Episode 6 continues.
Both of them reach the house.
"Looks like someone's home"
"There's a rental car" Colin replies a little out of breath.
Patrick is here, would they be too late?
Bill takes out his gun "We need to gain entry Now!!"
Colin protests against it "No, No, No. Let's wait for Ground branch. They are not far behind us"
Bill asserts "I am not waiting.."
Colin gives up. He knows Bill. He can not convince him to stay behind. But he would not let him go by himself either "okay, atleast let me pick the lock. I don't need you kicking down the doors"
Colin picks the lock and mouths "Ready?" Bill nods.
They enter the house quietly. A little taken aback after seeing patrick and his dad having dinner together. Bill orders Patrick to throw away the knife he had been using for dinner. Patrick obeys. Bill searches him for any more weapons. But he is clean. Bill looks visibly puzzled. This is totally not something he assumed would happen here. Colin recieves a call from Nicki, he finishes and tells them that Patrick is clear. Patrick explains that he is not a bad guy. For a minute everything seems unclear. If it hadn't been Patrick then who might have wanted to take his dad's life? Colin asks Mr. Graham (Patrick's dad) if he knew that kimberly was involved with Keown company. He replies no. They soon figure out that it was Mr. Graham's wife who was attempting to murder him. While they are almost done concluding, the light goes off.
Colin- Does that happen very often?
Congressman- No. Not really.
(Bill and Colin notice that two assassins are heading their way)
CM- We can use the backdoor? It will lead us to woods. We can..
Colin- There are two more covering the back.
Bill- We are surrounded. QUICK turn off all the light sources. And do u have HVAC system??
CM- In the basement I can make the generator work too.
Bill- Okay, Patrick do u know how to make Chloramine gas?
Patrick- Yes. We need Chlorine, Bleach or any household cleaner.
Bill- let's go.
Everyone enters the basement. Patrick and bill start making gas.
Colin- I'll seal the gate. (Colin makes a quick run)
Bill and Patrick begin to work on gas. Colin keeps an eye outdoor.
Patrick- Alright. Cover ur noses. This is the last one.
(Start here)
Everyone looks around for something to cover their nose with. Bill keeps the tray of chemical under the vents. And Graham turns the generator on. They can hear the coughing and falling from upper floor. Colin looks out the window sneakily and see people with flashlights coming towards them. Suddenly, three men stumble near the stairs. Colin is relieved for a second. But he notices the missing person.
He whispers "One of them is still upstairs. Bill take position just in case. Crime branch is here anyway."
Colin looks back through the window. He notices the affected assasins are pointing fingers towards the house. And the other men (supposedly from their own team) are trying to calm them down. Their uniforms? Why are they not in uniforms? Someone from the newly arrived team offers water to them and yells something in anger.
The realization hits Colin like a splash "They are not our people. They are.. ".
Bill's eyebrows scrunch. Situation might go out of hands anytime now.
Bill- "They don't know we are here."
Colin is already calling Nicki- "Hey Nicki? What is the ETA on backup? Coz the team that is here. The one I am looking at-(looks out of the window again)- is apparently here to kill us."
...
"Okay, Well we can handle that long."
Bill looks at Colin with an eagerness. But Colin talks to Graham first. " where can u hide really well in this basement for next 15 minutes?"
Graham thinks for a while. "The trunk under the stairs. It can fit both of us. We can pull the plug at bottom for air flow."
Patrick nods.
Colin looks at bill finally. "We have to go upstairs. Divert them for a while. "
Bill- "Uh-aa. Not we. I. You don't carry Gun Colin and they are armed in case you didn't notice. You stay here. keep them safe. I'll go.
Colin-"and take down- what- 15 of those all by urself? C'mon we are wasting time Bill. I did seal the door. But I didn't make it invisible. if they come across it, They will follow it."
Bill- "You know that this-"
Colin- "We'll talk later."
Colin advances on the stairs.
