Yeo joons life was normal….not really. His father is abusive to his family. Hitting yeo joons mother. And him. He had only realized life had gotten better when he achieved some friends. Real friends. Nam Soo Hyun, Kim So Bin, Gong Mi Joo, Lee Young Ran, and maybe more. But. he thought to himself…its not like life would be automatically better, because he has new friends. But that all changes.
Yeo joon wakes up. Grogilly. He stretches in his bed. Brushes his teeth. Whatever he does. Prepares himself. To go to college. Just like everyday. As usual. He stays clingy to Soo Hyun. not really clingy. But especially since they live together. I suppose..annoying? Attached? Who knows what he thinks. Even yeo joon doesn’t know himself.
“Yah. yeo joon.”
“Hey!”
Someone taps Yeo Joons shoulder. Its Soo hyun. They have a group project. He had been spacing out. Who knows what he was thinking?. “Oh! Yeah? Sorry. I had been spacing out recently… maybe i hadn’t got enough sleep lately.” he says. “I have been calling u for the past ten minutes.”
Ten minutes?
Had he been spacing out for that long?
“Ahh..sorry. What were u going to ask me?” Joon asked. “I asked if you’re going to be the one to present the work. On the day of the presentation.” “Or do u want to do research?” Soo Hyun added.
“..why are u staring at me?”
Yeo joon flinches. He had spaced out..again? Or as soo hyun says. Yeo joon had been staring.
“Ah! Im sorry” . “Geez i really gotta take a nap after i do all this work..” Yeo joon mutters. “Yeah. im alright with presenting. If so. Whos gonna do the research?” Yeo joon questions. After all. He had only realized. That. “..i can do it!” a voice comes from across the table.
Chung gook. His..friend? Ah. he had forgotten he was in a group with him and Jung ho. Chung gook had changed recently. After that incident with so bin. He had apologized his ass off to so bin. She eventually forgave him. “Ah. if you’re fine with that, go ahead.” Yeo joon says. “Yah! Chung gook, ur becoming too generous! Did u know a random change in someone can lead to death?” “or something like that.” jung ho added. “yah.” he bumps jung ho’s shoulder. “its the least i can do.” yeo joon is glad. That chung gook is trying to change.
NEXT DAY
It was normal as usual. He attended classes. Hung out with so bin and soo hyun. If soo hyun wasn’t busy. But lately. Yeo joon had been clingy to soo hyun. No reason. Just to annoy him. But he never knew. It would lead to something else.
Late at night. Yeo joon and soo hyun are walking home. To the youth villa. “Hey.” yeo joon looks at soo hyun. Surprised. “Wahh..normally im the one who has to start a conversation. Now u are? Thats new.” yeo joon grins, tilting his head slightly. Clearly amused. “What. i cant be the one to start it?” soo hyun says. But theres a slight annoyed tone.
“Nope. anyways, go ahead.” “What were u going to say?” yeo joon asks. “. you’ve been clingy lately.” Soo hyun says it flatly, crossing his arms. “Wahh! U noticed?” yeo joon teases. “Yeo joon. I’ve been busy lately. At some point u have to stop.” “whatt? No way.” yeo joon disagrees. Theres no way hes going to agree that easily. “Yeo joon. To be honest. Its kind of weird.” Yeo joon stops. One eyebrow raised. “Huh? What do u mean weird?” “..nevermind.” yeo joon doesnt understand what soo hyun means. “No. tell me. Whats so weird about it?” “i said nevermind. Come on.” soo hyun gestures for yeo joon to follow along going home. “Hey. ur changing the topic. Just tell me, and i can let it go!”
Yeo joon says. Clearly annoyed by the sudden change of topic. He doesnt know why hes so annoyed.
“Yah. i said nevermind. So lets just go home.” “Soo hyun sunbae. Come on! Just tell me.” soo hyun, annoyed. “Fine. im curious. Why are u so clingy to me? U arent even clingy to any of the others. Why me huh?”. Yeo joon pauses. Freezes even. Soo hyun is right. Why only soo hyun? This whole time. He had only realized the person hes the most closest to, is soo hyun.
When he really thinks about it.. Maybe.. He likes soo hyun? No way. Thats not possible. Nononono way!. Yeo joon thinks. But if he has to answer soo hyun. He has no other choice. But to go with that option.
..”.fine.”...”i like u.” the sudden confession catches soo hyun off guard. What? Yeo joon scoffs. “Nevermind. Its stupid. Forget what i said.” he brushes it off. Trys to walk away. Soo hyun. Standing there. Trying to process what he heard. Yeo joon. Continues walking. Then. soo hyun walks fastly. Catching up to yeo joon. Grabs his wrist. Pulling him slightly closer. “Yah. what are u doing?” yeo joon. Caught off guard. “..” then. Soo hyun closes the distance between their lips. He kisses yeo joon. Yeo joon. Surprised. His eyes widen. the kiss. He cant describe it. He never kissed a guy before. Even soo hyun himself doesnt even know what hes doing. Then. they both pull back, putting a distance between them. Yeo joon awkwardly coughs.
They continue walking home. But not even looking at eachother. Both of their ears are red. Not a single glance.
They eventually reach youth villa. Still not looking at eachother. Yeo joon is lucky that soo hyun sleeps on the couch. Hell. hes lucky they dont even sleep in the same bed. It would be awkward. Even after what happened.
