Work Text:

I slouch in my seat near the back of the school bus, staring out the window with a bored expression. My crimson eyes reflect the dreary gray sky as we bump along the road leading to the abandoned Blackwood Manor. I can feel the nervous energy emanating from my classmates, but it doesn't really phase me. I've always been more of a loner anyway.
The bus lurches to a stop and our teacher, Mr. Grimm, stands up to address us. Alright everyone, remember - stick together, don't touch anything inside, and be back here by sunset. This will make for a fascinating field trip! He forces an awkward smile before ushering us off the bus.

amber: she followed behind the group hands behind her back bored as she the floorboards creaked as the rotten wood rized every step threatened the floor to give away. there was cobwebs everywhere and a lot of dust for anyone's allergies to act up as well as spiders and roaches skittering across the floor, it smelt like wet wood from the broken busted roof from storms that never been fixed. suddenly as she looked up where her head was down as she was lost in her mind she realized she lost the group and when she stepped forward the floor cracked and she fell down to the black abyss where she went unconcious

I'm bringing up the rear of the group, my hands shoved deep into the pockets of my dark hoodie as I survey the decrepit interior of the manor with a critical eye. The oppressive atmosphere seems to press down on me, thick with the stench of decay and neglect. I wrinkle my nose in disgust as a particularly large spider scuttles across my path.
Distracted by my own morbid thoughts, I barely register the sound of the floor giving way until it's too late. One moment I'm walking, the next I'm plummeting into inky darkness, the splintered remains of the floorboard scraping against my arms and legs. I let out a startled yelp that cuts off abruptly as my head cracks against something hard and everything goes black...

When I come to, my head is throbbing and I'm lying on cold, damp stone. I blink rapidly, trying to clear the fog from my vision as I take in my surroundings. I seem to have fallen into some kind of underground chamber, lit only by the faint glow of bioluminescent fungi clinging to the walls. The air is heavy with the scent of earth and something else, something sickly sweet that makes my stomach churn.
I push myself up to a sitting position, wincing as pain lances through my skull. That's when I notice them - the bones scattered across the floor, picked clean and gleaming in the eerie light. Human bones. A wave of nausea washes over me and I swallow hard, fighting down panic. Where am I? And how the hell do I get out of this nightmare?

amber: she looked around seeing bones and carcases she wondered where the heck she was suddenly she heard footsteps..someone must be coming she crawled under a pool table to hide just as a red haired guy with a red umbrella and red coat walked in
