals, said to her parents, who perked up from whatever they were doing in their phones.
“Ram-chan?”
“Barusu’s flight from LA is delayed, mom.”
“So he will be arriving late? Haah. And here I thought I could start making him some of his favourite snacks.” Ram’s mother, Natsuki Naoko sighed in defeat, as she was eagerly waiting for him to arrive from the US.
“It could be that he is pulling a prank against us again by telling us that the flight is delayed.”
“Well, probably yeah. Considering his track record, and today is his birthday too, it will be a moment before a bell will ring.”
Ding Dong
“And right on cue, did it ring. Ram will go get him dad.” Ram said to her father, Natsuki Kenichi - the head of the household nodded at her, and she went to the door. Dead silence was present as Ram and the group that was outside the door stared at each other. A minute after she opened it—
“I’m sorry, but what in the actual fuck?”
—Standing on the opposite side of the door, Ram is extremely confused as she is seeing a group that, according to her, shouldn’t exist in front of her.
