Chapter 1: Level: 1- Difficulty: 3/10

Chapter Text

Idia was the basically the word antisocial personified, from him rarely leaving his room unless absolutely necessary, to the fact that more than half of the students in the Ignihyde dorm haven’t a clue on what their own house warden looks like.

Idia himself didn’t mind not being know by the entire school-save for a few people, those being his fellow house wardens, Ortho if that counts(it doesn’t), and some others.- because either way, as soon as he would walk into class all attention would automatically be drawn to his flaming blue hair, and unusually tall form.

He didn’t hate the attention, although sometimes he thinks it would be better if he could just sink back into his chair and play gacha games on his phone under the desk-he NEEDS to grind for upcoming banners.

And thats exactly where Idia found himself today, hunched over in his seat with his phone in his lap and hood pulled over his head, completely zoned out of the lesson. He wouldn’t fail, Ortho takes notes as well, he can copy them from him later.

Speaking of Ortho, Idia felt him grab his shoulder and lightly shake him, Idia grumbled, focused on the game as he was almost finished with a round.

“Gimmie five secs Ortho, im so close to getting a full combo…” Idia glanced up once and saw Ortho-who was sitting next to him- chuckling with both hands over his face.

Idia finished the round, sighing as he saw the words “FULL COMBO” flash across the small phone screen. He sat up straight, stretching his back as he looked up for the first time, his teacher standing right in front of his desk, looking less than impressed.

“Mr Shroud.” The teacher started. “It is against school policy to use phones during class. I am going to have to confiscate said phone.”

Idia’s usually pale face drained of all the colour that was left, already mentally cursing himself out.

“When will i get it back?!” Idia said a little too desperately.

“At the end of the week.” The teacher held out his hand, waiting for idia to give up his precious phone for the entire rest of the week! And it’s only a Tuesday!!! And he has to get his dailies in the 4 games he has downloaded on that phone! Has he been doomed for all eternity!?!

Idia groaned, locking his phone before pulling it out from under the desk and placing it into the teachers hand. His posture back to its normal- shrimp like- state, looking like he just lost 10 50/50s in a row, glaring at Ortho, who just laughed. He could have warned him?!

‘Yo big bro, the teacher of doom and despair’s coming, stop grinding on your games and pay attention to class.’ Idia thought to himself of what Ortho could say.

Looking around at the class he saw most of his classmates staring at him, some giggling, some talking to friends about the weird guy in the corner that got caught on his phone. Oh Sevens he just lost so much aura…

———

Idia systematically decided that life without his phone was basically the same as a death sentence, so after school ended he found himself outside of head mage Crowley’s office. Trying to build up the courage to knock. After a long 3 minutes of thinking he knocked on the big wooden door, trying to get this over with quickly.

After a few seconds of the door going unanswered Idia got a little pissed off, looking around. The skinny man jumped as the door creaked open, Crowley himself standing in the doorway in a rather tropical looking shirt.

“Sorry about this! I was just trying out some new shirts for next week! How can i help you, Mr Shroud?” Crowley asked cheerfully.

“Um… h-head mage Crowley, i need my phone back! It got taken earlier today, in second period, and the teacher said i would have to wait until the weekend to get it back! But like, i need it back NOW.” Idia spat out in a rush.

Crowley nodded, thinking for just a second before answering.
“Im sorry Mr Shroud, but thats the phone policy, theres nothing i can do about it, it’s out of my hands, really!”

Idia pulled at his hair. “Ughh! Isn’t there anything i can do to get it back now?! I’ll do literally anything!”

“Well… have you signed up for the friendship camp happening over the next week? I know you haven’t!” Crowley sang his last words.

“Anything but that!” Idia corrected.

“Oh, then if you don’t sign up, then i guess your phone will just stay in my office!”
Crowley smiled, knowing he’s being an ass.

“Ugh… fine, I’ll sign up…” Idia gave up, already thinking about the horrors that could be at ‘friendship camp.’

Crowley sighed. “Well you’ll only have to go if your name gets picked out in the raffle. How many tickets do you want? The first one’s free!”

“I only want one.” Idia responded bluntly.

“Great! I’ll pop your name in the jar. And, as promised.” Crowley pulled Idias phone from his back pocket, holding it out to him. “Heres your phone!”

Idia snatched his phone from Crowleys hands like a seagull. “Thank you.”

Crowley laughed, smiling. “Yes, aren’t i just so generous?”

Idia was already walking away. crowley muttering as he closed the door to his office, something about ungrateful kids, whatever. Idia didn’t care, as long as he had his sweet phone full of games back he was set. There was no way that HIS name would get picked out of a jar of hundreds.