Bill gives an uneasy look to Colin behind his back. But before following him, he gives a nod of affirmation to Patrick and his dad, its reciprocated warmly.
Colin waits by the door to make sure that no one is roaming outside. He gestures Bill to follow and opens the door quietly and slowly. The kitchen entrance is empty. So Colin asks bill to split. But bill profoundly refuses by shaking his head very strongly. Colin assures him with a softened gaze. He grabs a huge knife from kitchen table and hurries to the hall.
Bill wanted to follow Colin. He really did. But he couldn't. He knew he would be more useful with a distraction. Moreover, it wasn't his decision anymore. He goes to the Dining area. He sees almost 8-9 assasins swarming around. He waits beside the wall. He wouldn't take action first but will surely respond to one. So In case anything happens he needs advantage. He finds a a good cover and stays there. All he has to do is wait until someone wants to go to basement.
Colin on the other side discovers 3 people in the master bedroom. He does the same. Waits outside. But he also pulls out an app on his phone. It shows frquency and wavelength graphs. He presses scan. In few seconds ot connects to the radio inside master bedroom. He doesn’t do anything further. He waits until someone mention the kitchen. A1 mumbles something about door in kitchen. (Its the door that leads to basement). They all start waking towards the bedroom door. As soon as A1 is close to door. Colin presses a button on his phone. The radio starts a static. A2 and A3 stop in their tracks and look towards the the sound. A1 is almost at the door when he looks back too. Colin doesn't waste a Second to Pull him out and down. A1 grabs the cabinet door close to him and flung it open. But Colin overpowers him and holds him down to the ground. Colin uses the wooden side of knife to stab A1's neck with a great force. He is out in 1 stroke. But A2 and A3 were onto him already.
A2- "Big Mistake"
A2 tackles Colin to ground. Colin tries to free himself from his grip when A3 speaks "Does he look like Patrick or his dad to you?". A2 punches Colin before replying "doesn't match the description". A3 radios the team "Found someone up here. Not them though"
Colin hears movement on Static. That was followed by gunshots. But it all begins to blur because A2 is stangling Colin now. In desperation Colin locates the knife that fell around when he was tackled and stabs A2 in his hips and takes out the knife. A2 lets out a sharp gasp. Colin pushes him backward. A3 steps back aiming at Colin. Colin rolls over really hard hitting the open cabinet close to him. A Pain shoots through his shoulder. It wasn't the cabinet that caused the pain though. It was the bullet. He was shot in his shoulder. He wasn't fast enough in rolling. He has to ignore the pain. He gets up using the cabinet as a support.
A3- "I am Warning you to-"
Colin doesn't wait for him to finish it. He yanks the cabinet door open and charges at A3. Colin also uses it as a shield when attacking A3. He hits A3's head really hard with it. He knocked out A3 as well. Colin can clearly hear the gunshots on the other side of the house.
"Bill"
He needs to help him. But as soon as he turns he sees two assasins aiming at him. He ducks in time to miss the bullet. The bullet leaves a large hole on the wall and passes through to the bedroom. Colin uses the same cabinet door and jumps at A4. A4 can't adjust in time either and Colin hits him with it. Colin grabs A4's throat. A5 attacks Colin sideways to save his friend. They all crash into the wall. But A4 was towards the wall. So he cushions the other men and takes all the impact. A4 falls to the floor. A5 begins strangling Colin now. He picks Colin up from the floor. Toes of Colin's shoes scarping against the floor desperate for some sort of support. A5 has way more strength than any of them. Colin's vision blurs again as he struggles to get some air. His hands find a candlestick holder this time. He swings it really hard on other man's head. Colin audibly gasps for Air. While other man regains his balance. As soon as Colin's vision becomes a little clearer he begins punching A5. A3 wakes up. He curses. Colin looks back as A3 is about to throw a punch. Colin grabs him from his wrist and taking advantage of the momentum he bodyslams him into A5 first and then to the wall. A5 looses his balance. And A3 is knocked out again. A5 begins moving again. So Colin sits on his Chest. He starts throwing punches. He keeps punching him even after A5 is clearly knocked out. Colin doesn't stop until he hears a voice behind him.
