Chapter Text
The night is tranquil, the sky is dark and the stars are dimming down and then shining brightly. On the wet cold sandy beach, lies Tomioka Giyuu.
The water hashira is gazing at the dark abyss as if it's surrounding him.
His eyes dart ,in a swift motion, between the dark blue ocean that stares back at him longingly, almost inviting him to join its peace and calmness.
And his mismatched haori is lying in a still motion beside him: the reddish-pinkish color on the right side reminds him of blood spilling and scenes no child deserves to see. While the other that had adapted a traditional almost diamond shape pattern—consisting of numbers of colors such as forest green, lush, tangerine, yellow...makes him reminisce of old bittersweet friendship that had ended with the death of the other.
The memories are like a blur, Giyuu couldn't exactly comprehend how horrifying and painful it must have been for his dear friend to be crushed to death.
He got up from where he had been sitting previously and started to stomp the ground with his foot extremely loudly.
Once.
twice..
Three times...
Every loud sound is a statement of boiling anger and disappointment in oneself.

Suddenly, the lonely hashira feels a breath on his shoulder and without skipping a beat, he recoils back while turning his head to observe what is behind him.
His eyes meet ones of familiarity, of childhood memories...
But..."why is she back?!" He questions himself in shock.
Maybe the most logical question to one that doesn't know is "how is he seeing the dead?"
That face ,that hair, those kind eyes are staring at him intensely, making him stutter while speaking: "W-why are you here again—you're no-not her, that's impossible."
The dark figure perfectly resembling his sister is smiling at him—but it's not warm like he remembered, it's tense No almost calculated to fulfill whatever sick motive it wants guaranteed.
It walks towards him with extreme confidence and sickeningly slow.
Giyuu does the opposite, trying to get away from whatever this strange being is...
His feet are now fully submerged in the cold water, making him even more frightened.
He looks around him "There's nowhere to run." he tells himself.
Suddenly, it lunges at him when he's the least expecting, Taking him down into the deep ocean water.
Its soft hands are grabbing him with much force, keeping him in place.
He instinctively grabs on its arms, almost like he's defending himself.
Now much more aware of what is happening, he feels himself ,for the first time, suffocated by the ocean water—the element he had mastered since he was 16.
Not like he will ever feel deserving of that-"Sabito was and will always remain better than I would ever be" he thought to himself daily.
And for a brief moment, dark spots appear in his eyes and his vision becomes more and more blurry. When he feels himself about to lose consciousness, "Tsutako" disappears from his vision like she vanished from total existence and everything goes dark...
...
Coughing sounds can be heard in the distance.
Giyuu is laying on his back, trying to catch his breath once again. His lips have taken a blue tint in them and he is completely soaked with water from head to toe.
"Fuck" Giyuu mutters under his breath.
