Chapter Text
It’s another mundane day of Choso bringing his brother to the park.
It’s not that he hates it or anything, it is the weekend after all, but it does get kind of boring sometimes….
Yuji does the same thing every time, runs around the playground, swings on the bars, and ends up falling off a merry-go-round then they have to go home.
“At least he doesn’t complain about the scraps and bruises much.” Choso laughs to himself as he thinks.
But today seems a bit different…? Not like the weather or anything but it seems little Yuji broke out of his cycle
“He will start Junior High in a couple days… maybe it’s good he’s finally giving the monkey bars a rest…” Choso concludes as he watches Yuji play basketball with kids his age
“Good for him” Choso thinks, “YOU GOT THIS YUJI!!!” Choso yells out from the bench he’s watching Yuji from, much to Yuji’s embarrassment.
The game seems to be going pretty smooth in all honestly, nobody is getting hurt and-
“Hey man, that was totally a foul!” Choso hears Yuji yell from the court.
“Nuh uh, I clearly took the ball from you fair and square,” A boy slightly bigger than Yuji says.
“Oh yeah?! Then what's this!?” Yuji asks accusingly while showing a carpet burn on his arm.
The kids start to get in each other faces
“How do I know you didn’t purposely give yourself that just to win the game?! While bold, it's cheating nonetheless!”
Choso thinks maybe he should step in.
“Hey come on, just leave him alone Todo…” Another kid says trying to defuse the conflict
“Oh yeah, Yuji has Fushiguro on his side… they totally got this right?” Choso tries to reason with himself while fighting the urge to jump in and protect his brother.
While looking small, Megumi Fushiguro definitely wasn’t afraid to fight.
“Maybe we should stop them…?” Megumi’s sister, Tsumki, says awkwardly
Choso and Tsumki have known each other for a while, due to their siblings being friends with one another.
Tsumki was similar to Choso in the fact they both had to raise their siblings while juggling Senior High School as 3rd years.
They both basically considered each other family by this point and are basically siblings.
Author’s Note: NOTHING ROMANICAL AT ALL! This is a modern Yuki X Choso story… go read (?) a Choso X Tsumki fanfic freaks…
“Maybe…? I have faith in my brother but I’m worried about the other kid…” Choso says thinking of incidents in the past similar to this
“Who knows maybe Megumi finally-” Tskumki says before being cut off.
“TSKUMI LOOK!” Choso yells as he starts running over to where the kids were playing basketball
Yuji is badly injured with an injury coming from his head, and the kid from earlier doesn't even look injured. It looks like they’re about to start fighting again too.
“Step away from my brother, now!” Choso says while stepping in front of Yuji
“Pfft you think I’m scared of you? I’ve taken kids your size before!” The kid says smirking deviously.
“WHAT?! Who’s kid is this!?” Choso blurts trying to find who’s reasonable for raising such a snot-nosed child
“Me.” A girl uncaringly says behind Choso
Choso turns around to get a good look at the person
She's around Choso’s height, a little shorter, and she has really long luscious blonde hair
She has a hat, sunglasses, a black hoodie and baggy blue jeans.
Not only did she seem uncaring about the fact her son fought a kid, she even has a lollipop in her mouth and a look on her face that says she couldn’t care less!
Choso is about to give her a piece of his mind before she completely walks past him.
“Soooo, did you win?” She says while tilting her head and smiling.
“Of course I did! I even did that move you showed me!” The kid says gloating about his moves.
Choso in disbelief a mother like this could exist.
“Do you not care that you kid fought mine? What kind of mother are you???!” Choso says while getting in the girl's face.
“Okay one, I’m his aunt not his mother, I’m only taking care of him while his parents are out… And besides, I really look that old? Sec-”
“Yes.” Choso says almost instinctively.
The girl is visibly ticked.
“SECONDLY! Why should I care? Seems like your kid picked a fight he couldn’t finish… not my nephew’s fault your kid couldn’t keep up with him!” She says while flipping her hair… almost as if she’s gloating and proud her nephew beat up a kid…?
“If your kid really needs lessons that bad I totally wouldn’t mind teaching him! You know right now our dojo is offering-” Everything in Choso’s head goes blank as she seemingly tries to advertise her dojo business.
Choso is just in total shock and disbelief; he's almost at a loss for words.
He cannot believe that not only did this kid's mom… aunt, congratulate her nephew for beating a kid… NOW SHE’S TRYING TO MAKE A QUICK BUCK??!?!
Choso is physically fuming and goes to grab Yuji to leave.
“Yuji we’re leaving, NOW.” Choso demands but Yuji seemingly stops him.
“No not yet! Just give me five more minutes to talk to my friend!” Yuji says pleading with Choso.
“Ehhhhhhhhh...?” Choso manages to mutter out.
“Don’t you mean best friends, brother?” The kid from earlier says while putting his arm around Yuji’s shoulder.
Choso just walks off, unable to process the current events that just happened.
He sits next to Tskumi and lets his mind just completely break.
“C-Choso…? You good…” Tskumi says while poking him.
“Come on, you’re no fun now…” she adds on while pouting.
