Chapter 1: The Chapter I Like :D

Chapter Text

The tips of Elliot's mouth turned upwards, his previous frown turning into a smile as a man in a red and black suit with long silver hair pulled back into a messy ponytail walked into Builder Brothers Pizza.

Though Elliot would never say it out loud, he enjoyed the company whenever Chance was a around. He was funny and nice. They were on the dumber side, which sometimes got on Elliot's nerves, but strangely enough, he never got mad at Chance. He did not know why, but he felt different when Chance was around, happier.

Chance's footsteps came closer until he reached the front desk.

"Hey, Eli!" They said with a smile instead of his usual smirk.

"Got any favorite customer discounts today?" They asked, leaning on one of his arms that was resting on the counter. This was their usual greeting.

"Nope, not today. You'll have to come back tomorrow, and maybe we'll have something," Elliot responded with a small and playful smirk.

"Then I'll just have 2 large cheese pizzas and 12 sodas. The guys back at the casino are waiting on their 5-star food."

Chance loved gambling. It was his favorite hobby, and they were quite good at it too. He even won rigged games, but this caused him some problems with the mafia. Today, Chance wasn't gambling at his casino. They were hosting games because Elliot didn't like it when he 'threw money down the toilet'

"You know we have a delivery app, right?" Elliot questioned.

"Yeah, but then you wouldn't get to see me! We both know you couldn't live without me." Chance answered, their smile adjusting into a smirk. Elliot couldn't tell if they were amused by his question or if he was just teasing him.

"All right, go sit down and I'll call your order when it's done."

As Elliot walked into the kitchen to make their order, Chance's gaze lingered on the blonde worker until he disappeared behind the doors to the kitchen.

Everything about Elliot brightened Chance's day by what felt like a billion. From the light glow of his ponytail to the way his bangs stuck out of his red Builder Brothers visor.

The first time the two spoke, Elliot was grumpier and looked very tired, like he was running on auto pilot, but something about the pizza boy intrigued him and made their eyes wander back to him.

As shifty homophobic friends go, their friends noticed and teased him.

"Aw, did our little gay biy fall in love with the nerd-ass cashier?"

"Wow your so funny Itrapped!"

"Yeah fuckin' knee slapper. I'm rolling on the floor laughing."

"Cheer up, Chance! You have money, so who wouldn't want to be with you?"

"Shut up Nate! Eat your pizza assholes!" They could (and would) snickers at him all they wanted. It didn't effect the in the long term.

"Order number 777!" Yelled Elliot. Thank goodness. He was starving. Elliot gave him a quick smile before he went off to take the order of 2 other customers, a little red kid and his older dad.

Chance began checking his order to make sure everything was fine and so they could stick around longer, when he heard a loud explosion.

"Dad! Look!" Exclaimed the little red kid. He was holding a rocket blaster, and he was shooting at walls and tables. In an instant people were screaming and running out of the pizzaria as the kids dad scrambled to get him under control. The dad's attempts were futile as the kid used a black screen to set chairs on fire.

Chance panicked and ran to grab Elliot's hand. They both ran out of the burning building. By the time they ran out the entire building was burning down, and the kids dad was hugging the little red boy, the kid standing confused not knowing he did something wrong as his dad sobbed into him.

Elliot, who was standing beside Chance trembling and looking up at the flames, twitched and then turned towards the dad and the kid. He stomped over, his anger blocking out sirens blaring in the distance.

Chance raced after him and reached out their hand onto Elliot's shoulder.

"Eli... calm down! He's just a single dad trying his best, it wasn't all his fault-" Elliot brushed Chance's hand off his shoulder and said coldly through gritted teeth.

"It's not your decision wether I yell at someone, so stay out of it"

Chance froze, hurt by his words. He stumbled and almost fell when familiar arms caught him.

"Whoopsy. Careful, don't fall and break your head. That would sure suck."

"Go away Itrapped..." Chance murmured.

"Woah! That's no way to treat your best friend, now is it?" Itrapped asked letting Chance stand up without his arms.

"Come on, let's get you home. I'll drive you." He dragged Chance's half-limp body to the car.

"Hey, you could at least make an effort to get up. Yo, are you okay??? Hello? Chance, are you still with me??" Itrapped propped him up against his car.

He whipped around, hitting Chance with his blonde braid.

"If you don't wake up and get in the fucking car, Im going to leave you here and you can walk home.

Chance reluctantly got in the car and stared at Elliot through the windows as he continued to yell at the man.
