I stumble out of my house, watching as the bright colours flicker uncertainly, burning all the wood and flammables I have.
My eyes are glued to the wooden structure of what used to be my house, now a pile of Ashes and burnt wood.
Throughout the years I've worked for thr Dai Li, I've learned that crying, is going to get gou nowhere.
My whole life is in that house, and I watch as it gets destroyed, little by little.
There's no water for at least a few miles, or any water benders, this is a patch of grass that nobody knows about, I just wanted a nice, quiet life and this is what I get.
I feel the hum of the rocks around me, but smashing things with boulders isn't going to stop the fire, So I just sit and watch.
Woosh, there goes a steady stream of water in the.. in the air? Wait, that's not possible, unless..
A woman appears from behind a tree, her arms raised and moving the water through the house, putting out the fire, saving what's left of the house.
She's beautiful, with shiny, long black hair as smooth as silk.
Her eyes are as green as the grass were standing on and I can't look away, their mesmerising, She's mesmerising.
"So," she calls out, "I'm guessing you don't have anywhere else to go?"
"W - Well um no, not exactly," I stammer, hoping she didn't catch me staring.
She sighs, "Well there's a spare bedroom in my house, you can stay there for a while,"
"Thank you so much .." I silently hope she will give me her name so I can thank her properly, and I also want to know the name of the gorgeous woman who helped me.
"Ria, my name is Ria."
"Thank you Ria, for everything," Ria, that's a pretty name, heh, pretty name for a pretty girl, she's also extremely self spoken for someone who looks like she could fight a hundred people and come out victorious without breaking a sweat.
"Shall we get going?" She asks, raising her eyebrow.
"Yep," I reply, and then we're off, "so, where exactly is your home?"
"I live on Kyoshi island." She says casually,
"Wait," I say, "Your a Kyoshi warrior!?"
"Yep, have been my whole life," Ria says.
"Wow, isn't your leader like, best friends with the avatar?" I ask, awestruck.
She laughs, which is just, the most gorgeous sound I've ever heard.
"I wouldn't say best friends, but they are pretty close now that you mention it."
"That's so cool!" I exclaim, "Have you met the avatar?" I asked.
"Actually," she says, "I have met him a few times, he's nice but really young, like, maximum 15 years old."
"Fifteen!" I whisper-shout, "that is so young, so your telling me he mastered all four elements, and defeated the firelord at that age?"
"Pretty much," she says, "but he did have his friends to help him when things got tough."
I dont answer, instead I look ahead, at Kyoshi island.
"Wow.." I whisper, "this place is amazing,"
She laughs, "Well, it gets a bit boring after years of the same place."
"I have a question," I tell her.
She looks at me questioningly, "sure go ahead."
"The Kyoshi warriors are a non-bending elite force, yeah?"
"Yeah, where are you going with this?" She asks.
"Well, if your a Kyoshi warrior, how are you a water bender?"
She stares at me, mouth hanging open for a few seconds, "I just, I don't know, never bended because I didn't know how, for a very long time. They all know, but they let me stay."
"That.. actually makes sense," I say, stopping infront of a house which I assume is hers.
She fumbles for the key in her pocket and unlocks the door, it's cozy inside, with beige furniture and a fireplace.
"I'll show you to your room." She says, breaking the silence and leading me upstairs.
The room looks like it hasn't been used since it was built.
"I've never used this room before," Ria says, almost as if she read my mind.
"I hope its okay for now, until you can rebuild your house, let me know if you need anything." And with that, she leaves, and I'm left alone with my thoughts.
She obviously doesn't like me like that, so it's best if I just get over it.
I wish she would tell me if she liked me back.
I lie on the bed, sinking into the soft sheets, I think it's silk but I don't know much about fabric.
I Yawn, stretching my arms and looking out the window, I wonder if Ria is awake yet?
I grab my clothes and get changed into something casual, I wonder if I should have a look around the island, the things I've heard about this place are magical, and I want to see if their true.
Heading downstairs, the house is really quiet, it creeps me out a little, when I get to the bottom of the stairs