“He- He’s… friends with the kid who hurt him…? A-And they’re now apparently brothers two… s-seconds later?” Choso says while gripping his head with his hands in utter disbelief.
His brain is completely fried and there’s practically smoke coming out.
“I’ll get Megumi and Idatori…” She says while getting up from the bench.
They’re now on the drive home from the park, Tskumi offered to drive since Choso didn’t seem in the right head space.
Choso’s head is placed against the glass as he is still reeling in the information from earlier.
Right when Choso is about to rest easy in the car he hears his brother ask,
“Hey, could I go to Todo’s house tomorrow and hangout?” He asks while Megumi sleeps on his shoulder
This information shocks Choso so bad his eyes shoot open and he blurts,
“WHY WOULD YOU EVER WANT TO GO TO HIS HOUSE??!?!?!” Choso is so visually distraught from this you’d think he’d just watch his brother die in front of him.
Megumi walks up from Choso’s yell.
Tskumi chops Choso over the head as they arrive home.
“Hey man, don’t wake up my brother…” She says seriously
“Besides, that’s my job anyways! Come on, it's the funniest part about getting home! Now I won’t be able to see his pissed reaction as I do it!” Tskumi rambles on about the “ethics” of how to correctly piss off a sibling.
Choso sighs a breath of relief remembering that even on chaotic days like this he still lives a pretty relaxed life.
Hopefully it stays this way… because Yuji seems adamant about going to “Todo’s” house tomorrow.
All these conflicting thoughts go through Choso’s head as he carries Yuji to their apartment (Yuji suddenly got “very tired” the second they got home despite being wide awake mere minutes ago)
They finally reach their apartment and Choso puts in the key as he finally relaxes once at their home.
He gets Yuji tucked in and goes to leave his room.
“Goodnight Yuji, I love you.” He says while flickering off the light
“I loveeee you too…” Yuji mumbles in his sleep.
It is pretty late with it being around 11-ish PM as Choso microwaves himself a quick and easy meal from the store.
He looks over the bills he has and double checks his schedule for things like job interviews and such.
While his food is cooking he grabs a pen and writes “Todo’s house” in the box for tomorrow on the calendar.
After his food is ready he eats it and thanks.
He proceeds to shower while he’s at it since he’s already paid the water bill.
After he gets out of the shower and dries off he does start to think…
“Wait, where does Todo even live…? Geez I was so mad at his aunt I didn’t even get details, hopefully Yuji isn’t disappointed.”
Right when he goes to scribble out the plans he hears a knock on the door…
“Huh who could this be…? It’s almost midnight, am I being pranked?”
Choso wonders as he makes his way to the door and opens it.
It’s the girl from earlier.
“Hey sooo-” She starts
Choso closes the door in her face.
After a few seconds he opens it, but with the lock on and the door barely propped open.
“What do you want…” He says begrudgingly.
“Well Todo over here said he wanted Yuji to come over tomorrow and I realized you guys didn’t have our address or anything! So I thought I'd be the bigger person and come here to give it to you!” She says while leaning forward and sticking her tongue out cheekingly.
“Ooooh okay…” Choso says a bit hesitantly.
“Hey where is that kid? I still have stuff I want to say…” in the middle of him talking the girl steps aside and reveals Todo.
He is wearing almost 5 layers of clothing with a ridiculous leather jacket on top.
Choso can’t help but laugh.
“I know it’s a bit chilly, but isn’t this overkill…?” He says while smirking at the kid.
“Well I wouldn’t my nephew getting cold now would I? His parents would also lowkey kill me if I did…” She says nervously while twirling her hair.
“Don’t disrespect Yuki-Obasan like that! She is a pioneer in fashion! She was actually offered multiple-” Todo continues while Choso tunes him out.
“I have something in the morning but something later in the afternoon could work?” Choso says to Yuki trying to meet in the middle.
“How does 6 PM sound?” She says while also ignoring Todo’s rant.
“It should work, sometime around then.” Choso says while looking back at the calendar.
As he turns back around he notices Yuki starting to leave but before she does completely she says,
“Sounds good! It’s a date!” Then she and Todo proceed to walk off.
Choso closes the door in a small fluster.
Despite being almost 17 years of age… Choso never once had a girl seemingly flirt with him like this and is a 100% virgin.
He’s always been kind of oblivious to these things, and mostly picks up on the wrong kind of hints.
Choso knows she probably meant it in a more casual way, but yet he can help himself blush slightly as he slides down the door and slumps.
“Yeah… a date…” He says while looking at the piece of paper she put her address in.
Choso starts thinking maybe thinks won’t be too bad…?
“Who’s that girl you were talking to…? And why are you blushing… Do you have a girlfrienddddd now?” Yuji says trying to annoy his brother, making kissing noises alongside his comment.
“GO BACK TO BED!” Choso yells as he grabs a cushion from the couch to chuck at Yuji
Yuji giggles as he runs back to bed and closes his door.
Choso goes to sleep on the couch as he wonders what tomorrow will be like, falling asleep at the sound of the TV playing…
