Chun-Li scrolled down her social page, ignoring the spam texts some people were sending her, and choosing to focus on what was happening around Metro City.
Still nothing from Ken's deserted account, obviously. An advertisement for Buckler Security Services featuring Luke. Posts from some of her friends, like Cammy sending pictures of her with cats, and Ryu struggling to make a text. Chun-Li was about to stop there, but something caught her eye that made her stop.
An announcement from a person she vaguely recognized from two DLC years past. The one who sobbed while Juri had consoled her. Something related to Rashid... hope... Then, it suddenly clicked to her.
Calima Lee.
The last time Chun-Li had seen her, Calima's hair had been wavy-curly but matted in a despairing sort of way, her eyes the color of roasted coffee beans. The first time Rashid had introduced her to Chun-Li, her hair had been held in place with what she assumed was hair gel, and the spark when Calima looked at him was a distant memory to that brutal heartbreak.
But what was really shocking for Chun-Li was what was on Calima's finger in the photo.
A ring. Not just any ring, but an engagement ring.
She's engaged?? Chun-Li thought to herself. Last I'd seen her she was miserable about breaking up with Rashid. Then again, that was two years ago, so maybe they reconciled or Calima went for a fresh start--
But the questions died in her thoughts when she saw the much taller figure standing beside Calima in the photo and replaced with just one.
Was that Alex??
Chun-Li blinked, then did a double take. Yep, that was definitely Alex. She was beginning to wonder how Calima had moved on so quickly, why she fell for Alex, why she was getting engaged so fast, if maybe the bad memories of her past relationship were causing her to do this--
But she just commented a heart and a congrats message, put her phone down, and moved on.
