Work Text:

Jongho was Yeosang’s #1 fan, an avid collector.

He has from signed albums, to birthday specials, and even signed photo cards.

But Yeosang doesn’t know.

Jongho was carefully sleeving his Yeosang photo cards, he recently bought the gym photo card to complete his collection, when San rudely burst in.

He quickly tried to cover everything by shoving it in his binder, but San noticed.

“Well well, what’s going on in here? I was gonna ask if you had lotion.”

“None of your business, Sannie, get out!”

“Woah, so aggressive! Just lemme see.”

“No! Get out!”

San tried to wrestle Jongho to get past and see, he knew he wouldn’t win but what if he likes being manhandled a bit? Let a man live.

Somehow, someway, San was able to hit the binder. It fell and scattered photo cards everywhere. Jongho ran to pick them up, forgetting his embarrassment. “Careful! This was expensive!!” He scolded San as he picked up stray photo cards.

“Photo cards? Hongjoong said he didn’t want us collecting other groups, you know!” San smirked. “It’s not- whatever. Just leave!” Jongho mumbled.

“Why are you so persistent?” He looked over Jonghos shoulder and froze. “Ah.. I see, you’re collecting Yeosang! You didn’t want me to see, huh?” He laughed. Jongho immediately stood up and shushed him, “Shut it! Leave me alone..”

“Is this some crush? You see Yeosang everyday!” San rolled his eyes. “Yeah but.. you don’t get it, just get!” Jongho pushed San away.

“It would work better if you talked to him instead of obsessing

like a fan! Unlike the fans, you know him. Plus you’ve seen us nak-“ “Shut up San! Get out!” Jongho threw a pencil Sans way but San quickly left.

His face was red and his breath uneven, this was super embarrassing.

He was hopelessly in love with his hyung!

——

The next encounter was awkward.

Jongho was enjoying an Americano on the sofa when both San and Yeosang walked in, usually Jongho was normal but ever since San pointed out his crush, he hasn’t been the same.

“Ah Yeosang! Look, it’s our maknae.” San smirked, pushing Yeosang to Jongho.

Jongho immediately looked around, his face was starting to heat up.

“Let’s sit, I’ll sit on Jonghos other side.” San sat Yeosang down and moved. Yeosang was as obedient was ever, but his eyes were a bit wider.

“Oh I’m so tired!” San exclaimed, heavily leaning on Jongho, which caused  Jongho to lean on Yeosang.

“Sangie- sorry, this idiot is pushing me!” He shoved San off. “It’s fine.” Yeosang smiled, “just San being San.”  Something about Yeosangs smile was different, but Jongho couldn’t tell what. “Yea.. San the idiot!” He managed to push San off the couch.

“Ouch! That hurts..” San rubbed his head, even though he landed on his butt. “Whatever. Go find someone else to pester!” Jongho tried to kick San, but he was too far.

“Whatever! Sangie, wanna come?” San stood up. Yeosang was quiet for a while, “No thanks, I’ll stay with the maknae.” Both San and Jongho looked a little taken aback. “Fine, stay with the bully. You become who you hang out with!” San yelled as he walked down the hall.

Jongho tried to calm down by sipping his drink. “Hey Jjongie, been some time since we hung out, right?” Yeosang looked into Jonghos eyes. “Mhm-“ Jongho quickly swallowed. “We should change that! Let’s go somewhere.. I’m hungry.” Jongho almost dropped his drink. “Right now?”

“Yeah! I mean- if you want.” Yeosang tried to contain his excitement. Honestly, Jongho has never seen Yeosang so happy to be with him. “Yeah, of course. Where?” “Well there’s this new chicken spot..” Yeosang looked at his own sleeves.

Typical, he should’ve expected chicken.

“Of course, yeah. Let me get ready.” Jongho stood up. “Don’t take too long!” Yeosang waved.

Jongho almost slammed the door shut behind him. He held his chest, why is his heartbeat so fast?

“Hey.” Jongho immediately opened his eyes, San was sitting on his bed. “Sannie? Get out!” Jongho rushed over. “Hey hey! Wait! I’m here to help!” San crawled away and held his hands up. “Your date, with Sangie!” San smirked.

“It’s not a date! We-..” Jongho paused, he never thought of dates! What if this was a date to Yeosang? “Stop trying to get my hopes up, that’s too far.” Jongho crossed his arms.