"Colin?"
He recognizes this voice. He looks back. Bill is standing at the entryway. Bill is scanning the room. His gun still raised high. Colin sucks in a breath and asks " Are there more?"
"Huh?"
"Before my Adrenaline runs out.."
"No, I took care of them"
"There were so many- how?"
"I had a gun-
That reminds me where is your weapon? The one you proudly picked?"
"Too early to make that joke"
Bill laughs.
Bill recieves a call. "Its Nicki" he states before answering.
Nicki- "Crime Branch was sabotaged. They will be there in 20. Did u check on Colin? Is he okay too?"
Bill- "he is okay. I'll wait for them before getting Patrick and his dad"
Nicki- "works for me"
Call drops.
Colin- "are you absolutely sure. They are all done?"
"As long as you are done with these 5"
A smile escapes Colin's lips finally. He tries to move but looses his balance. Bill runs to him before Colin hits the floor.
"Hey-" Bill shouts "Colin. Are you-"
He notices it. The blood coming out of Colin's shoulder.
Colin gulps.
Colin- "okay.... Okay. Just help me up."
Bill pulls Colin up with his arms under Colin's Shoulders.
Bill- "I am gonna seat you on this Sofa. Okie?"
Colin doesn't react for a second
Bill- "Colin?"
Colin- "yeah, Yeah, ok"
Bill helps Colin into the Sofa. And starts looking for Water. He jumps over A2's body to reach the table where he spotted a water jug.
Bill- "I am just glad that this room didn't see as much firing as the other. The water wouldn't have survived. "
Colin chuckles. His eyelids growing heavy. The Adrenaline has clearly worn out. He is blinking slowly. Bill brings him Water.
Bill- "Have some."
Colin sips a little from the glass.
Bill- "is it just the blood loss or did you get injured internally too?"
Colin- "i feel fine. Just a little beaten up... but i have 5 opponents on the ground..... umm i think I am the only person who can bring a knife to a gun fight"
Bill- "What- its not too early to make the joke anymore?"
Colin laughs
Bill- "Can i have a look?"
Colin nods
Bill examines the shoulder. Colin winces as Bill touches close to the wound.
Bill- "Colin, its..umm.."
Colin- "bad? Trust me it looks worse than it is."
Bill- "Right. Stop with the heroic lines already. I am wondering how were u even moving it. Oh.. the bullet is still inside(Colin sharply inhales as Bill moves around it)...Oh.. I am sorry. I think we should take it out."
Colin- "No!No!No! I will wait for the Ambulance thanks."
Bill- "Not so tough huh?"
Colin- "We should go downstairs. Also get them out of the Box."
Bill- We?
Colin- What are you going to leave me here to bleed by myself?
Bill- I will return in a minute. I think you can live for a minute without me.
Colin- I don't know- Will I?
Bill- ....
Colin- Take me or will walk myself.
Bill- No need i will just yell for them. PATRICK, GRAHAM. WE ARE SAFE NOW. STAY WHERE YOU ARE. BUT BE COMFORTABLE. WE WILL GET YOU IN 10 MINUTES.
Colin- Fair. (Colin leans back in sofa and closes his eyes)
Bill sits beside him. Careful not to touch his bad shoulder.
Bill- "You know you shouldn't close your eyes. It might be a bad idea."
Colin- "hmm" (but Colin does not open his eyes)
Bill- "I am serious."
Colin- ...
Bill- "Colin."
Colin- "yes. I am awake. I just.. want to rest. Please."
Bill- "ok. Just don't die on me."
Colin- "I won't. I would love to see you regret your impulsive decision making skills. But, it turned out to be a good call at the end. So I won't."
It was Bill's turn to smile. They wait in Silence until they hear faint sounds of sirens. They made it. They made through hell. Their work is done. Rest is upto their Team.
