PROLOGUE:
The blood was hot underneath your fingertips, its crimson liquid drenched your clothes and splintered onto the floor in a gruesome display no artist could replicate. Every plunge into his cold flesh felt like a breath of fresh air, like a loss of thirst that no drink could quench. Every shout, every hit, every punishment ran through your head as you stabbed the knife into your fathers chest again, and again. You payed no bother to the feast-full sobs echoing from your throat, and the tears which flew from your eyes and onto his dead body.
You knew you’d be found guilty, but what did it matter to you? This moment was worth so much more than any time you’d spend in jail. It was worth every moment of your pitiful pathetic life.
But was it worth his life?
He wasn’t supposed to be there.
He wasn’t suppose to open that door.
He was supposed to be working that day.
He was supposed to come home later.
He wasn’t supposed to hold you tight through your sobs.
He wasn’t supposed to help you clean off the blood.
He wasn’t supposed to help you hide the body.
He wasn’t suppose to look you in your eyes and tell you that it was going to be okay.
He wasn’t supposed to take the blame for you.
He wasn’t supposed to die.
And look and how pathetic you looked now, after confessing to the crime he was charged for at his funeral you were sent off to die just as he had. How stupid of you to waste his life like that. At least you’d be reunited in death.
You rotted in that prison cell for days, you didn’t utter a word to anyone else, you didn’t eat anything, you didn’t sleep. You didn’t deserve to after what you’d done. Hell you deserved to rot for what you’d caused.
You started to hear whispers. Talk of a program to clear you of all charges, to set you free, claim back your life. At first it sounded like silly rumors, what kind of nonsense was this supposed to be? Letting prisoners go in exchange for being apart of a program, there was no chance this thing existed. But yet there was a sign up sheet, it sat on the cafeteria wall, real as ever. Maybe this was your second chance, to make Sebastian’s sacrifice worthy, to not let it go to waste.
So you signed up.
What else did you have to lose anyhow.
The response from the company running the program “Urbanshade” appeared fast, and before long you were being taken into a place called the “Hadel Blacksight” and as the submarine rose to the surface you knew you had to make this right. For him.