“I swear! Listen- I can help! I know what Sangie likes.” Jongho scoffed,”Because you stalk him.” San paused. “That’s besides the point! Listen, I know you’re the monster of capitalism and all that but you pay for him. And take him to a dessert spot right after! Don’t sit across, sit next to him!” San rapidly explained, waving his arms around.

“That’s awkward! In a booth you don’t sit next to each other.” Jongho frowned. “But this is Yeosang, my baby loves to be seen.” San sighed. “I want Yeosang to be happy, and I don’t know what would happen between you two but it has to end with Yeosang being the happiest he’s ever been!”

“Jeez, plan our wedding while you’re at it.” Jongho rolled his eyes as he walked to his closet. “It doesn’t matter what I think, okay? If he doesn’t like me, it’s fine. Plus we’re going out for chicken, not a 5 star meal.” Jongho picked out a shirt, it was loosely fit, hugging his arms. “To him it’s a 6 star meal.” San straightened himself.

Jongho chuckled as he changed. “Looking good-“ “Shut up San, none of this is for you.” Jongho huffed as he grabbed a mask. San whined, “Whatever!” “You picked Wooyoung, and we know he doesn’t compare in strength to me.” Jongho flexed his arm.

San rolled his eyes and shoo’ed him, “You’re taking too long, go have fun!”

Jongho stumbled out his room. Yeosang was already stood at the end of the hall, staring at him. “Uh- you ready?” Yeosang tried to seem normal.

“Uh.. yeah! Yeah- ready when you are.” Jongho straightened himself. “Then let’s go!” Yeosang smiled.

The walk to the spot was peaceful, they didn’t stand too close but not too far either.

———

When they walked in, the strong scent of chicken hit them. Yeosang held his hand close together in excitement, “That’s how you know it’ll be good!” Yeosang whispered to Jongho. Jongho could only smile in response.

“Next!”

Yeosang and Jongho approached the counter, “Hello! We will have.. the 10 piece fried chicken with fries and 2 fountain drinks!” Yeosang looked at the menu. “Alright.. that’s $23.56, would you like cash or card?” The lady looked up. “Card.” Jongho stepped up and pulled out his card. Yeosang seemed a little shocked that Jongho decided to pay.

“Alright, food will be up to you in about 20 minutes, please make yourselves comfortable at the booths.” The lady gestured to the booths.

Yeosang seemed to have frozen, so Jongho took his hand and pulled him to a booth. “Yeo? You okay?” Jongho looked into Yeosang’s eyes. “Uh- yeah! I’m fine- sorry.. you paid?” Yeosang looked confused.

“Yeah? Am I that greedy that it looks impossible for me to be generous?” Jongho smirked. “No! I just- no! That’s not what I mean!” Yeosang immediately protested.

“Relax, I was kidding. Sit.” Jongho only smiled. Yeosang slowly nodded and sat down. He froze again when Jongho sat so close. “You’re not sitting across?” He mumbled.

“Should I? Am I too close?” Now Jongho was getting nervous. “No! Don’t move, it’s okay. I like this..” Yeosang loosely held Jonghos arm. “Then I’ll stay.” All hesitation vanished from Jonghos face.

When the food arrived, Yeosang’s face lit up. “It smells so good.” Yeosang immediately reached out. He took a huge bite then looked at Jongho, who was already staring at him.

“You got a few crumbs- here, let me help.” Jongho looked at Yeosang’s lips as he wiped the fried crumbs off his lips. When he finished, they stared at each other. Yeosang’s face got hot and he immediately looked back at his chicken.

“Try some! It’s super yummy!” Yeosang’s voice was slightly shaky, he hoped Jongho didn’t notice. “If you say so.” Jongho took a leg and took a bite. “Mm! It is! It’s so tender, yet so crispy.” He took another bite.

When Yeosang looked over, the sight was breathtaking. Jongho was smiling his adorable gummy smile, he also had crumbs on his cheeks. Yeosang could only stare in awe.

Jongho only looked over when he finished the leg, “Hyung, it’s super-.. good.” They stared at each other for a while.

“You’re beautiful.” Yeosang whispered. “Huh?” Jongho sat straighter. “Huh? I didn’t say anything!! That was your imagination!” Yeosang immediately grabbed another piece of chicken and took a big bite to prevent himself from speaking.

“You are too.” Jongho mumbled as he stuffed his face.

They occasionally glanced at each other as they ate, they only resumed talking when they were heading out.

———

The air was chilly and the moon bright. The street was mostly secluded with very few cars.

