Journal Entry 1: 2/6/83, 11:46
Virgil got me a journal for our birthday, said I should use it. I'm not sure what he wants, but I'm determined to find out. I think I should write about my day, at least, that's what he said.
Today was slow. I finished drawing a map of the southern reaches, our scouts discovered an oasis. Odd, but not entirely improbable in the desert. Ah, I suppose I should explain myself.
I am Veronica Eden Reyes, strategist to the Lightning Clan of the Sorian Desert. Lin D. Reyes, my older brother, is the leader of the clan, and my twin brother, Virgil, is the second in command. My clan is allied with the Water Clan, whose territory is as far west as ours is east. My clan has fought against the Wind Clan, slightly west of our territory, but has no direct quarrels with the Fire Clan, north of the Wind Clan and the Wind Clan's ally. My twin sister, Rachel, is fire clan. I'm not sure what she does there, but I don't see her often, if at all.
That is besides the point. I'm not sure I will continue with this "journal" thing. It seems to make my brother happy, however, so I will try.