Yeosang shivered, he forgot his coat. “You okay?” Jongho looked over, he had his own jacket on. “I’m fine! Just a little chilly, but I’ll survive.” Yeosang’s tried to brush it off. Jongho frowned and took off his sweater.

“Here.” They stopped in the middle of the street, Jonghos hand extended to Yeosang. “I couldn’t-“ “You should. I don’t want you getting sick.” Jongho began putting his coat on Yeosang. “I-..” Yeosang’s words died on his lips as he let himself be dressed by Jongho.

“You want dessert? My treat.” Jongho decided to be bold and held Yeosang’s hands, his own were surprisingly hot. “Ooo! Yes!” Yeosang’s smile immediately returned. “Okay, lead the way.”

The rest of the night was filled with stolen glances, brushing of hands, whispers, and romantic tension.

———

When they made it back to the dorms, the rest of the group were in the living room playing Jenga. “Look who finally decided to show up!” Wooyoung called out. “You took my baby on a date and didn’t ask for my blessing?” Wooyoung faked annoyance.

Yeosang and Jonghos faces immediately turned red. “It wasn’t a date!” Yeosang immediately shouted. “We-.. hung out.”

“Yeah yeah! With kisses and hugs- maybe a few sneaky hands and-“ “I’m leaving.” Jongho interrupted and rushed to his room. Yeosang looked a little sad at Jongho leaving so suddenly.

“See what you did!” He rushed to follow.

The group stayed silent. “Are they a thing?” Mingi looked confused. “Hopefully they will be by the end of the night.” San giggled. They all looked at him in slight confusion but continued the game.

———

Jongho shoved his phone and keys onto his desk and sat down. His heart was pounding and ears burning. Even the thought of dating Yeosang made his squirm.

He needed to calm down.

He took out his Yeosang binder and slowly skimmed through the pages. The neatly organized photo cards of his favorite man calmed him down.

He was finally relaxed until Yeosang burst in. “Jongho! I’m sorry about Wooyoung, he was kidding-“ he froze. Jongho immediately closed the binder and threw it across the room.

“What was that?” Yeosang looked a little.. angry?

“Uhm., nothing. It’s stupid, a diary!” Jongho immediately defended himself.

Yeosang looked skeptical. In a dash, he ran to the binder. “Stop-!” Jongho stood up, but it was too late.

Yeosang held the beautifully laced binder, skimming through the pages of his own photo cards.

Surprisingly, he let out a long sigh. “Oh my- I thought you were collecting another group.” Yeosang looked proud. Jonghos face was burning. “You weren’t supposed to see that.. “ he mumbled.

“I’m glad I did, means you like me.. right?” Yeosang looked over at Jongho. “Uhm.. I-.. do you like me.. back?” Jongho slowly looked up, making eye contact. “I thought I was obvious.” Yeosang gently placed the binder down and stepped into Jonghos personal space. He grabbed Jonghos hands and slowly caressed them.

“I do.. like you.” Jongho whispered. “I’ve never seen you so shy… it’s cute.” Yeosang smiled. Jongho immediately looked into Yeosang’s eyes, glancing at his lips. There was a long pause.

“Can I..” Yeosang initiated.

“Yes., please.” Jongho whispered.

Yeosang leaned in, the kiss was gentle. It started with a press of lips, but  he slowly moved their lips together. Jongho complied and let Yeosang kiss him.

The kiss was comfortable and loving, but Jongho was getting a little impatient. He deepened the kiss, wrapping his tongue around Yeosang’s. He let out a whine as Jongho took control.

After a while, they separated with a wet pop. They slowly began laughing as they rested their foreheads on each others.

“Not bad, who taught you?” Yeosang wrapped his arms around Jonghos neck. “What can I say? I’m a natural.” “Yeah, a natural cornball.” Yeosang scoffed.

“I’m lovable, no?” Jongho smirked. “Sure.” Yeosang laughed. “Hey.. can I sleep here? I-.. I want to be close.” He whispered. “Of course, who am I to deny?” Jongho smiled.

Yeosang looked up at him and giggled.

———

Their limbs were intertwined under the blanket as they cuddled. They stayed close and comfortable.

“Yeo… are we.. dating?” Jongho looked down at him.

“I would hope so.” Yeosang looked back up.

“Then yeah, we’re lovers.” Jongho held him tighter.

They stayed cuddled the whole night, occasionally snickering at each other’s dumb jokes.
